[name_m]Hi[/name_m] mamas! Sorry for being MIA - I hope you all are well!
Don’t worry about baby size right now. Ultrasounds are very unreliable for size, and babies have growth spurts at different times. Also, big babies are awesome! I’ve had 3 so far and they have gotten a pound bigger each time! (My last just shy of 10 pounds).
We have decided on [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] if this baby is indeed a girl. [name_f]Pretty[/name_f] sure she will be [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] <3, she will join siblings [name_m]Abel[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f].
I’m officially 3rd trimester now! Glucose results were fine and I have my first bump measurement tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how that looks on the chart, I always measured weeks ahead last time. Generally feeling well but struggling a bit with pelvic and rib pain. (Both ends of the bump!)
How is everyone doing? [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you are all feeling well
Today I went to my favorite consignment store and found these 2 super cute snowsuit/buntings.
I am iffy about keeping the hot pink one. It’s a [name_f]Columbia[/name_f] Snuggly [name_f]Bunny[/name_f] bunting in size 0-3 months. It is for sale on the website for $65 right now but I found this one for $9
It does get cold here around 15-35 farenheit most days in [name_u]Jan[/name_u] and Feb but I know I can’t use this in the car seat. Since we are starting with a convertible car seat we won’t be using a stroller right off either - she will be carried in a baby wrap or carrier. I do plan on taking her on daily walks after a few weeks but that may be well in to [name_u]February[/name_u] before we start that (due at the end of Jan)
[name_u]Will[/name_u] this thing get any use or should I return it to let another baby who may be older get more use out of it??
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I love reading these topics and just saw this. I’d return it, personally. Babies should not wear snowsuits in a wrap/carrier anyway as they will overheat so it probably won’t get much, if any use. Which is a shame as it is so cute!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! I was just checking in and wondering how everyone is doing? Most of us should either be in our third or second trimester now. I’ve just entered my third trimester, doing well in general. I do feel absolutely HUGE and it’s nowhere near as big as other pregnant ladies I’ve seen. Feels like a lot can still happen in these last two and a bit months.
I have horrendous pelvic pain and am being referred to physio. Very much hoping that it will help because sometimes it’s almost impossible to move without crying out in pain. I feel bad for my husband trying to sleep haha.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] @aielbereth ! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you’re doing well!
Agree feeling very huge now. 8 weeks to go for me (plus or minus a couple?!)
Feeling you on pelvic pain, and the very uncomfortable sleeping. I have found a bit of relief in a very gentle prenatal yoga video, some stretching seems to help even though I thought it would make it worse. Also a support band if I’m going to be walking or on my feet for a while. @spark those snowsuits are adorable! Did you keep them?
@aielbereth@greenleaves [name_m]Ah[/name_m] can’t believe we’re getting so close!! I’m also in my 3rd trimester now too!
[name_f]My[/name_f] main complaint is a pinched nerve causing my outer thigh to be numb. It’s been going on for about a month. Most days I do a decent job of sitting/standing frequently or sitting on a yoga ball… But some days are pretty bad when I let the numbness get too intense before trying to ease it. Then it turns to pain and I’m absolutely miserable for the remainder of the day. Fortunately, getting a good night’s rest temporarily cures the pinched nerve and I wake up feeling fine.
If I didn’t have this symptom, I’d be having an easy-breezy pregnancy I’m thankful everything else I’m experiencing is either positive or mildly uncomfortable, but dangit sometimes I just want to rip my leg off
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! [name_m]Just[/name_m] popping back in for an update on how everyone is doing! We recently found out that we are having boy!! So excited! This little guy is a mover. Has been since we first saw him on an ultrasound and every one since then has been the same. He really likes to make the techs work for it since he moves so much they struggle to get decent ultrasound pics . And now that he’s big enough for me to feel some of those movements it’s like having a little alien inside me!
@Elle1 - I have the same issue with the pinched nerve making my legs go numb and then becoming painful after awhile! I’ve found that doing a shallow lunge to stretch it out really helps release the muscles and alleviate the pain. It hurts like crazy at first, but once it releases it’s sooo nice! The other thing that has helped immensely is using a foam roller on my thighs at night. [name_m]Just[/name_m] for like 1-2 minutes per leg. Again, it hurts a lot at first but if you get in the habit of doing it every night it’s a game changer!
How is everyone doing? [name_f]Pretty[/name_f] sure I’m the size of a house at this point…
Still no names agreed for either sex. Any tips on how to impress any sense of urgency to this decision on my husband would be appreciated
not long to go now! [name_f]My[/name_f] due date is the 29th of [name_u]Jan[/name_u], which now feels frighteningly close. I’m about a week away from going on mat leave. Very desperate for it now, because I feel huge and exhausted and in pain most of the time.
Husband and I are still settled on the name, so at least that all done. I’ve even started ordering things like custom prints with his name and those wooden letters you put on kid’s doors sometimes.
Jumping back into the boards today - posted for name help/ideas but hadn’t logged in since [name_u]June[/name_u] 2019 when I was pregnant with our first. We’d been team green, and had our girl in [name_u]August[/name_u] that year Now we’re preg again, baby due patty’s day - it’s a boy this time!! Had considered being team green again and waited until a few weeks ago to find out, but decided to for a ton of reasons.
We’re between a few names but may go with first name my choice, middle name his choice. Which is a bit of a bummer to me b/c our daughter has a fn I loved/picked, a middle that he chose - which had 3 separate positive associations for us AND the initials represented another thing special to us. So for the boy name to be like, “shrug - it’s all we could come up with” feels less special. (THOUGH the fn option I like is a middle name of my great grandfather - which I didn’t know until recently)
[name_u]Happy[/name_u] to be back on the boards and reading along!!
I very much recommend this suggestion! It threw out a bunch of fun name ideas and really showed my husband and I that we have similar tastes. Though he goes a slightly more traditional route, while I tend to prefer shorter names. So that’s how we ended up with Christopher as a full name, but will be calling our son “Kit” pretty much all the time.
I’ve met so many with the same due date! 29th of Jan appears to be really, really popular.
I love Christopher/Kit! It is (one of very few) contender for us too as my dad was [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], but my husband is less sure about [name_u]Kit[/name_u] so more likely a middle name candidate.
Bump has dropped a lot for me (3 weeks until due date) and lots of [name_u]Braxton[/name_u] Hicks so I’m feeling like baby is getting themselves ready. I am not ready for them yet definitely hoping for a punctual [name_u]January[/name_u] delivery, not a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] arrival!
Anyone else feel like they’ve been pregnant forever and will be pregnant forever?
6 more days until I’m 40 weeks… Occasional Braxton Hicks contractions. The top of my bump feels very stretched and moderately painful, hopefully she’s dropped (I can’t really tell, people have been telling me she dropped since Christmas ). Nausea. Appetite is all over the place. Exhausted. Either losing my mucus plug slowly or just having different discharge lol.
