@pittieparty So happy to hear this!
So Iāve gone ahead and booked an early scan privately for 8 weeks 2 days (next Saturday). Thereās no way my anxiety is going to give me any peace until I see an actual little bean on a scan, and 12 weeks seemed such a long time away!
Thatās exciting. Iām still trying to decide whether to do the same. Had a really reassuring conversation with my midwife this week about my anxieties around the pregnancy, which has helped my mindset a lot.
How have your symptoms been this week? [name_f]My[/name_f] nausea has died off but still only wanting carbs all the time.
Oh, thatās great! Iām glad your midwife was so reassuring
Symptoms wise, I just have low level all day nausea, occasionally peaked by a choice smell (eg, drove past a brewery today ). And super tired. And I want to eat arepas con queso or bao buns all the time!
Ok both of those foods sound so good right now!
[name_f]My[/name_f] sense of smell is super heightened too, I guess iām just worried about the nausea going away but perhaps my consistent snacking is helping
Very excited to join this thread!
I found out that Iām pregnant earlier this week, after 2 years of infertility and 5 rounds of fertility treatment.
Tentative due date is [name_u]November[/name_u] 13th. I had some blood work done to check my HCG levels and everything looked good, and Iām getting my first ultrasound in a couple of weeks. Definitely excited! But also nervous, as this will be a high risk pregnancy (Iām a type 1 diabetic).
Iāve spent all morning dealing with morning sickness and pretty intense heartburn, so I guess itās definitely true that Iām pregnant! Honestly, I donāt think I would believe that this is actually happening if it werenāt for these symptoms, so Iām not complaining!
With my first pregnancy had no early pregnancy symptoms. This time around have had on and off nausea - partners taken over cleaning the bathroom as I literally canāt stop gagging at the slightest whiff of the toilet cleaner Also feeling very fatigued - have never been a napped but has become a new habit! Strangely biggest change has either been increased sense of smell or bad body odour? Canāt tell if I can smell myself more or Iām smelling stronger!!
I had a private scan today for reassurance and iām really glad we did. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] looked great, saw the heartbeat as well. Iām measuring about a week ahead of my LMP date. Also had my midwife appt over the phone so just waiting on my dating scan appt now.
Generally iām feeling not too bad, just like I have a slight hangover! Eating lots of carbs and the odd nap is getting me through this trimester.
How exciting @georgiegeorgie!
I had an early scan this morning too, although it ended up being through the NHS rather than private as Iād had a bit of spotting. But everything looks great, we saw a heartbeat and the little bean is measuring right on track Canāt wait for my 12 week scan on 15th [name_f]April[/name_f] now!
Amazing!! We have our 12 week scan that week too. Counting down the days
Yay for all the good scan news! I went in for a 10w scan yesterday - which is when I discovered my MMC last time, so the nerves, they were frayed.
But everything looked awesome! That lil baby was dancing around. I couldnāt believe it!
They also took blood for NIPT, but based on the fact that I have morning sickness, and I never did with my girls, AND the prophetic dream my dad had that I would have a boy in [name_u]October[/name_u], Iām really feeling like this is a boy.
So happy to hear this, @pittieparty!
Ahh so good! [name_u]Happy[/name_u] news. I felt the same with my scan and the timing of our MMC.
Thatās really interesting. [name_u]Will[/name_u] you find out?
We are team green but Iām definitely more tempted this time. Last time I was so sure my son was a boy despite not finding out, but I really donāt have a sense either way yet.
@georgiegeorgie oh we are definitely finding out! I donāt know how you can wait! LOL
I usually a planner, but I donāt know, I just love waiting to find out who this little person is gonna be! The surprise really is magical.
I got an ultrasound today and got to see my babyās heartbeat for the very first time. I canāt describe the relief I felt when I saw that little flicker. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] is measuring right on track, and everything looks great. Iām 7 weeks, so definitely not out of the danger zone yet, but Iām feeling so, so much relief and happiness just knowing everything is alright so far.
Awww, congrats! Thatās great news!!
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone travelling well in their pregnancies! Feeling nervous passing week sailing past the 10 weeek mark which is when I lost my last pregnancy. I have a ultrasound at 12 weeks which is creeping up so looking forward to hopefully having any remaining fears it to rest then
Congrats on making it to another milestone! I know that feeling of counting time against previous losses. Itās so crazy.
People may say Iām totally nuts but Iām feeling some kind of fluttering since last week - whether itās blood flow or baby moving. Whatever it is, it sure is comforting to feel like STUFF is happening in there! I pause several times a day just to pay attention to the feeling.
Good luck on your 12 week! Also your username is what I call my youngest daughter
Thank you for your beautiful reply itās a comforting feeling knowing lots of other women going through the same experience!
So special feeling those flutters so early!! I have a new found appreciation for morning sickness this time around feels horrible but nice reminder Iām pregnant so feel very grateful for the reminders my bodies giving me
