Awww I love [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]! What a great choice. That was my grandma’s name and is my older daughter’s middle name. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandma’s birth certificate said “Lila” but one of her elementary school teachers thought it looked better with a “y” and the spelling stuck her whole life.
I am no closer to choosing a name, but my MIL has taken it upon herself to create a list🙄
I have been picking up second hand baby items like mad!! It’s my new fave hobby - trolling the neighborhood classifieds. I’ll be sad when I have everything on my list. LOL
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] to hear everyone’s updates
I’m doing good, the second trimester is almost over and i’ve felt generally good thankfully. [name_m]Just[/name_m] coping with the current heatwave we’ve been having by sleeping with a cold flannel on my belly at night.
[name_u]Baby[/name_u] has been wriggling lots, and I finally heard the heartbeat at our midwife appointment last week.
We have two names for each sex, but no closer to narrowing it down this time. I really think this is gonna have to be waiting to meet who this little person is first before I can fully settle. With my first, we knew his name before he was conceived so this all feels abstract to still not be certain!
We have booked a holiday as well, and i’ll be well into the third trimester, but weirdly not feeling too worried about it… even though i’m pushing it slightly. I’m just excited for a little babymoon before life gets crazy!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] hit the 3rd trimester over here and feeling very unorganised! The nursery is still an empty, unfloored, unpainted room. Goodness only knows where all the baby stuff from my first born ended up after we moved house 2 years ago… Need to find it all and take inventory on what we might still need! 12 weeks (or less!) suddenly doesn’t seem like very long at all when you’ve also got a pre-schooler running around!
Got my mat leave start date confirmed with work, and have added on all my remaining holiday for this year to the start of it, so I’ll finish up at the end of [name_u]September[/name_u] when I’ll be around 35 weeks. Cannot wait!
27+4 here! [name_f]My[/name_f] glucose test and first growth scan is on [name_f]Monday[/name_f], I’ll be meeting my consultant as well so can finally find out if I’m able to have my vbac. It’s going so fast!! I started washing baby’s clothes a few days ago so once that’s all done I just need to pack my hospital bag. I’ve had on and off restless legs and back pain, never had it with my first and it’s so hard to sleep with it. But other than that it’s all good here!
Hey everyone third trimester over here too.
Sounds like you’ve been pretty organised with work @sabrielschild - i’m kind of taking each week at a time and aiming to finish at the end of [name_u]September[/name_u] as well but it’s definitely not set in stone.
I’ve been feeling a lot more tired the last few weeks, and achey hips in the mornings, but other than that not too bad. I’m having that feeling of not wanting to wish time away, as I really enjoy being pregnant, but at the same time so excited for the baby to arrive as well. Very mixed emotions!
We’ve slowly been getting through the washing, now just to find room for it all, as my toddlers wardrobe is pretty overflowing as it is!
About to hit 30 weeks tomorrow😱
I still have two vacations to get through so I’m pretty nervous about that and won’t feel I’m in the home stretch until I get home still pregnant and without COVID.
We currently don’t have someone to cover me at work, but hopefully it’s happening soon, so I don’t know when I can actually stop working.
[name_f]My[/name_f] biggest worry right now is finding backup care for my two kids before my mom is able to come and stay with us…mentally preparing to go the hospital alone if I have to!
I’m 19 weeks today, so I’ve got a bit longer to go than most of you. We just came back from our vacation in [name_f]Iceland[/name_f]. I’ve been working this week, but I’ll have three more weeks off starting tomorrow. I hope to keep working until a couple of weeks before my due date. I’ve never succeeded at that with my other pregnancies, I always had to stay home early because of my (mental and physical) health.
We’ve been doing non-stop remodeling since we moved into this house, and we finally finished everything just before we left on vacation. The nursery is painted but still needs some decorating.
We’ve got tons of baby stuff from the twins (and our second) so we’re pretty much settled.
I had my 28 week growth scan last week, baby was measuring 2lb 12oz. Spot on 50th centile and if I get to my goal of 39 weeks (which is when my elective c section is booked) then she’ll be 8lb 2oz. That’s over double of what my son was at birth I’m 29+2 now, next scan booked in for early [name_u]September[/name_u].
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone is doing OK. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] like this pregnancy is going so fast.
(Almost) 32 weeks here, and still generally feeling good, just a little more out of puff doing day to day things than I was a few weeks back. Have started swimming which is just bliss and wish I’d taken up earlier in the pregnancy.
[name_u]Baby[/name_u] is measuring just below 90th centile, but 3 weeks ago was more like 25th, so I dare to say the fundal height measurement is pretty innacurate!
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone is doing well?
I’m 30 weeks now and doing good apart from killer heartburn and being a bit achey by the end of the day! Managing to sleep quite well still (apart from when my newly 4yo has me up in the night) which I’m grateful for. [name_f]My[/name_f] fundal height measurement at my 28 week appointment put baby right on the 50th centile. I don’t have another appointment until 34 weeks now. I do look a bit like I’ve swallowed a basketball
[name_f]My[/name_f] eldest was born at 39 weeks, which makes this baby’s birth seem very near if she were to come at the same gestation!
I’m 32 weeks tomorrow, got another growth scan on [name_f]Monday[/name_f] and feeling very pregnant now I just got back from a 5 day staycation to the seaside, so much walking and late nights, and I am beyond exhausted! I have also put on 30lbs… I lost 7lbs at first, didn’t weigh myself for months and just weighed myself today and I’m about 30lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight so I’m sad about that but hoping it comes off fairly easily once baby girl is here.
When are you packing hospital bags? [name_u]Baby[/name_u] girl’s is packed but needs redoing, and I want to get mine done next week as my son came at 33+5. I’ve ordered her going home outfit as well! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone is good!
Wow, @eireann do you think your daughter could come early like your son? That’s so close!
I just got back from final vacation with my two girls, and I was so paranoid that I would go into labor while away. Had some gnarly [name_u]Braxton[/name_u] Hicks the last two nights to keep me on my toes! Now that I’m home for the duration at 34w, I can relax. But yes, packing hospital bag is right at the top of my to-do list (right after freaking out that this is actually happening🤯).
Hello! I’m currently at 34w and have our trip next week too (seems we’re all trying to enjoy that last bit of [name_f]Summer[/name_f] relaxation before everything changes in a few weeks!)
This last few days / couple of weeks have been hard. I am finding it mentally very challenging to allow myself to slow down, but my body has forced me to otherwise. Sciatica, leg cramps and insomnia are now regular occurrences unfortunately.
I’ve stopped weighing myself as the number is definitely higher than it was than with my son at full term. I’m blaming water weight from this heat wave, but who knows!
And i’ll be packing my hospital bag when we’re back from holiday. Definitely taking half the stuff I did last time!
You’re all so close to your due dates already. I’m 23 weeks, so no hospital bag yet, but I want to have mine ready by the time I’m 30 weeks. The twins were born at 32+2 and my second son at 35 weeks, so I want to be prepared for anything.
I’ve gone back to work last [name_f]Monday[/name_f], and I hope to keep working until mid [name_u]November[/name_u] (when I’m 34 weeks).
We’ve decided on baby’s full name, and I have to say I’m so relieved. Not being able to find a full name give me so much stress, but at least we’ve taken that hurdle now
I’m 32+4 and likewise feeling very pregnant now. Main issue is still heartburn but backache has been joining the party in the last few days too - probably my own fault for leaving decorating the nursery so late
[name_f]My[/name_f] hospital bag is mostly packed I think, it’s really just clothes and toiletries I use everyday that will need to be chucked in last minute. Need to get some good snacks to put in too
3 weeks left at work, can’t wait to not have to commute!
Off to a wedding reception this evening which starts at 7:30pm. I’ve been going to bed at like 8:30pm recently, so we’ll see how that goes!
I hope not! He was evicted because my placenta and cord failed and I’m closely monitored this time. No issues as of yet! Hoping for a c section around 38-39 weeks.
Currently 27+3 and feeling the third trimester discomfort settling in
I have to schedule a 3 hour glucose test as my levels were too elevated after the first pass. Also found out this week that I’m mildly anemic, so I’ve started iron supplements, which have an unfortunate GI side effect
Overall, I feel very fortunate that this pregnancy has been healthy and that I’ve felt pretty well compared to a lot of the stories I’ve heard from others. I’m just now understanding what people mean by “pregnancy is so uncomfortable!” as he’s growing and moving. Cue back pain and leg cramps!
