I had my 20 week scan today and baby is a GIRL! One of each and my family is now complete undecided on [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Isla[/name_f] for baby. I have to go back end of [name_u]June[/name_u] for more measurements as baby was laying awkwardly but all is good! So happy.
How lovely @eireann Congrats!
Iām 21 weeks now and heartburn, lower back ache and randomly waking at 2am have set in with a vengeance Time seems to be going very quickly and very slowly at the same time??
Iām 12 weeks today, which always feels like a bit of a milestone. Iām trying my best to be more positive about this pregnancy, and to actually enjoy it, but to be honest I still hate being pregnant. I guess the result makes it all worth it, but ugh
How is everyone doing?
iāve been finding dressing very tricky with the heat. [name_f]Pretty[/name_f] much living in stretchy skirts and t-shirts. Apart from that, iām all good. Slowly starting to feel more movement which is lovely.
Iāve been on vacation in the mountains which does make dressing a little easier. All leggings and roomy tees/hoodies.
I hate to be that person, but I never feel better than when Iām pregnant. I think itās the hormones and extra blood. The physical unwieldiness is a small price to pay. Iāve even been sleeping ok on the rental bed, despite the numb carpal tunnel arms that require adjustment several times a night.
On the name front, however, weāre in a bad place. We had a shortlist, and I thought this was going to be a breeze. Then my husband decided he hated half the short list and I decided I hated the only one he liked. Now heās refusing to discuss with me until [name_u]September[/name_u] because he (rightly) thinks I will pick any name apart if given enough time
So I continue lurking on every name board I can find in the hopes of stumbling on something new. If anyone wants to take pity on me and advise, here were our rejected names:
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] - I still like, but DH is meh
[name_m]Liev[/name_m] - DH decided he hates
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] - see [name_m]Liev[/name_m]
[name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] - I decided I just could not go with full name [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m], despite the fact that I love [name_u]Jem[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m] - we just canāt think of a nickname we like. Not [name_m]Len[/name_m] or [name_u]Lenny[/name_u] or [name_m]Ned[/name_m]. A friend suggested Nard-dogš
Meanwhile, we have given him the fetal name [name_m]Wilbur[/name_m], which makes discussing baby things much more convenient and hilarious.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone is staying cool!!
Got the results from our NIPT test yesterday. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] is doing well, and weāre having a girl
Congrats @Rosebeth ! Your first girl,
right? [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] news.
@georgiegeorgie Thank you. Yes, itās my first girl after four boys. Iāll have to figure out how to be a girls mom as we go along, I guess
[name_m]Just[/name_m] caught up on this thread and loving hearing everyoneās updates! Iām 17 weeks today!
I havenāt felt him move yet, but Iām anxiously awaiting that first kick! For those that know, when did you feel your first one moving? [name_f]My[/name_f] friends have all said between like 17-20 weeks, but just curious! Also, when did you āpopā? I feel like Iām showing some but still donāt think Iāve had the big belly pop yet.
We just made a formal announcement last [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] so itās been sweet to read all the messages of support this week!
With my first, I felt him move around 23 weeks, so pretty late. And with him I also started to show rather late, around 22 weeks.
I didnāt feel any movement until 23 weeks with my first.
With my second it was around 18 weeks, but only very subtly and itās only becoming more prominent now at 24 weeks.
I feel like I popped around 16 weeks, but then iām quite short with not much room to go but out!
I felt first movement late with my son. Around 25 weeks. Odd flutters before then (maybe from 23 weeks) but nothing major. Iām 22 weeks on [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] with #2 and feel her at least a handful of times a day. [name_f]My[/name_f] placenta was anterior with my son and posterior this time. But there were issues with my son so reduced movements were regular.
I also popped around 28 weeks with my first and 21 weeks with my second! It took a while first time and maternity jeans helped me look pregnant!
We have decided on babyās name! [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Maia[/name_f]. Ok, so weāve decided on most of it just not the spelling which do you prefer? For the MY-uh pronunciation. Middle name will be [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. Big bro is [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] go together more but Iām interested to hear if [name_f]Maia[/name_f] would be easier for pronunciation. Thanks! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] youāre all well.
Awww congrats @Rosebeth!!! Girls are awesome!!
@eireann I donāt think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is at all confusing to pronounce and I agree it looks better with your sonās name
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] are beautiful together, and I agree, I wouldnāt worry about the spelling. So lovely!
@eireann Another vote for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]! A lovely sibset and I think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is quite intuitive for the pronunciation youāre looking for.
@justlikeflorida I felt both my first and second babies moving at around 17 weeks but it was very small, a bit like popcorn popping
Iām 22 weeks now and heartburn is my only bother right now and soon fixed by some Gaviscon Iāve just posted a thread under baby girl names as hubby and I are really struggling to find a name that feels like āthe oneā. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] like itās much harder to name a second child of the same gender because weāve already used our āfavouriteā name!
@eireann [name_f]Maya[/name_f] / [name_f]Maia[/name_f] is lovely. I slightly prefer the [name_f]Maia[/name_f] spelling
Our girlās first name will be [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], honoring my dad. For a middle name, weāre stuck between RĆŗbĆ½ (love the sound and personal significance, maybe a bit boring next to her brothersā names), EyglĆ³ (Vienna EyglĆ³ probably doesnāt have the best flow), [name_f]Mehetabel[/name_f] (my favorite, I think) and [name_f]Betsabe[/name_f] (I like it, but doesnāt feel like the one).
Are you having a daughter? Congratulations!
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] [name_f]Mehitabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] RĆŗbĆ½ would indeed suit her perfectly!
Yes, we got the result from our NIPT (blood test) this week, and found itās a girl [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is delighted. Not that he wouldnāt have been happy with another boy, but he really wanted the chance to raise a daughter. Iām still getting used to the idea of having a girl, even though my gut feeling had been telling me it was a girl all along.
Howās everyone doing?
Iām 24 weeks tomorrow, baby girl is good and has a name. Bought her a personalised blanket and dummy clip so it all seems very real now! Iām now buying the last minute things, more baby and me toiletries and then I need to buy her a wardrobe and chest of drawers and then Iām all done. Her name will be [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], middle name [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. It was one of the first names I loved but my surname ends in L so I was worried it sounded silly. I was definitely overreacting though!
I have a staycation booked for the end of [name_u]August[/name_u] where Iāll be 31 weeks, booked pre pregnancy, and Iām dreading it! But once thatās over with then Iāll be nesting and packing for the hospital. Itās come round so fast.
Iām 15 weeks now. The worst of my early pregnancy symptoms is over, so thatās a good thing. Looking forward to the 20 week scan so I can see baby again.
Weāre going on holiday to [name_f]Iceland[/name_f] soon. Traveling with four young children while pregnant will be a challenge, but Iām also excited to go back to the country I still consider my home. Iām a bit nervous about flying while pregnant, but I suppose it will be okay.
