@LibelluleClaire[name_f][/name_f] that is wonderful, congratulations! How fun to have 3 girls [name_f][/name_f]- I am one of 3 girls so I can definitely see the appeal.

Im also 1 of 3 girls! And my husband is the only boy of 3. So while it would’ve been fun to have had a boy, (and my husband was kind of hoping for a boy this time) girls are definitely what we’re more familiar and comfortable with.

How is everyone feeling?

Ive reached 2nd trimester and that stage of pregnancy where I feel totally fine. And im constantly questioning if Im still pregnant as most of my pregnancy symptoms have disappeared. Except round ligament pain! I didnt have round ligament pain until 3rd trimester with the girls, but this time it has hit hard.

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband has 3 brothers (and one sister) and I do really like the idea of our son having a brother, so for that reason I would like another boy. But a girl would be great too.

[name_f][/name_f]

We had our 12 week ultrasound and baby looked great! I’ve had pretty mild symptoms this time around so I was a bit worried, but everything seems to be fine. We opted for the NIPT this time, so we should know the sex here in a week or two. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband thought we would know right away and asked this morning what it was :joy:

[name_f][/name_f]

Our darling 13 month old is almost killing me at night. Sleep has been terrible lately, to the extent that I was just up for hours and hours last night. He has never been a good sleeper but I don’t know what is going on right now [name_f][/name_f]- honestly this is like newborn type disrupted sleep. He does have a canker sore for the first time and maybe that is causing him pain at night (he doesn’t seem to notice it all day), but when I tried Tylenol the other night that did nothing so maybe not. I need some sleep soon though for sure.

I swear once you get to a certain point kids know somehow. I know when I was pregnant with my second, my first also went through sleep regression. (Which could totally be normal stage but its a lot more intense when you’re pregnant)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] littles are 4 & 5 right now, but they have definitely been a lot more snuggly since finding out Im pregnant. Its snuggles and cuddles all day long.

[name_f][/name_f]

Today I feel great! Which has actually totally freaked me out. But I dont have any worrying signs of anything being wrong so Im trying to remind myself not to get ahead of myself.

We are having another boy! I was surprised (not sure why) at first but I am really warming to the idea of two little boys, especially since they’ll be so close in age. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I had a very hard time picking out a name for our first, so naming a second boy sounds like a real challenge but that’s a small downside in the grand scheme of things.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] toddler has been sleeping slightly better lately, which is great. After several horrific nights he actually had one night where he did a 5 hour stretch in his crib, which has never in his lifetime happened before [name_f][/name_f] That was only once but it has been better. Getting pregnant completely dried up my milk supply and that has been a big adjustment overnight I think. He still nurses some for comfort, but I am walking that back too.

[name_f][/name_f]

It is a little disconcerting how good you can feel in your second trimester [name_f][/name_f]- sort of like being in the eye of a hurricane!

Congratulations on another little boy! And yay for sleep! Hopefully you will get at least a few more good nights in there.

[name_f][/name_f]

Two little boys will be so much fun! Especially close in age. I feel like same gender siblings when they’re so close in age are just a special kind of relationship. They understand what the other is going through better than any one else.

[name_f][/name_f]

We’re struggling with a name for this one as well, [name_f][/name_f] we were sure this baby would be a boy and had 2 solid boy name options. But for girls we’re struggling to find something we love (and hasnt been used by family! For some reason this time around all of our favorites seem to have recently been used)

[name_f][/name_f]

And yes 2nd trimester is weird. It’s like this lull where a lot of my pregnancy symptoms have gone, [name_f][/name_f] but i don’t feel huge yet and uncomfortable. And Im guessing I have an anterior placenta again this pregnancy. Im almost 18 weeks, and [name_m]Ive[/name_m] felt some movements but they’ve been far and few between and they are only on the sides and low, just like my first. So Im not even feeling a lot of movement. And woth 2 other kids [name_m]Ive[/name_m] been so busy I honestly forget Im pregnant. Its just a weird time.

I think it just gets harder naming subsequent kids, especially when they are the same gender! I agree though on especially when they are close it is nice for them to be the same, I always used to think I wanted my second to be whatever sex my first one was.

[name_f][/name_f]

I have a posterior placenta again and I swear even at only 13 weeks and some change I have felt baby a couple times in the last day or two. Only if I happen to be laying down, and it is definitely faint enough that I am not sure. And I know that is very early, but I felt my first pretty early as well. It has sort of taken me by surprise, I keep sort of forgetting that I am pregnant! With my first I was just so focused on him all the time, it felt like we were a little team. This time I don’t think about the baby nearly as much, and if I am honest don’t feel as much of a sense of connection at this point. I am hoping as I feel him move more that will help, and I think part of it is just that I am a lot busier nowadays!

I had posterior with #2 and I know I felt her at 13 weeks. It blew my mind since I didnt feel my first until 23 weeks!

I definitely didnt feel as attached to my 2nd as early as I did to my first (and if Im being honest, I hardly even have time to spare to think about this one) but I know this time around the attachment will come.

I was happy when I learned it was another posterior placenta so I could feel things earlier. Although I wonder if an anterior placenta cushions things at all near the end when they are just kicking you silly…

[name_f][/name_f]

I’m not really (mostly) worried that I won’t feel attached to the baby in time, especially once he is born, but it is definitely a distinct change. I would ideally like to have settled on a name before the birth this time, I think that would help. [name_f]My[/name_f] son wasn’t named until he was close to 24 hours old, and there was nothing wrong with that, but it took me some time to get used to his name honestly. However given the incredible stalemate we have on names I don’t know if that will be possible. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband has (currently at least) shot down [name_m]Damian[/name_m], which I think is my current favorite, because it is the name of the teenage son in a neighbor family of his parents’. Admittedly the family are sort of family friends, but still I don’t see why that is a problem. I also suggested [name_m]Osiel[/name_m] and my husband said no because it isn’t a biblical name (I have no idea why that is important to him), and of course it is…I made a list of names I would be open to and put it on the fridge and I guess we will argue about it every few weeks from now to [name_f]December[/name_f] :woman_facepalming:

We have our anatomy scan scheduled for tomorrow. Which is both super exciting and a little anxiety inducing!
[name_f][/name_f]But [name_f]Ive[/name_f] finally[name_f][/name_f] been able to feel her moving fairly consistently. [name_f][/name_f] Definitely thinking though that I have another anterior placenta as I can only feel her really low. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow!

@LibelluleClaire[name_f][/name_f] I hope your anatomy scan went well! I have mine next week actually. I have been feeling baby pretty consistently lately, but I know I have another posterior placenta so it doesn’t surprise me. I do think he has been a bit quieter in his movements than his brother was at this stage, but it is still so early it could just be whatever position this baby prefers to hang out in is less impactful for me.

Things went well! [name_f]Baby[/name_f] was super cooperative and everything checked out. She’s still a super quiet baby, (which definitely makes me nervous) [name_m]Even[/name_m] during the ultrasound, she pretty much just slept all the way through, gave a few kicks here and there when the tech really had to push. Though they did confirm another anterior placenta, which explains a lot of the lack of movement. And I just remind myself, with my first who also had an anterior placenta I didnt feel anything at all[name_f][/name_f] until about this point in pregnancy.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband is really hoping this is a good indication she’s gonna be a chill baby. Our second moved constantly in the womb, and was very unccoperative with ultrasounds etc. And she is definitely our wild child.

Ugh we must got back from a 3 week vacation, [name_f][/name_f] and there is mold growing across the ceiling in my bathroom! It’s been a chronic fight against this mold since we’ve moved into this townhouse. [name_f][/name_f] Luckily no one seems to be having any symptoms of exposure. But had anyone dealt with mold during pregnancy? I know the risk to it hurting baby is low, but I need some reassurance is making me panic.

Also my almost 6 year old has requested now multiple times that she does not want to be present when the baby is born.

Which is kind of funny because we have never hinted or suggested that she would be there, and we have reassured her multiple times that she wont go to the hospital with us, that was never our plan, and someone would come and stay with her and her sister until the baby comes. I think she has seen too many animals give birth and the thought of me going through that is something she has decided she does not want to see.

Though now I have this irrational fear that Im going to have the baby at home, (as I tend to have quick labors and this will be my 3rd) with only her there to help and traumatize her even more!

@LibelluleClaire[name_f][/name_f] I am glad everything looked good on the scan! Ours went well too, although my toddler had hand foot and mouth so my husband had to watch him and couldn’t go to the scan with me. [name_f]Baby[/name_f] was pretty wiggling during the scan, but I think he is quieter than my first was. Although maybe I am remembering later on, not this stage. [name_m]Or[/name_m] maybe he prefers to hang out in a different position. Later on my first really liked to be sunny side up (which I think contributed to my really long labor, although he did finally flip before exiting), but maybe this one prefers to face in towards my spine.

[name_f][/name_f]

We have had issues with mold on our bathroom ceiling as well, although ours is because our vent in there is old but very hard to replace because it is old so we haven’t. We painted the ceiling last fall with a paint that supposedly kills mold and so far that has worked, but we will see.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have family/friends close by to watch your girls when the time comes? I have some extended family in town but our immediate families (parents, siblings) are an hour-1.5 away. Which isn’t terrible but isn’t perfect. I am hoping my mother in law, who doesn’t work (nearly everyone else does), will come stay before my due date and be able to stick around through the birth/hospital stay. But she wants to go to Mexico (my husband’s family is Mexican) for a wedding later in the month so if baby is late she may have to leave. [name_f]My[/name_f] sister is a college senior and I think around the time my mother in law would have to leave is when her finals get over, so I am thinking of asking her to be our backup if baby drags his feet. But frankly none of this is ideal. And my toddler is still so little I just hate the idea of leaving him even for just a night (hopefully, I only stayed one day after my first). I have never been gone for the night before. I know I should practice before the birth, but we will see.

I guess hand foot and mouth is really bad this year. [name_f]My[/name_f] girls just got over it, and their cousins across the country had it a few a weeks ago.

[name_f][/name_f]

But Im glad your scan looked good! Its always reassuring to see them in there and know everything looks good! As for your MIL not knowing exactly when you’re going to need help is definitely the hardest part of planning, I know I hate asking for people to just come and hang out for a month, but when baby could show up any where between 36 & 42 weeks its hard to plan for exact dates.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] SIL lives close by, but she works. The rest of our family lives in different states. But neither of my in laws work and my dad is now retired so they could possibly come stay with us for a few weeks. Our biggest problem is they are all older and its hard for them to sleep on an air mattress or couch for extended periods, and we really dont have any other space for them to stay. But we’ll figure it out, as a last resort we have some fantastic neighbors who would be willing to take the girls if I had to run to the hospital quickly.

[name_f][/name_f]

And luckily our hospital is only 5 min. down the road so the Im really not too concerned about accidentally giving birth at home!

Officially in the 3rd trimester! Hoping these next few months go by quick!

[name_f][/name_f]

Though they are predicting a covid surge here soon and since they’ve revoked some of the vaccines my 4yr old cant get vaccinated this fall, which makes me a little nervous for baby (and my 4 yr old) since 4yr old will be in preschool and there’s no way to keep illness at bay in a preschool class. Is it terrible that I hope if she does get it, she gets it before baby comes so it won’t be as big of concern once baby is here. Though obviously I would prefer her not not get it at all if she didn’t have to. But I’m afraid we may not have a choice this year.

[name_m]Happy[/name_m] third trimester! I hope it is as quick and smooth as a third trimester can be.

[name_f][/name_f]

I am stressing a bit about vaccines too. I would like my son to get a covid booster (he’s not even going to be 2 until the spring), but he did get his 3 initial doses and I know he has had covid at least once (tested positive once, likely had it more given how many times he was sick his first winter). I would like the extra insurance for him, but I am guessing he has enough built up immunity now he will be okay either way. But I REALLY want to get the updated shot myself for the new baby [name_f][/name_f]- honestly I will pay out of pocket, or drive, or lie, or all 3 if I have to to get it. Plus of course I’ll get a flu shot and the RSV maternal vaccine. [name_f]My[/name_f] OB thought I would still be able to get it at my last appointment, but that was before the most recent restrictions. And I saw a video on Instagram (not my best source clearly, but still) that there is another meeting on Sept 19 to potentially further restrict it, so I may see if I can find a way to get it before then. Ideally I would wait until closer to early [name_m]October[/name_m] for the best efficacy, but hey anything is better than nothing!

I have an appointment next week and I’m hoping I will be able to get it then but I dont know if they’ve even released the updated one yet, we’ve even considered driving up to [name_f]Canada[/name_f] if necessary, which would be possible for us, but super impractical. We will totally pay out of pocket if necessary, for all of us (my oldest got really really sick last time she had it and my 4 year old is prone to really bad chest infections, though they’ll both probably be fine if they got it now)

[name_f][/name_f]

It makes me nervous and I kinda want to get all my vaccines now before any other changes happen.
