Baby Berries Due October / November / December 2026

It still feels early to me to be making this thread, since I’m just at 8 weeks this week and things still feel uncertain, but the last time around I joined a similar thread at only 4 weeks or so it has felt like being patient to wait even this long.

Hopefully as we get into springtime more people will be able to join! I’m happy to make an EDD list if people are interested. My tentative EDD right now is October 12th, but I won’t be able to have my dating ultrasound until 12 weeks unfortunately.

So far the most exciting things about this pregnancy, aside from the pregnancy itself of course, are that I haven’t vomited or had terrible insomnia. Those were the most memorable symptoms from my first trimester the last time around and it feels very lucky to be sleeping and keeping food down. I’m still nauseated a good amount, and am pretty limited in what appeals to me, but I’ll take it!

Due Dates:

El (NameSearchAccount) - 10/12

river_dweller - 10/18

Meg (starless) - 11/19

Nessa (WildroseofJulliet) - mid-December

lunette - 12/17

CareyBoBarey - 12/22

Hello everyone!
[name_f][/name_f]I just had my first ultrasound this morning, and I’m reading 8 weeks 1 day [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]The[/name_m] due date is Oct. 18th.

[name_f][/name_f]

Right now I haven’t experienced too much morning sickness. Though I was just out of the country last week and the plane rides there and back were terrible for my stomach.
[name_f][/name_f]I had more nausea at the beginning of 6 weeks, and it’s picked up a little bit again at 8 weeks. Jetlag/insomnia is also terrible right now.

[name_f][/name_f]

I’m beyond excited and hoping to share more updates soon

Yes I’ve been really lucky. I’m hoping I haven’t jinxed it :crossed_fingers:t3:lol But my husband and I also share a home with my parents. [name_f]So[/name_f] it’s been a blessing to keep this secret as long as we have so far.

By my math I am finishing up the first trimester this week, which is hard to believe. I don’t feel ready for some of the changes that will be coming up if things continue to progress well - in addition to the usual things people need to adjust to with a second, I also will be relocating my office space at home (I work from home) and making the current space a bedroom for either the new baby or for my toddler. Both my office and the space I will be moving into are sort of disasters right now as they sort of act as storage space, so getting everything moved around is likely going to be a large project. Hopefully I’ll have some energy back soon after a very exhausted first 12 weeks. The insomnia did come back in the form of waking a lot at night, and was still going strong last night when I tried skipping Unisom, but at least the Unisom is mostly helpful for me to get sleep.

My dating ultrasound is Wednesday and that is exciting! I’m still annoyed that they are making me wait to do the NIPT until after it, but I am hoping I can convince the provider I am seeing at my regular appointment tomorrow to write an order for the blood work that I can go and use as soon as possible after the scan. We still are undecided about finding out the sex ahead of time, but we want information about any major genetic concerns as soon as possible. Fingers crossed for everything to be uneventful!

Sorry about the double update, but I had the dating scan and NT scan today. Fetus is measuring at 12+2, which is exactly what I expected, and hopefully soon the OB will put in the orders for the NIPT. If that screening looks normal, we will probably not get any of the invasive screenings. I find I am having outsized worry about neural tube defects still, even though the doctor said that was unlikely based on the unltrasound and I could see with my own untrained eyes that the skull and spine looked very normal. I think it’s because my job sometimes means I hear a lot about people’s heartbreaking situations and one of them stuck with me.

I am also kind of convinced we are having a boy. In my dreams so far it has been a boy, and except one night when I also think I had a stomach bug the nausea has been so much less intense this time. [name_f]Science[/name_f] doesn’t totally back it up except for higher risk of HG with girls (and I certainly know of people with HG who had boys), but anecdotally it sure is a common difference. This is motivation to try to figure out a boy’s name I really love that isn’t [name_m]Linden[/name_m]. I love [name_m]Linden[/name_m], but it feels a hair too matchy with [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] given that both are trees and the ending sounds the name in our accent.

So thrilled (and extremely surprised) to announce I’m joining this thread!
My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for over 6 years, with really no explanation why we were unable to conceive on our own. We went through fertility treatments a few years ago, and I was able to get pregnant twice, but unfortunately both of those pregnancies ended pretty quickly. We decided to take a long break from fertility treatments for my mental health, and I’ve honestly spent the last year or so trying to accept the fact that I might never have a baby. Well, little did I know, we would randomly get pregnant without any fertility treatments or medication over 6 years after we first started trying!
I’m currently 8w1d, and just had my first ultrasound where everything was looking perfect. I know it’s still pretty early and I’m not out of the woods yet, but the relief and happiness I feel after seeing my baby’s heartbeat is just completely off the charts. My current due date is [name_f]November[/name_f] 19th.
We haven’t told anyone yet, and aren’t planning to until we are out of the first trimester, but I just couldn’t resist posting here!

Wow, what a wonderful surprise! I’m sorry that you have had such a difficult fertility journey, but thrilled that you had such a great first ultrasound. These earliest weeks are so hard with all the uncertainty and I will be sending lots of hope out into the world for you and your baby.

NIPT results are in - everything they tested for was negative, so it seems like a chromosomally normal baby! Last time around they asked if we wanted to know the sex and I had said no, but this time no one asked and I didn’t think to ask for that, and when I was reading through the results I saw that the chromosomes are consistent with a male.

I don’t feel any gender disappointment, but I do feel more worry about knowing how to relate than if it were another girl. I know it isn’t really totally rational. My husband’s mom sees more similarities between herself and him than with his sister. I know my mom has totally different relationships with me and with my sister. I work with male clients and in my job there has to be a good relationship for it to work, and sex has never been the determining factor in the quality of my work. But the worry is there for now at least.

Anyway, now to say goodbye to my long, long list of possible sister names for Ro. I loved those names more, but at least a smaller list makes the choosing a little easier (or at least it did last time).

@NameSearchAccount A boy!!! That’s so exciting, congratulations!!! But more importantly, a healthy baby! I think that no matter what you’ll bond and do beautifully with your son as you have with your daughter, but I definitely understand the feelings you are having! :pink_heart:

Thank you! There is a lot of relief in knowing he is healthy. I had a nightmare over the weekend about it, so I was definitely carrying some stress about it.

I was really surprised when my NIPT results came back and said I was having a boy. I really thought I was having a girl.

Maybe I could join you guys? I feel so hesitant… we lost our last baby, and the pregnancy test [name_m]Friday[/name_m] said no, but the one today was a resounding YES. It’s way too early… but after losing a baby, every day with your child seems like an unexpected blessing. [name_f]December[/name_f] 22?

Here’s to hope

@southern.maple Both times my gut feeling has been right, and my dreams have been mostly right (except the nightmare about medical issues), but I think that was probably random chance more than anything!

@kapaza Of course! I will be holding hope along with you. Today you are pregnant.

Hi again, I’m currently in my 13th week. I would definitely say that my symptoms have been fairly mild; that I’m mostly nauseous in the morning. Week 9-11 seemed to be the worst of it.

Telling our families we are pregnant was the cherry in top

I had my most recent ultrasound last week and everything came back low risk and negative to any health concerns. So I’m rather relieved baby is doing great! Although baby has not been cooperative during ultrasounds (not facing the right way for measurements) and while listening with the doctors doppler. Lol Though the doppler picked up it’s heartbeat we didn’t get to hear it today during our appointment.

Update with me, I have low blood pressure, so I’ve been advised to start taking electrolytes daily and/or increase my salt intake. I guess I’ve been eating too “clean” lately, but baby has also made it hard for me to eat anything packed in sugar or sodium as of late.
I’m also taking a pill to raise my thyroid levels slightly. And my doctor suggested I start taking a pill at night to control my nausea in the morning.

Fingers crossed I get better results on myself soon, but at least baby is doing great
