Beloved Renesmee

So I’m not a fan of Twlight. & I dont know if Id want that associate with a name, is it all you think of?

If you can get past twlight how do you feel about it?

I feel it flows, is or would have been unique & if it wasnt for twlight I might have been smitten.

[name_f]Renee[/name_f] means Reborn & [name_f]Esme[/name_f] means [name_f]Beloved[/name_f]

Quite honestly, I think it’s silly and not many will ever get past the Twilight association. I’ve never read the books nor have I seen the movies but I still associate the name with the book. The name doesn’t have a nice flow either, tbh.

Considering it was made up for the book, yea, that’s all I think of. I generally find smoosh named don’t come out very well anyway, and this one just has a whiney sound that’s very annoying to me. Sorry.

I wholly dislike the name and every time I see it I have to suggest Esmeree. It’s an Arthurian name. It has a similar feel but with more substance in my opinion.

I think that it sounds very made up and will forever be associated with the Twilight saga which (in my opinion) is something I would never want to be associated with. If not for the Twilight reference, it might work, but I wouldn’t use it. hope I helped

I agree with all the others. Much as I can appreciate [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] (and much as I loathe the books and films!), I would never saddle a child with the name. It’s just a joke. The meanings of Esmee and [name_f]Renee[/name_f] are lovely, and I even think Esmee [name_f]Renee[/name_f] or [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] would be lovely (matchy though they are as a combo). I want to like it, especially since it seems to be what you’re looking for, but I just can’t. I would use either Esmee or [name_f]Renee[/name_f], personally.

Oh! What about [name_f]Wren[/name_f] [name_f]Esme[/name_f] as a combo instead?

Well I like it. There are worst names out there. Yes people will associate with Twilight right but if this doesn’t bother you I say go for it. People will forget about Twilight when you daughter is 10. [name_m]Just[/name_m] dont nn her [name_f]Nessie[/name_f] :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope you find what you are looking for.

Good luck

There is absolutely no way on [name_f]Earth[/name_f] I would ever name my child a name made up for Twilight.

But it is quite beautiful.

I actually really like the flow and sound of it. I just dislike the fact that is a “smoosh” name and I detest Twilight as well. Though if it wasn’t a Twilight name it would definitely be in my top five! Luckily, Esmee is a very nice alternative.

YES this is so much prettier. Not sure why but [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] just makes me think of a runny nose.

I appreciate everyones honesty, I cant really get past twlight either. Thejollyfinch thank you foe the suggestion but I dislike wren but Esmeree Iis somthing to think about… [name_f]Esme[/name_f] is nice I just feel like its missing something which is how I fell about [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] & its core connection.

There’s also Esmeray (which sounds a bit more like [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] a bit jumbled up!), which is a lovely Turkish name.

I second the Esmeree suggestion.
I love the name [name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] as well but no one in this generation will get past tha Twilight association

Sad truth, too bad its so popular I couldn’t live with a child being told about some teen vampire baby that I never even had a interest in

Oh I think Esmeree or Esmeray are beautiful suggestions.
[name_f]Renesmee[/name_f] will forever and always be tied to the Twilight books.
And honestly, if you search the name here on NB you will find that
many berries (myself included) have used it as an example of smoosh names gone wrong.
(Luckily the "are these names too Twilight posts have gone down in number now that the movies are done with -
but Renesme will never come off that list.)

I really loathe this name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] when I read the books, I baulked at this name. However, I really dislike all made up names. I like the above suggestion of [name_f]Wren[/name_f] [name_f]Esme[/name_f], if the name has really sold you. But I really think that people will just think you are a massive twilight fan.

I think it sounds too mouthy and it struck me as awful the first time I heard it, but I like Esmerie.

I hear you on that one… it is a lovely name I will never get to use.

i actually like it and while i love the books think if i actually used it (i wont - because of the books lol) i wouldnt feel like i would be thinking ‘Twilight name’ all the time

i also dont get why people hate it so much when there are MUCH worse combos and names out there lol
