Names that have never been in the top 100 but are currently in the top 500 (this information comes from SSA 2018 list). The 2019 information has of right now not been released so this is as current as I can get! I’m putting their current rank, and the highest they’ve ever been plus the year that happened! I expected [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] to be higher but I can imagine seeing [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] both on this list that if they had been combined they would probably have made the top 100.

Nicolas is surprising but again I imagine [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] is more popular. Perhaps I am more surprised [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] is so high.

Avery is not surprising to me in that people comment so much about it being a boy name but often in the context of discussing its popularity for girls.

I’m also surprised at how high [name_u]Gael[/name_u] is! And [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is definitely going to break through the top 100 for the US soon!

Surprised how few of them interest me.

I like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] so far. Maybe a few more will jump out at me lower down the rankings.

Even though it’s a different spelling, I wonder if [name_u]Gael[/name_u] is influenced by the Hunger Games?

I think that this one is pronounced ([name_m]Guy[/name_m]-[name_f]El[/name_f]), the spanish way, and I don’t know! People could’ve liked it in the movie but to honor their heritage gone the hispanic way. I looked up it’s name card and there seems to be a popular Mexican actor with this name so I think it’s really come to people’s attention!

I’m surprised that [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_u]Bennett[/name_u], [name_u]Jonah[/name_u], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] or [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], and [name_m]Xander[/name_m] haven’t ranked in the top 10. I feel like [name_u]Kai[/name_u] has sky-rocketed recently to being quite popular, and [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_u]Bennett[/name_u], and [name_m]Xander[/name_m] are all pretty common in my mind, not to mention [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/Elliott!

I know! Some of these feel so popular to me compared to some of the names that are actually in the top 100! I think that some of these ranked in my state’s personal top 100 but didn’t make it to the national one!
