note: if i have made some mistakes/missed some names (which is likely because of human error) let me know

which decade’s names do you like the most? :mantelpiece_clock: my favourite is the 1910s - i feel as though the names popular back then have a dark academia sort of vibe!

could you find your own name, and was it most popular in the decade you were born in? mine certainly was! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So interesting! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite decades for girls are the 1940s, 1990s, and 2000s, and for boys I like the 1940s, 1960s, 1990s, and 2000s.

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is on this list, and did peak in the UK in the decade I was born! However, in the US where I’m from, it didn’t peak until the 2010s.

@EagleEyes wow that’s really interesting! perhaps your parents have a more British naming style :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Interesting!! I think my favourite era for girls were 1900 and then all the ones from 2000s onwards. For boys, I like either 2020 or 1900.

[name_f]My[/name_f] name got popular just after i was born! Literally leapt up in the next few years then stayed at the top :woman_facepalming: not surprised it rated highly in 2000/10s

@Greyblue my sister’s name also became much popular after she was born - she’s only come across a handful her age but now in a school playground I would expect it would be full of girls with her name!

edit: I just checked and actually where we live now, her name has the same popularity ranking now as to when she was born! by chance she must not have come across many :joy:

This is so interesting! In the UK my name peaked in the 80s (which I was not expecting, given it’s quite a 2000s name here - and that’s when I was born).

As for my favourites, I’d say my girls are mainly 2000s-2020s with a bit of 1900s and 1930s while my boys are mainly 1900s, 2000s and 2020s.
