Thinking of a boy’s name for big sisters [name_f]Emeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. We like old-fashioned names from the 1700-1800s (obviously ;), and love names with [name_m]French[/name_m]/English origin. We always liked [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and still do, but it’s so popular. Also really like [name_m]George[/name_m] with the girls’ names.
Any suggestions between the two, or other ideas that fit?
Thanks, there are some great ideas in here. I’m leaning towards [name_m]George[/name_m], but had never thought of [name_m]Louis[/name_m] which is cute. I also love the nickname [name_u]Gus[/name_u] - not for [name_m]George[/name_m] but just in general.
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m]! I have a [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] was my other top contender! I love your other names so I think we have a similar style!
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] & [name_m]George[/name_m] are both great choices, but you’re right about [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] being so popular. That being said; I pick [name_m]George[/name_m]. You can’t go wrong w/either though.
[name_u]Remy[/name_u], [name_m]Monty[/name_m], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_m]Bastian[/name_m], [name_m]Archibald[/name_m], [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] and [name_u]Claude[/name_u] popped into my mind.
Thanks for these ideas. Funny, [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] was on our list when we were pregnant with our second baby! I do love that name but don’t love the nn [name_m]Art[/name_m].
I do like the old fashioned names but I think some are just too popular especially [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] etc. I think there are some gems that go perfectly with your girls names too. I love your daughter’s names, beautiful, classy but not overused or too popular.
What about [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Roderick[/name_m], [name_m]Gregory[/name_m], [name_u]Francis[/name_u], [name_m]Edmond[/name_m], [name_m]Simon[/name_m]?
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is so perfect with your girls names! It’s a classic name so I wouldn’t be too worried about its popularity, it has always been and always will be popular, but it seems to stay around through trends and it ages well. There might be another [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] in his class but you never know. I also think [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is just perfect with your girls names. As much as I love [name_m]George[/name_m] I don’t think it goes as well with your girls names as it doesn’t offer that [name_m]French[/name_m] vibe imo, but it certainly doesn’t clash with their names and is an excellent name. I also like that your children’s names would be sort of tied in meaning if you went with [name_m]George[/name_m]; [name_f]Emeline[/name_f] meaning “industrious”, [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] meaning “ruler of an estate”, and [name_m]George[/name_m] meaning “farmer”. All hard working, down to earth names!
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think that [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] has more of a [name_m]French[/name_m] vibe than [name_m]George[/name_m]? I am concerned about how popular they are but probably shouldn’t be. I do love my girls names, and also love how uncommon they are. So it would be ideal to find a similar uncommon name I love with boys - but it seems so much harder!
Another name that we liked in the past that sort of fits the [name_m]French[/name_m]/English vibe is [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] - but I was concerned it was a little too dorky. I love [name_m]Gil[/name_m]!
