Choosing a middle name for ...

[b]After thinking long and HARD (really hard decision, lol) about what we’re going to be naming our baby girl #2 my family and I have finally decided on the perfect name(s).

Our baby girl #1 just recently turned two, and her name is [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Kaelyn[/name_f], so of course we wanted to chose something that sounded good and decent with her name without being too matchy or rhymey.

Our first choice was [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] … Which I still love, but I think the whole [name_f]Mia[/name_f] & [name_f]Ava[/name_f] combo is waay over used, and giving both my girls 3 letter names ending in A would make it hard to choose another name if we had another girl in the future, also [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is so popular now that I think it’s going out of style. I personally hate waay over used names, ideas…

So, we’ve decided to go with the name [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]. I have always loved the name [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], and no, it’s not a typo, I love it so much more spelled with two L’s instead of just one. I think it makes it’s more unique and different.

Ok so here’s the problem, i’m having a hard time deciding on a middle name for baby [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]!
My mom and husband both love [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] LastName.
But i’m not super fond of it because of it having two flower names, i think it looks weird, but I do think it’s beautiful, so i’m not sure what to choose?
I had no other ideas or options for middle names besides [name_f]Michelle[/name_f], which would be naming her after my husband’s middle name [name_u]Michael[/name_u], but of course the female version of [name_u]Michael[/name_u] which would be [name_f]Michelle[/name_f].
But my husband, nor my mom likes [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] at all, i’m not crazy over it, it was just another idea i was throwing around…

So… Does anyone have any other ideas or unique names that would go great with [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]? I want something that sounds normal, and like a HUMAN name… Sorry but i’ve seen some name on these sites that just make you pause and go … what? … lol

I’m due in 5 days, she will be born on 01/05/15 via c section. :)[/b]

I don’t think [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is bad but it wouldn’t be my first choice. Here are some other options that I liked right away. Maybe they are your style too…

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful in my opinion! What about…
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]/[name_u]Noel[/name_u]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

Thanks for the quick responses  I do love [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], I’m just keeping my options open for something better… and thanks for all the suggestions!!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Michaella[/name_f] ?

[name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Kaelyn[/name_f] and:
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] … [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (symbolic of [name_u]January[/name_u]) … [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]Janvier[/name_u] ([name_m]French[/name_m] version)
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] … [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] … [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Garnet[/name_f] (gemstone/birthstone for [name_u]January[/name_u])
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous! And i don’t even like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] that much, but it sounds amazing in the combo!

Another options:
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or even [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
I hope I helped and I hope everything goes amazing in your labour and with your baby!

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is pretty, but I would go with a longer middle name:

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline
Lilly Meredith[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Marin[/name_f] (muh-rin)
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]/[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Deanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

The last three are my favorites. I think a longer middle would be best.

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]

I didn’t see my favorite so I’ll add it:

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds pretty, but is a bit to flowery for my personal taste.

What about [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]Mika[/name_u] ([name_m]Mike[/name_m]-uh)

The obvious feminization of [name_u]Michael[/name_u] to me is [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] actually sounds really nice and I also kind of enjoy that both girls have a “kay” sound in their middle names, but that might make you hesitate due to not being able to keep up a theme. There is also [name_u]Micah[/name_u].

I agree that [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a lot of flower but you could get away with it as [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a very common middle name and has somewhat risen above the word-name category due to its long use.

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Briana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Makena[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Amaya[/name_f]

Honestly, there are tons of names that flow well with [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] as a first.

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is pretty but I agree that it is a slight flower overload.

When we were considering [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a first name we kept coming back to [name_f]Beth[/name_f]. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]. Not [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] as it just didn’t seem right with [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. But then there was the issue of using just [name_f]Beth[/name_f], I’m not one for using nicknames as full name so this put me off so I you can get past that I think [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f] would be great.

Some other suggestions…
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] Penope
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]

Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m] with both [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f]!

I agree w/the pp who suggested [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]…& I love the spelling [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]. If [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]'s not your style, though, there are lots of other related options that might work for you.
