[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_f]Astoria[/name_f] [name_m]Burns[/name_m] (18) is co-captain of the cheerleading squad and Yulia’s best friend. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is a Canadian national who immigrated to the U.S because of her father’s job. If you took one look at [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], you would have never guessed she was part of the cheerleading squad: she’s a punk through and through and is usually dress-coded at least once a week because her spikes on her leather jackets are considered “weapons”. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] gets in trouble with school administration a lot, she gets a soft pass because she’s an excellent student— most teachers like her due to her work ethic and general disposition.

Her mother and father are part of the punk subculture as well: her mother is a metal scream voice coach and her father makes custom guitars. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] vaguely remembers the story of how they were both in a band together, and she thinks it’s the greatest love story out there. Truthfully, [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] doesn’t know what she wants to do at university. She likes literature and thought about being a literature major, but she also wants to do music on the side. Not to mention how biochemistry has been calling her name since day one. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] knows that her parents would support her no matter what she chooses, but it’s the fact that she can’t choose. [name_f]Yulia[/name_f] has been very patient with her, and often listens to Morgan’s debate to herself whether or not she should double major in something. Like [name_f]Yulia[/name_f], she is the eldest of her siblings as well— she has two younger brothers. The brother closest in age to her is also punk, but the youngest one calls them “weird” and dresses like a frat boy. Morgan’s not very close with him, but she does put him in his place when she needs to.

Outside of cheerleading, Morgan’s in a indie rock/pop punk/folk punk (they like those genres a lot) band called Point of No Return and is their face and lead singer. They have a small, niche , but dedicated fanbase and have played small gigs around [name_u]Boston[/name_u] before. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] operates under the stage name Morgue, which she feels is quite fitting. All their names are related to death somehow, which is odd considering her bandmates/friend group (which includes Yulia) are very happy people. One day, [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] did a livestream on the band’s Instagram page of her before cheer practise, and everyone freaked out over [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] without her signature makeup and cheerleading outfit. She still finds that day very amusing.

Her squad, while most don’t listen to her genre of music, do promote Point of No Return on their socials a lot. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] finds that very sweet, and does love the squad. She can tell some of the younger squad members find some of her friends scary looking, which she jokes about with her friends.

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] and [name_f]Vasilisa[/name_f] get along very well, and [name_f]Yulia[/name_f] has some videos of [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] using baby talk with her cat. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is (jokingly) afraid that they’re going to be leaked.
