[name_m]Bakari[/name_m] [name_m]Lawson[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] (51) is Sufjan’s close friend. He directed Flannel Hearts in 1998, which was his second directing job. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] is still directing movies and he has a lot of different genres in his repertoire. He’s glad that his and Sufjan’s script is being produced next year and hopes that the movie is well received when it comes out. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] is currently directing a movie, a family drama called Broken Bonds. Despite lots of drama in the movie, everyone involved is really friendly or at least polite to one another. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] is always relieved when that turns out to be the case because he’s directed quite a few movies where the cast didn’t get along at all.
[name_m]Bakari[/name_m] has been married for years to his wonderful wife. They initially met during filming for Flannel Hearts, as his wife was a cast member. They got married in 2000 and now have two children, a 21 year old daughter and a 19 year old son. His daughter is acting in the movie he’s currently directing and it’s painfully obvious to him that she and his intern are trying to hide the fact that they’ve started dating. He thinks the boy is nice, if a little nervous and awkward. He finds the whole situation hilarious and is simply waiting until they deem it the right time to tell him. Bakari’s son is currently in college but still living at home like his sister. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] has always tried to spend as much time as possible with them and still does now. He and his son enjoy playing video games together, although his son is so much better than he is.
