Swimming is how their friendship blossomed, as [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and Sesi’s parents would reliably take them to the same local pool on a [name_m]Thursday[/name_m] to practice. While they were attending different schools, and lived in different areas, the two girls clicked almost immediately, spending all their time playing games and trading tips on the best ways of making progress. Seeing [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] pursue diving professionally is something [name_f]Anya[/name_f] never shies away from praising, a quality they joke ruins her intimidation factor, as she’s got a natural resting bitch face that can give the impression she’s stern - an assumption increased by her quieter nature.
In truth, Anya’s a very warm, encouraging and openly supportive person, in spite of having a bit of a perfectionist streak that means she can be absentminded when it comes to time keeping [her burnt food is proof of this]. To some degree, she also helped [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] prepare for the birth of her now-13-year-old sister. They were 7 when they became friends, and Anya’s brother was 2, coming to the pool with their mom. [name_f]Anya[/name_f] told [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] all about adjusting to his arrival, as she was quite uncertain initially about losing her status as only child, and while they had their spats in the early years, they’ve formed a strong bond as they’ve grown up. Anya’s love of water translated into her decision to become an oceanographer. She’s just started her masters degree, feeling a better educational background will aid her in getting a good job in the field. For now she’s working in retail at a small local wildlife reserve, namely gift shop duties and dealing with queries about children trying to eat wild berries, not her favourite pastime, however it pays the bills and really she’s quite a no frills person as it is…well until it comes to jewlery, then Anya’s a veritable magpie. She’s actually crafted her own over the years, nothing too fancy, but her close friends always receive a personalised necklace at some point of celebration.

Like [name_f]Sesi[/name_f], [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] loves fruits and the two enjoy fruity fashions. Her BFF [name_f]Kara[/name_f] has the coolest hair ever according to [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] and the two are great netball players. [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] has heard some information about the complicated family life of [name_f]Kara[/name_f] but since she’s outside of her family, she’s kept out of it and doesn’t let this influence her friendship with [name_f]Kara[/name_f] as a person. She teases her a little about the crush [name_f]Kara[/name_f] used to have on a 17-year-old boy, the boyfriend of [name_f]Junko[/name_f] “ [name_u]June[/name_u] “ Kobayashi (who also has extremely cool hair according to Sedna) but she still has a good vibe with both [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Kara[/name_f]. She’s helped [name_f]Kara[/name_f] in trying not to perceive [name_u]June[/name_u] as an adversary, seeing [name_u]June[/name_u] finds [name_f]Kara[/name_f] to be harmless. As for [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] herself, she’s bi-curious. Whenever [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] are around, [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] always asks curious questions about how they knew they liked females. At first it was really awkward, but [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] explained that [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] is just questioning her own sexuality and means nothing against them. Now they’re more open to talk to her and try to help her understand when she’s comfortable. The most awkward moment was when [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] asked [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] in front of [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and her brother, “They’re from a big extended Bosnian family? Is there anyone in their family who’s my age that I could uh, well maybe… befriend?” [name_f]Anya[/name_f] didn’t mind but [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] knew [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] was getting bored of being single and secretly wanted a new boyfriend…or girlfriend.
[name_f]Sedna[/name_f] usually gets nervous when speaking but she’s more confident in actions especially when having fun. [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] recently got new mini music speakers and they’re her fave thing now, blasting tunes in her room and dancing. Sometimes she’ll blast it at the pool but respects if [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] prefer to dive peacefully. She loves pie and likes to get homemade pies that her family enjoys baking, sometimes inviting [name_f]Kara[/name_f] over to share them with her. She’s interested in wildlife and is fond of Anya’s job in this, even though it’s just a temporary job. She’s at overnight camp every summer, where she loves feeling in nature. She’s also loved the pretty necklace that Anya’s made [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] and wants to learn to to craft like that, mainly since she only knows how to make lanyards from her time at camp. She’s curious and tends to get impatient but otherwise, [name_f]Sedna[/name_f] is cheery and st enjoys being herself.

The daughter of a retired hair and makeup artist in the film and television industry - who now runs her own extremely popular local salon - [name_u]Ari[/name_u] and her two siblings [her older brother and younger sister] have always made sure their mom gives them the coolest cuts: usually through the power of a puppy dog expression. It doesn’t mean that Ari’s oblivious to her mom’s talents though, quite the opposite: she loves praising her skills and always credits her for how [name_u]Ari[/name_u] has such enviable styles - be it the colour, cut or accessories chosen.
Following her mom’s footsteps is something Ari’s already clear about. Her dad, a firefighter, admits privately that he’s relieved his three children are all drawn to non-dangerous careers, as while he’s sincere and dedicated to his job, he wouldn’t want them to experience such danger. Like her mom, [name_u]Ari[/name_u] always praises his accomplishments too, a trait she picked up from her paternal abuela. It’s important to [name_u]Ari[/name_u] that those she cares about feel valued and worthy, as while she doesn’t have a name for it, she’s no stranger to imposter syndrome, usually where her grades are concerned.

This weekend this both really want to try to make cinnamon rolls! Ari’s flair for extravagant hairstyles on [name_f]Juju[/name_f] has been a fun shared activity, embraced by their parents. However, a recent impromptu haircut during babysitting led to parental displeasure, despite the [name_f]Juju[/name_f] looking good.
[name_f]Juju[/name_f] shares a close bond with her dad, they have a mutual love for fashion and enjoy trips to the mall together . [name_f]Juju[/name_f] dreams of becoming a fashion designer for Target . On her recent birthday, her dad gifted her a children’s sewing machine and she made him a Hawaiian print tie for his birthday. [name_f]Juju[/name_f] also made her and her best friends cute matching headbands, with matching pink and purple sparkles. She also enjoys making her dolls clothes. She’s quite couple-obsessed, checking in on who’s dating who, although that’s mainly for celebrities. She is quite cringey when she’s sad about her fave couples breaking up, but she always cheers up by focusing on who is still together or who is recently dating. She can be pushy when she sees a celebrity couple that she doesn’t like together, because although she can be obsessed, she doesn’t like all celebrity couples, something she insists to her brother a lot. When [name_f]Escarleth[/name_f] was 12, she used to pair herself with celebrities but then she realised how weird that was when she grew up, especially since there’s not many famous 12-year-olds and most of those celebrities were much older. She used to ask her father [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] about celebrity couples but quickly learned he’s out of the loop on that. She’s quite a fan of herself and [name_m]Santi[/name_m], although she doesn’t flaunt their love everywhere. She doesn’t ship herself with any of the bad influences that [name_m]Santi[/name_m] knows, and encourages him to find new friends that she associates with. [name_f]Escarleth[/name_f] is easygoing and is friends with several kinds of people as long as they’re good influences.
[name_f]Escarleth[/name_f] knows some things about the “couple” who [name_m]Rigden[/name_m] is allowing to marry aka the two who aren’t in love but marrying for benefits. She’s even begged him not to allow it but he’s stated that they’re grown adults and can make their own decisions. So [name_f]Escarleth[/name_f] has reluctantly agreed although she wonders if [name_f]Juju[/name_f] knows, since one of the people involved is a single parent of Juju’s friend. [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] [name_m]Vermont[/name_m] Robinson-Lee (nee Robinson) [49] is one half of a couple that [name_f]Escarleth[/name_f] has been somewhat invested in lately. [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] is a former ‘heartthrob’ in the late 90s and early 00s where he starred in primarily romcoms or action flicks as the either the main protagonist or male love interest, best known for titles such as Flannel Hearts and Grunge. Though he took a chance and took a role in a sci-fi movie called [name_m]Quantum[/name_m] Nexus where he played opposite a Korean supermodel turned actress, the Ms. [name_m]Lee[/name_m] who would eventually become his wife. Their chemistry was very popular both on screen and off screen and their relationship quickly became popular amongst fans of both actors separately.
They would go on to secretly tie the knot after two years of dating, but the news of their marriage would only be made public four years after that when the couple welcomed their first and only child, [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], who is partially named after her father due hence the similar sounds in each of their names. The announcement of both their daughter and six years of marriage was quite newsworthy and made [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] and his family even more popular amidst viewers and fans. Being incredibly charismatic as always he was happy to bring his daughter out to the film sets he worked on where she would toddle around and entertain the crew between watching her dad work. Sophie’s mother also made a habit of bringing their child to work and socializing her with the world of film. Eventually the connections found [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] a few cameos that would later become some larger roles, although nothing showstopping, mostly just playing the baby sister or daughter of other main characters.
Neither [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] nor his wife were particularly upset when [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] expressed a desire to step away from the camera and happily protected her privacy. [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] made national news once again when [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] was ten and a paparazzi tried to take snap a picture of her while [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] picked her up from school. Angry at the invasion of his daughter’s life, he snatched the camera from the pap’s hands and smashed it on the ground. Unfortunately the incident was caught on camera and went pretty viral, even earning [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] ‘meme’ status as pictures of the moment he broke the camera circulated the web with captions expressing displeasure such as one reading ‘that moment when your boss asks you to come in on the weekend.’
He’s been just as protective and supportive of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] now as she begins to pursue her passion of make-up artistry, though he’s promised not to create anymore property damage in the name of defending her this time. His career has found a bit of a plateau these days as he’s usually playing the father of the action heroes now instead of being the star himself. He doesn’t consider this a downgrade however as these roles are less time consuming and he’s been filling his schedule with screenwriting. His first script, co-written with a former director of his and close friend, is on track for production next year.

[name_m]Bakari[/name_m] [name_m]Lawson[/name_m] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] (51) is Sufjan’s close friend. He directed Flannel Hearts in 1998, which was his second directing job. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] is still directing movies and he has a lot of different genres in his repertoire. He’s glad that his and Sufjan’s script is being produced next year and hopes that the movie is well received when it comes out. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] is currently directing a movie, a family drama called Broken Bonds. Despite lots of drama in the movie, everyone involved is really friendly or at least polite to one another. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] is always relieved when that turns out to be the case because he’s directed quite a few movies where the cast didn’t get along at all.
[name_m]Bakari[/name_m] has been married for years to his wonderful wife. They initially met during filming for Flannel Hearts, as his wife was a cast member. They got married in 2000 and now have two children, a 21 year old daughter and a 19 year old son. His daughter is acting in the movie he’s currently directing and it’s painfully obvious to him that she and his intern are trying to hide the fact that they’ve started dating. He thinks the boy is nice, if a little nervous and awkward. He finds the whole situation hilarious and is simply waiting until they deem it the right time to tell him. Bakari’s son is currently in college but still living at home like his sister. [name_m]Bakari[/name_m] has always tried to spend as much time as possible with them and still does now. He and his son enjoy playing video games together, although his son is so much better than he is.

[name_m]Artus[/name_m] ’ Az ’ [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] Heriss (27) is part of the FX team that frequently collaborates with [name_m]Bakari[/name_m], and there’s actually a deeper connection between him and the director: Azs’ younger sister, [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], is good friends’ with Bakaris’ daughter, as they’re the same age, having met when the latter was hanging around set to see her dad and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] arrived to get a lift home from her brother. This is a frequent source of annoyance for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] now, as Az teases her about her ‘nepo friendship’, but there’s no genuine malice and it’s a manifestation of them now being closer, as their age gap did cause some distance when they were kids.
Being one of four siblings doesn’t bother Az, as he’s the sort of gregarious personality that thrives being part of a large group, and the age gaps are something he feels have their perks: in the sense there isn’t competition between him and his older siblings, [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] and [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]. Of course, the fact his brother married a girl named [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is something else Az enjoys joking about, given the [name_f]Christmas[/name_f] card confusion it has caused over the years.
While he appears a carefree joker on a surface level, Az isn’t without his responsible qualities. His girlfriend has a chronic pain condition that means she requires a lot of support, and Az never hesitates to ensure she’s comfortable, refusing to work on sets where compassion in the face of her needing him to visit her at short notice if she’s needing help. He’s also a dedicated uncle to his nieces, [name_f]Jordan[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f], as well as his recently welcomed nephew, the younger child of [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f].

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Lennox[/name_m] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] (6 months) is the current youngest cousin of the family and only nephew to Az. A quiet child, Oscar’s very attached to his mom and dad, something his big sister [name_f]Maya[/name_f] isn’t always that fond of given he can become fussy when he’s feeling like he’s not getting enough attention. When being held by his sister though, the little boy’s just as content, and more recently has been reaching for her which never fails to melt [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and Theodorics’ hearts.
It’s Oscar’s maternal grandma - nanny as she’s called - who knits him and his sister their hats, scarves, mittens and vests, which generate a great deal of cooing thanks to how adorable the siblings look in them. He’s actually also met [name_m]Bakari[/name_m], as bringing the little boy to set was permitted when [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] was born, and while he’s not particularly outgoing, meeting the cast and crew of his uncle’s current project didn’t spook [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] in the slightest as he knew he’d go back to his dad after a morning of attention.

[name_f]Danielle[/name_f] " [name_f]Dana[/name_f] " [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Languard (16) is primary babysitter to [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], as well as the best friend of [name_f]Escarleth[/name_f] [name_m]Santos[/name_m]. The fact she has something close to adjacency with [name_m]Sufjan[/name_m] Robinson-Lee is a major source of excitement for Dana’s best friend, however they actually discuss things outside of the dating world of those far more famous than they’d ever want to be. They’re very much a pair in the eyes of teachers, although they have 2 other close friends’ often with them. What matters most to [name_f]Dana[/name_f] right now is figuring out more independence, as she’s gotten a car - following passing her test - but still has quite protective parents, so she never goes anywhere super busy in it.
Her babysitting is how [name_f]Dana[/name_f] hopes to prove she can be trusted with going further afield, as she’d love nothing more than a road trip with her besties once she graduates high school, but right now there’s a firm hold on that plan. As an only child, [name_f]Dana[/name_f] also sometimes mourns the fact she doesn’t have a sibling to ask about navigating this part of her life. She does understand some of her parents reservations though, given [name_f]Dana[/name_f] has friends in Santi’s group who are way more into partying, and of course her mom and dad are concerned about that becoming her priority, instead of her life-long goal of becoming a vet.

[name_m]Blake[/name_m] [name_m]Ashton[/name_m] [name_m]Ward[/name_m] (7) is another child that [name_f]Dana[/name_f] babysits, and she has babysat him since he was 3 years old! [name_m]Blake[/name_m] is very attached to [name_f]Dana[/name_f], part of the reason being that, up until 8 months ago, [name_m]Blake[/name_m] was an only child! Now, [name_m]Blake[/name_m] is navigating the life with two, whiny, crying twin babies, and he is not used to it. He is also not used to having to share his parents’ attention, which is why he has clung to [name_f]Dana[/name_f] in these last few months. She has a standing job watching him on [name_m]Friday[/name_m] afternoons from 4-9 pm, and she goes and watches him if his parents need to take the babies somewhere.
[name_m]Blake[/name_m] is still unsure about his baby siblings. He had begged his parents for a sibling for years, but didn’t realize they’d be so fussy – and that they wouldn’t want to play with him. Now that they are 8 months old, they are more fun to play with because they are learning how to crawl, make trouble, and they love to cuddle with [name_m]Blake[/name_m], but he is still frustrated that they are always sleeping!
[name_m]Blake[/name_m] loves to play soccer and he also loves to sew, much to the surprise of everyone who meets him. He sewed two little toys, (one bunny, one cat) for his baby siblings with the help of his mom and grandma, and the babies love sleeping with them. [name_m]Blake[/name_m] got his special toy, (a bear) from his grandma, and she has taught him how to be a great little artist. He is learning how to knit and crotchet too, but prefers sewing (he even made his lion halloween costume this year)!

[name_f]Zori[/name_f] is close as heck with [name_m]Blake[/name_m] even if she doesn’t quite relate to being unhappy sharing attention. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] isn’t completely lost in that however, since she is a firstborn. She was an only child for 5 years, which she enjoyed until she felt like she didn’t want to be “their whole life” all the time. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] never liked attention but she was surprised when her new baby sister [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] entered the picture. She felt she didn’t truly know how much attention a baby needs until [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] was born but feels this pushed it further when she grew up and became a mother herself. She respected [name_m]Blake[/name_m] and didn’t want to overwhelm him in his life. She gave him attention and lets him have space when he needs it. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] are closer now and also like to bond with their cousin [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and “cousin” (well, cousin-in-law) [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m], who are also married parents. [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] has no children yet but she’s expressed the possibility of future children one day.
[name_f]Zori[/name_f] isn’t super sentimental, when she’s nervous, she doesn’t want a long conversation about her feelings. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a 30 second pep talk and a pat on the back is all she needs. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though she doesn’t get deep, she’s fine with that on other perspectives and her husband is as well. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] and her husband are not the romantic types but both of them are very strong in their bond and active role models, believing the importance of being their children’s first role models in their life. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] has had a long history of not being romantic, when she was 13, she had a date to the (awkward) school dance who kissed her cheek, but she blushed and didn’t have it in her to kiss back. While she’s been kissed, she didn’t have her first kiss until college with none other than - her now-husband! [name_m]Even[/name_m] if they’re not saps, love finds a way for them even though they’re not interested in telling these stories to [name_m]Blake[/name_m] - who would likely go “Eww!” at the story of kisses. They’re not perfect; they joke about how they can’t keep the grass on their lawn looking fresh - grass growing between the cracks in sidewalks can grow better than this lawn!
Both of them love Blake’s sewing abilities and [name_f]Zori[/name_f] knows she wouldn’t have been nearly as good as him when she was 7! She likely would have given up after accidentally pricking herself with the needle. But she’s glad to enjoy it more especially since her mother loves it and her son loves it and she has no intent on being the odd generation out! But she’s happy for [name_m]Blake[/name_m] and she and her husband find it an odd coincidence that once she sewn him a baby blanket and now he sews with her! [name_f]Zori[/name_f] was surprised to learn she was carrying twins when she got pregnant again and she is happy her husband, son, sister, and rest of the family supported her. She knew [name_m]Blake[/name_m] was intensely excited since he would get two siblings at the same time! Now things have definitely changed especially since the twins are still babies, but the Wards are excited seeing them grow and see the world each day. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] loves her new babies and still wants to make sure [name_m]Blake[/name_m] isn’t left out, especially since she doesn’t like when she’s in public with the twins and people passing by gush about how cute they are and forget about [name_m]Blake[/name_m]. She doesn’t want his feelings hurt. The most obnoxious question she gets is whether she wants to enroll her 8-month twins into beauty pageants. [name_m]Even[/name_m] when people mean well and say they “won’t discriminate age or gender”. Obviously that’s not happening, she finds them cringey enough with children, let alone babies, let alone her babies (whose best talent are the nights where they sleep softly without crying). She wouldn’t put [name_m]Blake[/name_m] in one even if he designs his costume and not just “because he’s a boy.” She can’t imagine the thought of, “Oh! [name_f]My[/name_f] child can walk now! Let’s sign them up for a pageant! Old enough to walk; old enough to catwalk!” but she knows why people asked her. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] works in a commitee for the city pageant, but it’s just a small event and the contestants aren’t objectified: they’re given a voice to help the city. [name_f]Zori[/name_f] herself was in them before her marriage and children, and while she was no longer a Miss and didn’t compete, she’s loved the organisation. People find it surprising given her casual and carefree traits but she’s always loved her community and she likes knowing you don’t have to be posh and pampered to get in. Admittedly [name_f]Zori[/name_f] has never won the actual pageant, finding herself a bit lacking in talents, but she’s won Miss Congeniality and that’s what she’s most proud of.

[name_m]Jameson[/name_m] ’ [name_m]Jamie[/name_m] ’ [name_m]Colin[/name_m] [name_m]Ward[/name_m] (29) is Zori’s husband and father to their three children, who’s doing his best to encourage harmony between [name_m]Blake[/name_m] and the twins. When the change happened - babies going from great in the eyes of his son to boring on account of sleeping so much - [name_m]Jamie[/name_m] jokingly took the ‘blame’ for this. He’s the one with the family that have a lineage of twins after all - his dad’s a twin and he has several cousins who are twins - so he insisted [name_m]Blake[/name_m] should save any stern words for him, although nothing his son’s expressed has been anything close to hurtful, and [name_m]Jamie[/name_m] does understand his frustrations.
Unlike his wife, Jamie’s an only child, as his parents met in their late-30s and were worried about not being able to be as active with their children if they conceived again after [name_m]Jamie[/name_m] was born: his dad was 45 and his mom was 44. Jamie’s always been a more relaxed person though, so thankfully he wasn’t raising hell when they were adjusting to him in their lives, and this is reflected in his job. He’s a developer of artificial flavourings in food products, and as a result, makes brilliant pastries and cakes for special occasions, as he’s learned the best combos through his job.
Like [name_f]Zori[/name_f], he hadn’t had much dating history before they met in college, but this was a relief for [name_m]Jamie[/name_m]. he actually ended up declining some dates thanks to feeling an invisible pressure to be super experienced and confident with intimacy, when - like his wife - he’s much more reserved and prefers words or little gifts to express his affection. But, for how he’s generally quieter, no-one can pretend they can’t see how much [name_m]Jamie[/name_m] cherishes his wife and children, as well as the rest of his loved one’s (although they get fewer baked goods from him).

[name_f]Graziana[/name_f] " [name_f]Grace[/name_f] " [name_f]Celestine[/name_f] [name_m]Marino[/name_m] (43) is a colleague of Jamie’s and fellow parent, having two children with her ex-husband [name_m]Marcus[/name_m]: a six-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son. In comparison to some people she knows, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] jokes her divorce was ‘boring’. She and [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] came to realise they just weren’t suited for being a couple - they rushed into marriage as it was expected of them, had their daughter son less than a year later, and then kept trying to make everything work out, in spite of their glaring differences only becoming more obvious as time went by.
When they finally separated, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] put the blame on herself, having always had tendencies to be harsh when a perceived failure occurs in her life, and this felt like the ultimate example. Be it academics or how she handles difficult questions, she always feels a need to put her best foot forward, and with her children’s well-being involved, this was maximised by tenfold. Now though she looks back and is happy she and [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] decided to call it quits when they did, before the strain took a hold of them properly and led to conflict breaking out, as it’s created what their daughter [name_m]Alex[/name_m] calls ‘the best houses to live in!’.
Still, the amicable divorce and friendly relationship she’s maintained with [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] doesn’t mean Grace’s life is devoid of complexity. Her brother-in-law hails from a family with multiple criminal connections, meaning there’s another kind of pressure on her younger sister [name_f]Liz[/name_f], something [name_f]Grace[/name_f] admits to her good friends that she struggles with accepting. Although Lizs’ happiness is paramount, the reality of what she faces isn’t something [name_f]Grace[/name_f] can shrug off, especially as her own kids are always clamouring to see their cousins.
There’s actually something soothing in the everyday bumps those around her face, and talking to Jamie’s something [name_f]Grace[/name_f] always enjoys, although she admits to being ‘fairly useless’ where Blake’s opinions of his twin siblings are concerned. After all, her son was merely a toddler himself when [name_m]Alex[/name_m] came along, so there wasn’t time for him to question how effective she was at playing imaginary games or climbing trees.

[name_m]Tyler[/name_m] [name_m]Lucio[/name_m] [name_m]Santos[/name_m] (8) is [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] and Grace’s son and brother to [name_m]Alex[/name_m], who shares the hyper social nature of his sister, loving to meet new people and learn about them. His dream job is to become an investigative reporter, a plan he’s very vocal about to everyone, as it combined what [name_m]Tyler[/name_m] loves most: adventure and mysteries. This, of course, makes him an avid fan of [name_m]Scooby[/name_m] Doo, and he’s open in being disappointed about neither of his parents letting him have a dog; in spite of the fact they’ve reminded him a pet isn’t just to hunt for clues alongside. [name_m]Tyler[/name_m] is indignant this isn’t his only motivation, however some company wouldn’t be turned down!
Thankfully for his parents, [name_m]Tyler[/name_m] and Alyssas’ primary babysitter has a dog she’s allowed to bring to the house sometimes when looking after the siblings. Of course this makes them very excited for these occasions, however [name_m]Tyler[/name_m] hasn’t forgotten his own wish: something that of course is repeated to his mom and dad. He’s more outdoorsy than [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] too, so going hiking and camping with their dad appeals to him a lot, as it ties into how exploring fascinates and invigorates him - while his sister isn’t so fond thanks to the mud and bugs.

[name_f]Wynter[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] [name_m]Clifton[/name_m] (36) is Tyler’s former babysitter, not the primary, and she doesn’t have much intent to be the primary. People mistake her sometimes for a [name_m]Marino[/name_m] sister, which she tried to laugh off. She doesn’t hate [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and doesn’t necessarily hate [name_f]Liz[/name_f], though she finds Liz’s husband deeply problematic in her eyes. [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] wouldn’t have gotten involved had she known about Grace’s brother-in-law, and while she has no intent to take it out on [name_m]Alex[/name_m] or [name_m]Tyler[/name_m], she stepped down from primary babysitter. Both she and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] agree she shouldn’t be primary babysitter anymore. She’d do it if the primary babysitter wasn’t around, but it’s unlikely she’d be the next choice. [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] doesn’t mind this and genuinely thinks the new primary babysitter is a better person, not to mention how happy [name_m]Tyler[/name_m] is with this new primary babysitter, which makes her understanding. She knows the true crime involved with Wynter’s life or Liz’s life isn’t what Tyler’s looking for in terms of mystery, so she doesn’t discuss that with him. She wouldn’t be surprised if he or really anyone knew, although she’s already tried to suppress a lot of her anger away from [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Liz[/name_f], as it’s very controversial. [name_f]Liz[/name_f] knows her husband worries a lot about how people could perceive him if they knew his background. While [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] disdains him, it’s not because he’s related to a criminal society.
It’s actually more because he has children, since [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] has a somewhat anti-natalist view. She’s not that way with everyone, but she is if someone has infamous or dangerous relatives. She finds him disgusting and irresponsible to continue his bloodline, even if the children aren’t under his pre-married name. She is disturbed that [name_f]Liz[/name_f] would be okay with him doing this, secretly perceiving [name_f]Liz[/name_f] as an enabler, but her view on [name_f]Liz[/name_f] is substantially less negative than her view on Mr. [name_m]Marino[/name_m]. She has never met their children and has tried to be as discreet as she can on her refusal to do so. [name_f]Liz[/name_f] is convinced [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] doesn’t like her husband, though she feels it’s for the same reasons that other people have for that. [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] feels bad that he’s worried over his decision to have married [name_f]Liz[/name_f], since she’s fine with him being married, only angered that he chose to reproduce and subject these children to this. [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] has a lot of dark secrets attached to her, and has a career as a dark poet starting with her infamous poem, He Died a [name_f]Hero[/name_f] which she wrote years prior. The poem was about her brother, though the title was intentionally misleading. Her brother didn’t live or die a hero, though he was loved greatly by his community and was “tragically” murdered. It was a scathing poem about how he murdered his business rival and was killed in vengeance by the widow of said rival, who is currently imprisoned. While [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] and her brother don’t have children, her brother’s business rival left behind a daughter [name_f]Teddi[/name_f]. [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] has has mixed feelings, she knows her brother’s business rival was innocent and while his widow committed a serious crime, she did it after Teddi’s birth. She doesn’t like Teddi’s widow, but only because what she did prevented her brother from facing the wrath she felt he should have gotten in life.
[name_f]Wynter[/name_f] is glad she has no children and her brother never did, since she knows there won’t be any descendants related to her awful brother. She knows she’s and Liz’s husband are both innocent and never committed anything evil, but she finds his decision selfish and feels too glad that she isn’t going to make another generation. [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] knows her disdain isn’t going to turn into a deadly rivalry, knowing she wants no repeats of such, and she isn’t going to get any revenge. Still, she feels like he should be happy she isn’t yelling at him. If she ever saw a descendant of any genocidal ruthless dictator who did not want to end the bloodline, she’d happily punch that relative in the face. She’s glad she wrote the poem, since her brother was mourned and so many people reminisced that he was a “beautiful soul” growing up. The poem’s title really came from, “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” He was a true villain but he never saw the scorn, only the love, and never lived long enough to see the reactions of his true colours. She considers him too lucky that he was given “the easy way out” and believes him not having kids was the best “brilliant decision” he’s made. Sometimes she regrets how her abrasive side rubbed the Marinos the wrong way. She really doesn’t hate kids and isn’t a complete anti-natalist. She wishes [name_m]Tyler[/name_m] and [name_m]Alex[/name_m] the best. Still, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is in the right to turn [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] away in defence of her sister’s family, even if [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] always seemed to prefer [name_f]Grace[/name_f] over [name_f]Liz[/name_f]. It’s a complicating life for the [name_m]Marino[/name_m] sisters and [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] tends to make it worse, whether she wants to or not. [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] has seen the new babysitter and the dog who currently work with [name_m]Alex[/name_m] and [name_m]Tyler[/name_m] and she smiles. They’re in better hands now despite how much it wasn’t meant to be for [name_f]Wynter[/name_f], so she’s glad they have a sweet babysitter who isn’t riddled in darkness.
