Create a Family with a Twist 1

[name_f]Krystal[/name_f] [name_f]Charity[/name_f] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] (19) is Lauren’s good friend, admittedly a cheerleading fan. She’s tried to tone down her “obnoxious cheerleader” ways, like when she was in school. She had this perfume she always sprayed which was sickeningly sweet though in her defence, she would spray in in the locker room because it would “smell bad otherwise”. Some girls would rather smell the locker room than her perfume! [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] was way too unaware but would eventually be aware when Lauren’s dog was repulsed by her. [name_m]Or[/name_m] rather, the perfume. Lauren’s dog is never mean to people unless they’re not nice people. So [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] was worried it would mean the dog didn’t like her and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] would think she’s rude! [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] pretty much stopped the perfume after that, especially during the time she wasn’t wearing the perfume and the dog liked her. She cringes now at why she would wear that specific perfume and wished she had better taste then.

Her cousin [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], who also taught her art, is a huge inspiration to [name_f]Krystal[/name_f]. While [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] loves to cheer, it’s not her life. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and her husband [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m], who also feels like a cousin to [name_f]Krystal[/name_f], have welcomed their own adorable baby. [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] sometimes babysit for this baby, though they usually do so as a pair knowing babies are much different to look after than kids. Krystal’s older sister [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] also really sees [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] as a cousin and has been closer with [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] as well during this occasion. They’re also good bonds as sisters since both know they’re a little cringey but both laugh about this now as siblings would. [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] sometimes asks how cringey she was, though she usually only feels comfortable asking [name_f]Amanda[/name_f]. Especially since [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] is 5 years and 8 ½ months older than her, a gap which feels shorter as years go on, but definitely long when the two were growing up and [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] was very cringey. As for her stance on [name_f]Wynter[/name_f], she agrees with [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] to let her be and not argue with her. They don’t know exactly where she comes from, even if her views are difficult. Sometimes [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] worries she gets the wrong idea, especially when she’s overheard some other women smack talking, and immediately thinking the smack talk was about her. It was actually about [name_f]Wynter[/name_f], which is how [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] first knew [name_f]Wynter[/name_f] was controversial. But [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] is willing to live life on her own terms, not anyone else’s, and she’s first in her family to have biochemistry as a major. Some people think she’s not super intelligent by looking at her, but she’s smart. However, much more book smart than street smart.

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] (6 months) is the baby boy first cousin once removed of [name_f]Krystal[/name_f]. Coming into the world on a beautiful sunny morning, bringing immense joy and excitement to his parents and sister [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Krystal[/name_f], and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] excitedly awaited his arrival. After hours of painful waiting and rushing water, [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] felt an overwhelming rush of love as they held their beautiful baby boy for the first time.

He looked just like his parents and was heavily adored by his big sister [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. The cherished celebration of his arrival was met with happy tears from friends and family who knew him. The world wanted to meet him and he opened his eyes for the first time to the world. Time and time again, [name_f]Maya[/name_f] would enjoy the moments with her little baby brother.

With every month and day he grew, he would be raised by a kindhearted and lovable family, including [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f], who needed him in their lives. With each breath, his existence would serve as a thoughtful gift of the life he lives in the [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] family, filling their souls with a passion they would go on with forever.

Warning for aforementioned chronic pain and ableism.

[name_f]Leslie[/name_f] “ [name_f]Essa[/name_f] “ Yang-Hak (27) isn’t quite related to [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] Heriss, but feels a somewhat related bond. She’s dating Az Herris, who is Daniel’s uncle. She’s also gotten along with the “older baby of the family”, [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] sometimes thinks [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] is a toy or a mini form of himself, which [name_f]Essa[/name_f] finds hilarious. Keeps her mind off of the past drama of her younger sister [name_m]Ash[/name_m], unbeknownst to her, dated her friend Phoenix’s ex. What made this awkward was when it was found out, with [name_m]Phoenix[/name_m] being upset at first. Though [name_m]Phoenix[/name_m] did end up apologising and letting [name_m]Ash[/name_m] date the ex, which lasted longer than expected. But they just split, which [name_f]Essa[/name_f] is comforting [name_m]Ash[/name_m] about, though she feels like [name_m]Ash[/name_m] and [name_m]Phoenix[/name_m] would be closer had this incident never occurred. [name_f]Essa[/name_f] feels [name_m]Ash[/name_m] has more bonds than [name_m]Phoenix[/name_m] currently, and feels [name_m]Ash[/name_m] may have gotten off better than [name_m]Phoenix[/name_m] had. Though [name_f]Essa[/name_f] still knows [name_m]Ash[/name_m] doesn’t have the best life and that [name_m]Ash[/name_m] isn’t in the wrong for being happy. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if [name_m]Ash[/name_m] did “violate girl code”, something [name_f]Essa[/name_f] herself didn’t think [name_m]Ash[/name_m] was the type to do.

[name_f]Essa[/name_f] and [name_m]Ash[/name_m] are both getting along well as sisters, though sometimes their bond was hindered by the chronic pain [name_f]Essa[/name_f] faced. Essa’s really grateful for her family and her boyfriend Az never giving up on her. She’s had times where people refused to consider her disabled, not realising she had an invisible condition. Her boyfriend’s always been there for her during her worst times with the condition, which she sometimes worries would hurt his career, though he’s made it work. Sometimes [name_f]Essa[/name_f] worries about her own career though she works from home. She didn’t used to work at home, though she got a job during the pandemic and chose not to return to her original job, which wasn’t the nicest environment. Essa’s really great at Chinese checkers and Mao, which she loves to think strategically while having fun with it. [name_f]Essa[/name_f] loves Az and his very responsible and humble personality, which is rubbing off on [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], given Az’s kind influence. Essa’s genuinely sure Az is the one for her, but also loves his fun side to him. [name_f]Essa[/name_f] is very warm as a person and likes to just enjoy herself when introducing herself to people, not wanting people to feel afraid just because of her condition. But she doesn’t undermine its impact on her life, as Az knows. She just loves talking about anything and not fixating her whole life on the negatives.

Dr. [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_m]Heath[/name_m] (30) is Essa’s friend from high-school. Being a doctor specializing in oncology herself, [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is supportive of Essa’s condition. [name_f]Cate[/name_f] knows the patients she sees often have a very hard time accepting their condition depending on how far along their disease is, although it’s hard regardless of how progressed their disease is when they were diagnosed.

While [name_f]Cate[/name_f] always works hard, some days are more challenging than others. On those harder days, [name_f]Cate[/name_f] looks forward to going home to spend time with her wife and their small son who they conceived through IVF just 3 short years ago. Cate’s son is the light of her life, along with her wife who both help her feel optimistic even on days it’s hard, like when she has to tell a family their loved one didn’t make it…
It’s never easy.

Because she’s often busy, she doesn’t always have time to hang out with [name_f]Essa[/name_f], but they text each other often, so [name_f]Cate[/name_f] does keep in the loop with her as best she can. [name_f]Cate[/name_f] will lecture anyone who says Essa’s disability isn’t real just because it’s not visible. [name_f]Cate[/name_f] hopes one day they have more treatments for the different diseases and conditions people can fall victim too, or at the very least, more people who are willing to understand.

[name_f]Sila[/name_f] loves Cate’s sweet nature and the way it’s rubbed off on her. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] often has a shy exterior but when around people she loves, she is happy and honestly, quite corny. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] is a technician and currently works for a company, though she plans to start her own company when she feels she’s ready. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] doesn’t make her job her life, and knows [name_f]Cate[/name_f] has a life outside, but she’ll always adore how Cate’s job makes her even kinder. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] isn’t as social but she’s respectful regardless of how much she relates to the other people. All of her cousins are younger than her and her family’s moved twice when she was growing up, so finding someone to relate with and be close to was difficult for her. Though her childhood was still good, and she absolutely adored knock-knock jokes. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] feels everything for her was worth the wait. She has one older sister who she felt “didn’t really know her” but they’re on much better terms. Her older sister has two children of her own who used to fight a lot but lately they have been getting along better, to Sila’s happiness.

[name_f]Cate[/name_f] and [name_f]Sila[/name_f] both love uplifting one another, which grew by the birth of their son, who’s adorable and really sweet. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] has never found any of Cate’s hectic career nature to be a red flag, because in her eyes, helping people is never a red flag. She is alright spending time with her son when Cate’s hours are long and she’s appreciated how dedicated she is both to her family and her patients. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] could never imagine what it would be like to tell a patient their prognosis, though she’s glad [name_f]Cate[/name_f] isn’t the type to tell patients, “You will never ____ again.” So many times doctors say this and patients either miraculously prove this wrong or their lives gets much worse because of said news. Deep down, [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is always working for a better future. Sila’s technical skills have even helped in finding ways for patients to adjust to how to live and manage their conditions. She’s currently working on projects involving how to help them communicate and how to make motorised scooters more efficient. She loves riding her e-bike in her spare time and takes time to enjoy the city and fresh air. [name_f]Sila[/name_f] loves how sweet [name_f]Cate[/name_f] and [name_f]Essa[/name_f] are both in and out of the treatment rooms, and [name_f]Sila[/name_f] enjoys motivating and encouraging Cate’s kindness when she does something wholesome.

[name_m]Cade[/name_m] [name_m]Zachariah[/name_m] [name_m]Heath[/name_m] (3) is Cate’s and Sila’s son, and their absolute pride and joy. Cade’s a very sweet and loving little boy who has the same or possibly higher levels of empathy and compassion as both his moms. [name_m]Cade[/name_m] has a lot of friends at daycare that he always loves to go to his house for a playdate where he has so much fun playing make believe with them or riding on their scooters together.

[name_m]Cade[/name_m] is a very imaginative boy with empathy for everyone and everything, even objects and nonliving things. Whenever he bumps into something or accidentally knocks items over, he will apologize to the inanimate object just as he would with animals or people. His moms find this trait very endearing and they love the sentiment behind it, but do have to comfort him if he gets too upset about it. During these times, they try to explain that the objects don’t have feelings, but if they did, they would forgive me for being so kind to them. It helps sometimes, but a lot of times he still feels upset. This high empathy also extends to people far away in an ambulance who [name_m]Cade[/name_m] doesn’t know, as when an ambulance or fire truck goes by he asks his moms or teachers what’s wrong with the person or where the fire is and wondering if they’re going to be okay, and his moms always have to say they aren’t sure.

Aside from this, [name_m]Cade[/name_m] is a happy child for the most part. He loves playing on his scooter. Lately he has been pining for his moms to get him a kitten, as he absolutely adores his best friend cat. He says he would name the kitten [name_f]Coco[/name_f] after his favorite YouTube channel Cocomelon. His moms are considering it since they know despite his young age his empathy wouldn’t allow him to hurt any animal intentionally, but they still wonder if it would be best if he was a little older before they brought home a pet.

[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] " [name_f]Bri[/name_f] " [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_m]Heath[/name_m] (29) is Cade’s aunt and the younger sister of [name_f]Cate[/name_f], who the little boy tends to come to when he wants to cook up a new scheme to convince his mom’s getting a pet is absolutely his human right. [name_f]Bri[/name_f] humours these asks without disrespecting Cate’s boundaries, as she loves and respects her sister dearly. She’s also got a close friend - whose son is a playmate of Cade’s - who experienced issues when the stepmother of said little boy began granting requests she was denying. It wasn’t intentional or something done to create a rift, but [name_f]Bri[/name_f] saw how much it troubled her friend to be the bad guy of sorts when a request was voiced, and boundaries are paramount to her.

It’s not a strange occurrence for [name_f]Bri[/name_f] to try casually dating someone and finding they want a way bigger commitment than what she’s able to offer. As she works in national parks, she’s naturally someone who loves space and freedom, meaning commitments - such as moving in - are big deals in her world, and not something she’s willing to be nagged over. The time she does have she also tries to keep for her loved one’s, especially [name_f]Cate[/name_f] and her family, which means [name_f]Bri[/name_f] does seem a little antisocial to some people, on account of her conduct.

Her approach to socialising became more apparent to her in her early twenties after she received a formal autism diagnosis. It was something [name_f]Bri[/name_f] had suspected about herself for a few years by then, but the actual terminology meant a great deal to her, allowing for some people to understand her better [although it’s not been a total shock that others just never quite get her perspective].

When she isn’t in the great outdoors, being an avid hiker and expert on wild plants, [name_f]Bri[/name_f] enjoys gaming or spending time with her friends and family. She’s also recently started to learn DIY more, as she’s moved into her own place - solo - recently, and assembling her flatpack furniture proved a lot more engaging than [name_f]Bri[/name_f] had first assumed. Ideally, it’ll also allow her to save more money on certain requirements for her new apartment, giving her income to put towards what her passions in life are. [name_m]Or[/name_m] maybe to ease some finances when the day of [name_m]Cade[/name_m] getting a pet arrives [not that she’s told her nephew yet].

While not related by blood, he sees [name_m]Cade[/name_m] as a sweet brother to him and their friendship explores many paths. He loves dolls, especially his lifelike doll his stepmother gave, resembling a little sister he hopes to have.

He is very thoughtful and kind, making mud pies for his parents and stepmother, and he isn’t playing favorites. The legendary motivations behind his parents’ styles is how he has adjusted to different forms of parenting to grow in his life.

He and [name_m]Cade[/name_m] are expert tag players and try their hardest in their skill to win and conquer. He is a cartoon fan and loves cartoon cats and dogs. While he is never lonely, he loves being around family most of all, and shares fun-loving connections to friend [name_m]Cade[/name_m].

He is a master at the basics of life, loving letters and numbers. He likes the sunshine sky and to hear the bird songs. In his everyday life, he wakes up for more fun and adventure.

[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] [name_f]Natasha[/name_f] [name_m]Eason[/name_m] (29) is Jamesons’ mom and close friend of [name_f]Bri[/name_f], who’s recently experienced some coparenting difficulties where boundaries are concerned. Her son means absolutely everything to her, which is a sentiment [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] ensures her always knows, even when she’s putting her foot down. Known for being scatterbrained as a child, Marnie’s ironically become a very organised adult, running her own upholstery recycling business alongside her older brother, which they inherited from their now-retired parents.

She and Jamesons’ dad actually split before learning he’d been conceived, which she feels has made it easier adapting to her son gaining a stepparent, especially with how communications happen between all three parties (with success rates varying). [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] knows Jamesons’ stepmom doesn’t mean any harm, even when the issues about saying yes came up, and that part of her eagerness is because she’s planning on becoming a mother herself, so the urge to not show favouritism between future half-siblings was guiding her decision making.

[name_f]Bri[/name_f] has joked a lot about what [name_m]Cade[/name_m] might think when [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] gets a little brother or sister - see: if he’ll want one - but Marnie’s confident that she’s happy being parent to just one child. If she was to expand her family, adoption’s the route she’d like to take though, knowing the positive impact and what it could teach her son as well; although [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] doesn’t feel pressured to make such a big step, especially when considering what her ex and his wife have planned regarding Jamesons’ future as a big brother.

They live full time with Jameson’s dad and their mum, as their own dad left them before they were born.

[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] (right) is the more outgoing of the two. She loves the sound of her own voice, and can be found bossing around her sister and stepbrother. Her side of the room that the twins share is always messy and disorganised, but she claims that she knows where everything is. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] likes to pretend that she isn’t very excited for the arrival of their new little brother or sister, but she is secretly thrilled. She spends most of her days with [name_f]Sunnie[/name_f] and the neighbour’s daughter, [name_f]Lainey[/name_f]. She wants to be the president when she grows up, so she can boss around even more people.

[name_f]Sunnie[/name_f] (left) is shy and mostly keeps to herself. She loves reading, and can either be found with her nose in a book or playing with her twin and the neighbours daughter, [name_f]Lainey[/name_f]. [name_f]Sunnie[/name_f] is the younger twin by two minutes and fifty seven seconds, and lets [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] use that as an excuse to boss her around. She doesn’t mind being told what to do, because it means that there is more time to read and draw. She plays soccer, and is striving to be on the womens team for her country when she’s older or run her own bookshop in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m].

Both girls are cheerful and bright, and very happy with their lives.

At one time this was a completely unfathomable hope of Trisha’s. She’s always been someone who’s loved the idea of a big family - a contrast to her being an only child raised by her grandma - but it seemed impossible until she met her husband, Jamesons’ dad, when a mutual friend set them up on a blind date.

Right now she’s a stay-at-home mom, due to the needs of the twins, even when [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] is spending time at Marnies’ place. Before then, [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] worked as an admin assistant for a law firm, supporting herself and her daughters, while living with their great-grandma to lessen some expenses. She’s always been great at cleaning, tidying and filing things away though, which is why [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] finds it so annoying when her mom insists she lives in chaos - she can’t even bring that up as a comeback!

Truthfully, [name_f]Trisha[/name_f] can find [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] a bit intimidating, mostly because - in her eyes - the other woman always seems so put together and organised, while her life’s been more chaotic. What kickstarted this was the betrayal of her ex - the twins’ dad - who promised [name_f]Trisha[/name_f] the world then up and ran the moment she fell pregnant. It’s made her a bit more reserved than the fun-loving partygirl she was known as in college, and is also why she’s prone to being a little too giving for her own good: she just wants her loved one’s to have everything she wasn’t able to have.

Known for his spirited nature and consistent high energy, [name_m]Ty[/name_m] is an events promoter and organiser who transitioned from club events to art markets and independent craft fairs, namely as the social hours are much more fitting for the needs of his growing family.

The fact he’s only technically biologically related to [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] doesn’t alter how he treats him compared to the twins at all, aside from the exception of [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] being mixed race, as [name_m]Ty[/name_m] not only wants his son to be protected from bigotry but connected to his heritage.

Coming from a smaller family is also something [name_m]Ty[/name_m] feels has influenced his decisions. It’s been easier introducing [name_f]Trisha[/name_f], [name_m]Sunnie[/name_m] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] to his parents and sister, but it also means there’s less pressure about sharing attention fairly. His sister would like to become a parent too but its firm it’ll just be one child for her, as she’s working to become a surgeon and obviously this means her focus will more so be on her career, something [name_m]Ty[/name_m] wholly respects.

Since welcoming his son, Ty’s found a lot more stability in his life, realising how much being a dad means to him, especially the emotional rewards of raising children. He struggles to fathom how Trishas’ ex could’ve been so selfish and inconsiderate where his daughters’ are concerned, as even while it was a steep turnaround for him as a learning curve, [name_m]Ty[/name_m] couldn’t imagine a life without [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] as the centre of his world.

As a child, she was an expert playing Operation[name_f][/name_f] but never expected to actually be a surgeon until having that dream in teen years. [name_f]Ci[/name_f] loves to write as well, which she jokes will “buck the stereotype of bad doctor handwriting”. She used to be a moderator of a writing site, but she retired since she couldn’t keep up, though she’ll never leave the website. It’s a very awesome website except the draft errors and the drafts being “offline” constantly slow down the website. She would never hate the site itself though because it’s “way way too wholesome.” It’s probably just an interface issue beyond control. People also ask [name_f]Ci[/name_f] why she doesn’t get squeamish about wanting to be a surgeon. It’s a long story for [name_f]Ci[/name_f], especially since she’s not immune, just very focused in mind over matter. [name_f]Ci[/name_f] loves old school stuff and enjoys candles for decor, but has recently gotten into scented kind. She loves hourglasses and clocks and wishes she could control time.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Ci[/name_f] loves being an aunt and thinks [name_m]Ty[/name_m] & [name_f]Trisha[/name_f] are a lovely couple. [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] is really sweet and he reminds [name_f]Ci[/name_f] of her friendship with [name_f]Bri[/name_f] (which [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] loves their unintentionally rhymed nicknames). [name_f]Ci[/name_f] worries sometimes about her friendships, not that she’d ever see [name_f]Bri[/name_f] as any less for her autism diagnosis. [name_f]Ci[/name_f] always respects [name_f]Bri[/name_f], and also knows when to let her be. One of Ci’s biggest pet peeves is people who don’t leave her alone and then villainise her for wanting space. It’s made her question a lot about being a good friend but she feels content with the reassurance [name_f]Bri[/name_f] gives her. Despite Ty’s much different life, she’s always proud of him and of [name_f]Trisha[/name_f] too, thinking they’re true love with understanding and commitment. [name_f]Ci[/name_f] has considered going on a blind date herself, but often gets stressed about her life and career. She’s often stayed single out of worry that it would add more stress to her life, alongside the promise she made herself to have a child. People either assume she wants none or that she’d be “isolating” her child by just having one. Still, there’s some thought that maybe the mutual friend who paired [name_m]Ty[/name_m] & [name_f]Trisha[/name_f] could find someone for [name_f]Ci[/name_f] too.

While they joke about it now, Loris’ husband to feeling a bit intimidated when he met his now mother-in-law, but thankfully that didn’t last, as Loris’ mom is actually a very easygoing person, who never meddled in her daughters’ romantic life. [name_f]Lori[/name_f] also jokes her moms’ career is what led to she and her husband having a pretty distinct meet cute [name_f][/name_f]- at least in a mysteries of the universe way.

They were both stuck in a terrible traffic jam on a coach and ended up chatting to one another because there were so few people on board. [name_f]Lori[/name_f] did attempt to speak to said others but they either wanted to sleep or the conversation just didn’t spark. With her husband though, things just clicked. They can still chat away for hours at a time, and this is sometimes what they end up doing once their three-year-old daughter is tucked up in bed.

[name_f]Alanis[/name_f] ’ [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] ’ [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_m]Fielding[/name_m] (3) is Loris’ daughter, and a playmate of [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] [name_m]Perry[/name_m]. Lainey’s just started nursery and absolutely loves it, always coming back to tell her parents about who she’s making friends with. She’s got a very gregarious nature, which can intimidate some shyer children, so her mom and dad are trying to show her how a more gentle approach to socialising can go a long way, as [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] hates feeling like she can’t bond with other people.

[name_f][/name_f]

Meeting kids with siblings has also got her wondering if she’s going to become a big sister, and it annoys her that [name_f][/name_f]- apparently[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- these decisions require a lot of time. [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] can only compare it to her deciding she liked karate classes more than ballet. It was a surprise to her most of all, as she really loves the grace of dance, but found it all too slow for her liking. Fast movement is absolutely the best if you ask Lainey…but she might just tell you anyways.

[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Courtnée[/name_f] “ [name_m]Court[/name_m] “ [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] [name_m]Fielding[/name_m] (32) is Lainey’s aunt, highly energetic woman who honestly agrees with Lainey’s nature through-and-through. She loves the friendship [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] has with [name_m]Jameson[/name_m], since [name_f]Courtnée[/name_f] wanted to be friends with everyone when she was 3. Whereas her brother was more shy and only wanted to be friends with the teacher until [name_f]Courtnée[/name_f] convinced him to stop being an “unpopular teacher’s pet”. Some people might think she’s mean, even her parents had to get her to stop, but her brother doesn’t mind her sibling roasts and she loves to get roasted by him too. Her brother is trustworthy though, she once stole chocolates from a chocolate box (intended for her to give to her mother) little by little until half the box was gone. So she secretly replaced it and only her brother knew. They only mentioned this as adults when they can laugh at this, plus he was fine keeping her secret because it was better than what he worried she’d do [name_f][/name_f]— absolutely nothing while he would have likely took the blame. [name_m]Court[/name_m] would never do that though, she prefers nobody getting blamed. Plus there was a time she bought a gift for her brother’s birthday, played with it too hard, broke it, and secretly replaced that[name_f][/name_f], so it wasn’t the first time she’s done something like that.[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Court[/name_m] loves taking her parents to the beach as it was always something they liked to take her to do. She loves swimming and enjoys sunbathing, but not as much as bathing in the water. She used to never like to do activities without a group of people, but now she’s simmered down and realised she can still do what she loves even if no one else is available. [name_m]Court[/name_m] feels [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] doesn’t quite understand it, and she’s trying to be a good role model for her despite her brother knowing she was a “happily flawed child” growing up. She does like to keep it real that she’s not a perfect adult, whether that’s to a kid or to her former bosses. She runs a gelato shop by the beach called Gelato Grotto[name_f][/name_f], which she’s revived after the previous owners couldn’t keep it up during the pandemic. [name_m]Court[/name_m] has a lot of respect for this place, since she grew up enjoying it, so she can’t believe she now owns it. She’s glad nobody’s assuming that [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] and [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] are having any kind of “puppy love”, since [name_m]Court[/name_m] feels it’s perfectly fine for platonic boy/girl relationships to exist. [name_m]Court[/name_m] had a lot of male friends as a child and was tired of people assuming if she had a crush on any and disbelievin her when she said no. But it’s also tricky to ask her if she likes anyone now[name_f][/name_f], since she has a hidden mutual attraction with a man who’s close with [name_m]Jameson[/name_m] – his maternal uncle, Marnie’s older brother!
