Tamami ’ [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] ’ Yokomizo [19] is Zuza’s younger sister who’s just returned from a year of backpacking across Northern Europe. Her favorite places have been [name_u]Dublin[/name_u], [name_m]Oslo[/name_m], and Stockholm, though she’s super happy to be back home and in her own city where she doesn’t have to triple check her Norwegian or Swedish before she asks for a napkin. Generally [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] likes to march to the beat of her own drum, as well as being impulsive since she always felt that the most last minute choices make the best memories. She was sort of the one among her friend group who would always say “Just do it!” when it came to those kinds of ideas.
Now that she’s gotten a lot of her wanderlust out of her head she’s ready to head out to college in the fall. She hates to be a stereotype but she has always been good with math and computers, so she’ll be majoring in computer science. [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] hopes to one day enter a career in tech security. Back in high school she may or may not have hacked a few computers that belonged to her friend’s exes in an act of revenge for them cheating on her friends, but she would never admit to that. Not on the record at least. Though the events did inspire her to have a new appreciation for the world of data security now that she’s been on the other side of it.
After enjoying her freedom in Europe she’s looking forward to meeting her roommate and being able to put down some roots with someone new. They’ve already been texting back and forth and planning their apartment. As well as hoping to arrange a few summer hang outs so they can get to know one another before move in day.

[name_f]Emi[/name_f] is currently studying engineering at a different university but they still keep in touch and visit each other often. She’s a bit more reserved than [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] but still has a great sense of humor. [name_f]Emi[/name_f] is also an avid rock climber and often takes [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] on outdoor adventures when she’s back in town.

Ai Nakamura (23) is Emi’s older sister, and usually the person who she stays with when travelling to visit Mimi. The fact the elder of the pair lives in such a convenient location is entirely coincidental, as it just worked out convenient for her job: Ai’s a trainee pharmacist, whose apartment building is only a 10 minute walk away from where she’s undergoing her post-grad placement. Next to Emi, she seems positively a chatterbox, however Ai tends to be pretty reserved herself. Partly it’s because she’s so focused on certain aspects of life - outside of work, she’s an avid knitter and actually attends a club at her local community centre, selling the odd piece on Vinted - however Ai just feels the most comfortable not overwhelming herself.
When she was in high school she belonged to a whole bunch of clubs and ran herself ragged for a while, not wanting to quit as she feared letting her peers down. It was Ai’s mom who convinced her to remove herself from the debate team and photography club, as they were more things she became involved in for her friends, and ended up burdening her life with unnecessary stress. This helped Ai in growing her confidence and willpower when it came to establishing boundaries, something echoed into her romances now. Ai’s grateful she barely dated in high school thanks to being someone much more likely. She’s currently in a casual relationship with a guy she met at uni, however it’s very much moving at a slow pace, and neither one of them is intending on making a massive commitment, given their careers and perspectives on being a couple.
This means the only roommate Ai currently has is Quince - her beloved calico cat who was a gift from her uncle, after a friend’s pet gave birth to kittens. After furiously scouring her lease agreeements, Ai was delighted to learn Quince could be permitted, and her insta is basically a shrine to him as she loves capturing him - even if he sometimes attacks her knitting.

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is currently in a very healthy relationship. Her boyfriend is named [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] and he recently graduated college and is looking for a job. He has a part time job as a clerk at a bookstore. They live in the same apartment and have two cats, [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_u]Austin[/name_u].
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ai[/name_f] aren’t that close but they do run into each other often and like talking to one another. If [name_f]Ai[/name_f] needed anything, [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] wouldn’t hesitate to help out. The two have even had their cats meet.

Being an only child doesn’t phase [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] much either: she has a very close bond with her mom and admits to her Aunt [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] she doesn’t think she’d like to compromise that by sharing the time she gets, even if she knows her cousins and friends’ with siblings are very happy belonging to bigger families.
Currently, Jordan’s very intrigued by romance, so whenever Jayden’s around he’s plagued by questions. She wouldn’t like a boyfriend of her own - they’re still a bit too unpredictable for Jordan’s liking - however it fascinates her seeing how couples interact, and most of the family are amused by her interest in matchmaking; in fact, she’s told her grandma she’d happily run her own dating agency. While she loves [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_u]Austin[/name_u], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] doesn’t mourn the lack of a cat too much as she has two long-haired rabbits of her own - Bubbles and [name_f]Sparkle[/name_f] - who she’s absolutely devoted to caring for.

[name_u]An[/name_u] exhibit curator who specialises in the exploration of extinct animal species, [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] was always the most serious about academics when the siblings were compared, as well as having the most abrasive personality: not that it ever phased her much. Being the ‘second mom’ of the quartet, it’s not a label she ever felt stifled by, and really it’s important to [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] knowing that her sister and brothers’ felt comfortable confiding in her when it was needed. It’s never surprised her siblings to see this is reflected in how [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] views her mom, and the adoration is absolutely returned: Lisette’s never one to shy away from the pride she has in her daughter, although she never wants her child to seem an excuse for bragging rights, and emphasises how Jordan’s successes are entirely her own to feel accomplished about.
While she sometimes teases [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] about things with [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] - displaying a playful side that’s reserved for those she’s closest to - [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] firmly supports her sisters’ choices, including that of not knowing if she wants to have children. [name_m]Rigden[/name_m] used to be kind of bossy to his friends which he’s since considerably stopped. He subdued this after his friends told him to “stop acting like their parent.” [name_u]Truth[/name_u] is, [name_m]Rigden[/name_m] never saw himself as parentified, he saw himself more as a “guide who’s always giving reasonable advice, never gets listened to, and then chaos happens.”
While [name_m]Rigden[/name_m] prefers his Cuban music, he loves classic rock as well and likes English-speaking artists that his brother [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] likes. He’s also learned more about the music Lisette’s fellow single mother friend enjoys. She’s been helpful as well in getting [name_m]Rigden[/name_m] to be calmer and less bossy although she’s not really too pleased about the couple who’s marrying for reasons other than love. She enjoys being single and finds marriages for personal gain to be suspicious even though she and [name_m]Rigden[/name_m] feel a little better knowing both partners in the couple are aware of their decision and mutually consented. A single parent herself, the birth of Kanoa’s daughter was something she actually planned with her then-fiance, however things deteriorated when she was 7 months pregnant. Kanoa’s fiance began getting cold feet about the responsibility of parenting, having been offered a chance to pursue his career abroad, and he got into his head that bringing along a wife and child would place limitations on his opportunities.
Upon him revealing this, [name_m]Kanoa[/name_m] was furious. The pair got into a vicious row, which ended with their engagement dissolving and Kanoa’s ex moved back in with his parents in preparation for his career advancement. His total rejection of fatherhood was a shock to the then-27 year old though, as while they were in a bad spot, she never imagined he’d actually be able to ignore their daughter - an opinion she’s never been happy to have undermined. [name_m]Kanoa[/name_m] received a lot of support from [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] in the aftermath of this, as while financially she was stable and settled, the toll of the abandonment was devastating, in part as she felt she’d failed her daughter.
Last year, the two did have a proper conversation about the absence of Kanoa’s ex in their lives, and while her daughter handled it with strength, Kanoa’s talented at reading people, something that helps in her career as a psychiatric nurse. For someone who appears blunt on a surface level, she always has a great sense of humour, which is a defense mechanism she’s cultivated over the years to help protect her child. Of Polynesian heritage, Kanoa’s ensured her daughter always feels connected to her routes, choosing a first name to mirror her own in origin.

[name_f]Oliana[/name_f] likes to help her mother around the house, but she mostly spends her time playing with the other kids in her neighbourhood. She is very kind and caring, and always looks out for those who need it. She is smart and loves to learn, but also loves to have fun and be silly. [name_f]Oliana[/name_f] is a happy girl with a big heart, and she is sure to be a great person as she grows up. One thing she’s wanting for a special career is surfing and she talks about this a lot.

At the time [name_u]Alex[/name_u] was born, her parents had separated and weren’t living together, realising their marriage was too distant for anything to be saved, aside from preventing animosity and resentment building. Her older brother was only 2 himself, meaning the divorce proceedings were lost on the duo, something their parents’ are greatly thankful for to this day. [name_u]Alex[/name_u] is an easily excited, fast-talking girl, who always loves meeting new people and she’s amassed a ‘tribe’ of friends at kindergarten, as [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] jokingly calls them.
Raised with ties to her two heritages - Cuban from her dad, Italian from her mom - [name_u]Alex[/name_u] loves asking other people about their culture’s, with nothing boring her. This is incorporated into her favourite game, focusing on princesses belonging to fictional kingdoms, with Alex’s alter ego very much being a tribute to [name_u]Cuba[/name_u] and [name_f]Italy[/name_f]. She’s also developed a love of spicy food in spite of her youth, something that amused her uncle [name_m]Rigden[/name_m] greatly. He also purchased her favourite toy companion: [name_f]Bonita[/name_f] the tiger, who accompanies [name_u]Alex[/name_u] everywhere [bar the swimming pool - although this was due to her mom’s intervention].

Their parents did their best but had immigrated from [name_f]Italy[/name_f] with almost nothing. They worked hard to provide for their daughters, and [name_f]Liz[/name_f] is forever grateful. She was able to put herself through college, get a job as an editor, and help her sister support their parents. They’re now retired and in their sixties, living a quiet and easy life. [name_u]Vero[/name_u] and his brother received double barrel surnames - taken from both their maternal grandparents - to further help distance and conceal them from the wider network. In his innocence, Vero’s just decided this is the coolest thing: it makes him ‘double Italian’, don’t you know, and that means he can ask for pizza whenever he wants! (Mom and dad don’t always say yes)
Compared to his older sibling, Vero’s very much the more outgoing and bold child, something that endears him greatly to new people. He loves introducing himself and talking about his favourite things: spies, superheroes and snakes - the S-Trinity, as his dad affectionately calls it. [name_u]Vero[/name_u] has been eager to get a pet snake actually, but he’s a little young, so for now he’s merely making do with his collection of toys: the giant stuffed companion, [name_f]Ana[/name_f], and his jelly snakes, of which there are too many to name. Of course, Vero’s superhero identity is The Rattler, and he’s now drawing costumes for when he debuts as a crimefighter.

[name_f]Bianca[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] Marino-Carillo (6) is the older sister of [name_u]Vero[/name_u] and the oldest child of [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and her husband. [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] is a very sweet and funny little girl who is so excited to go into the 1st grade.
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f] loves school. She loves to learn and one of her favorite things to do is read. Since she stared 1st grade at a new school, she has been eager to get her homework done and always wants to get to her school early. [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] is very shy though, and has trouble making friends. She does have a very close best friend who lives near her and is very outgoing. [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] is drawn to this friend in particular, because they share their love of exploring and learning new things.
Recently, [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] has become very interested in the ocean. She’s been begging for books on the sea and only watches shows about sea exploration. While [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and her husband greatly encourage this, they have been amused by Bianca’s insistence on only reading her book about fish at night. She is super shy unless someone asks her about the ocean or cars (her previous obsession). [name_f]Liz[/name_f] knows this one will pass, and she and her husband are always excited to see Bianca’s new love of one subject.
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f] is also a very good big sister. However much [name_u]Vero[/name_u] annoys her at times, she always listens to his stories and plays superheroes with him. Her superhero character at the moment is Super-Sea, a crime-fighting, ocean-loving, sea-saving superhero. She loves to teach [name_u]Vero[/name_u] about the ocean, and she’s trying to teach him how to read – which is not going so well, since [name_u]Vero[/name_u] is more into action and games than learning and listening. While this frusturates [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] at times, she still persists – much to her parents’ amusement.

[name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] [Heriss] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] (32) is Sophie’s husband and father of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and their son-to-be. He is one of four siblings, younger than [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] but older than [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] jokes a lot about how she’s alone while her siblings have kids and/or got married but she loves having a sister-in-law with a name so close to hers. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] likes to joke that [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is her fave in-law for that reason. He’s very organised and focused, part of being an older sibling, but he’s not the eldest so he doesn’t try to overtake things too much. Kids excite him and he’s always wanted kids. Both children were completely planned and discussed ahead of time before trying to conceive. He remembers enjoying his last moments with [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] as 2 before baby [name_f]Maya[/name_f] made 3, and now has a lot of fun things for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] before her brother enters the scene. [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] loves kids but he’s considering stopping after [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and her brother, but he and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] haven’t set that in stone yet.
He’s excited about his new son and finds it sweet that Sophie’s students are volunteering in making art. Some have even made art for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] as well to keep her from feeling left out. At first [name_f]Maya[/name_f] didn’t want another sibling. She was tired of people talking about “this baby who wasn’t even born yet” and even faked sick to avoid the baby shower. And following her father’s planned ways of life, she actually tried hard to fake it. She mixed around some pasta, oil, yeast, and vegetables to make fake vomit. She feigned symptoms a few days ahead to “build up to her illness”. She napped a lot. She crumpled up tissues and threw them on her bed. She splashed warm water on her face and neck. She did the old “put a thermometer in something warm to raise the temperature”. She watched YouTube videos and did Google searches on how to fake sick. And yet despite her efforts in “training”, she stopped faking sick and claimed she was “all better” when she learned the baby shower would have cake!
Now [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is better prepared. To act sick? No, to welcome a new baby brother! [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] has also been happy for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] too and asks [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] as much as she can about the new baby. [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] knows [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] is an oceanographer, another reason why she’s so happy to him and always eager. [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] is very close with [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and her husband and engage in a lot of long conversations, especially about their kids. He’s also been supportive towards [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] during her pregnancies and is a nice husband, using her ways of chill relaxation during times where her pregnancy symptoms and cravings are spontaneous. [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] isn’t spontaneous but he’s grateful for [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] in his life to reassure him when he gets worried. He and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] have finished up the backyard and have a small playground for [name_f]Maya[/name_f] to enjoy. And yes, she very much enjoys it.

[name_f]Amanda[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] (24) is Theodoric’s cousin, who moved to the same city for work. She works as a graphic designer and often helps [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] with creating flyers and posters for her school events. [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodoric[/name_m] hang out together on weekends, often going hiking or trying out new restaurants. They have a close relationship and often talk about their families and childhood memories. [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] is also fond of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and often brings her small gifts or takes her out for ice cream.

Juniper Marie Reyes (24) is Amanda’s girlfriend of 3 years. She loves crocheting Amanda (and Maya!) fun little trinkets and things to brighten their days. Juniper loves to see people happy and light up inside, which is why she works as a social worker. After being in foster care when she was a teen, she can sometimes have attachment issues and can think that people (especially Amanda) are mad at her when they’re not.
Amanda and Juniper sometimes have little “girls days out” with Maya, Sophie, and Sophia, which normally result in lots of silliness. Juniper has always wished to have children of her own, but for now she is content with Maya. Juniper also loves to cook, especially whenever Amanda has Theodoric over. She loves seeing people enjoy a good meal and have a good time.

[name_f]Sesi[/name_f] [name_f]Naja[/name_f] Nanuuq (24) is a friend to [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] and is also into graphic designing. Her younger sister, who’s 13, is best friends with [name_f]Kara[/name_f] Ridgely-Tobuk. [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] is close with her culture, being of Inuit descent, but likes swimming and summer-related activities a lot. She is a professional diver, being a sport she’s been involved in for most of her life. She supports [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] together, especially since she feels that they are very nice for once another and that [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is very crafty. [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] likes to join the “girls days out” when she can, despite living in a different but neighbouring city. She understands how [name_f]Maya[/name_f] feels about her brother-to-be since she was the same way about her sister before she was born. Sesi’s next-door neighbours also have a 6-year-old girl and a baby, although the baby is adopted. They’re enjoying watching the baby grow but are pondering when the best age is to let the baby know they’re adopted. It’s been a debate since they don’t want to tell too soon but they don’t want to tell too late. They are going to do it rather than leave their child in the dark but allow their adoptive baby to enjoy infancy more for now.
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] know Sesi’s neighbours a bit when they visit [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] so they have seen the kids before and find it enjoyable. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] have seen the 6-year-old girl once over the summer when she attended an ocean-themed day camp with them. [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] has known [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] longer when she met her at a day camp for kids, although this was for cooking camp. She was introduced to [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] by [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], which was ironic seeing [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] and [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] were actually attending the same university at the time, and they helped [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] pursue graphic design as well. [name_f]Sesi[/name_f] does diving a lot more than graphic design at the moment but she doesn’t underestimate her graphic design skills she learns at university and will most likely work full-time graphic designing when she retires from diving as a professional sport.
