[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] Ridgely (23) is Pete’s girlfriend and a fellow bisexual who’s faced attempts at labels being placed on her depending who she’s dated. This primarily took place in high school as [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] went out with a lot of people in relationships she doesn’t entirely count - constantly bouncing around due to there being a palpable obsession with not being alone her friend group was dominated by; something she only got out of when she was in her final year and swore off dating to focus on her exams. It was during this time, [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] came to enjoy her own company once again, and she realised how merely being with someone for the sake of it held back everyone’s happiness - gradually helping her friends see they didn’t need to be with anyone to feel secure in themselves.
Currently working at a pet store, [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is hugely involved and invested in animal rights, having had a desire to study zoology but the unenviable debt this would involve was something she wasn’t willing to ask her parents to face. Instead she’s taking a different route: one [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] knows will likely take longer than obtaining a degree, but that by gaining lots of active experience working with animals, her chances of working with them in their natural environments increases. She’s very informative when communicating with customers but not patronising, as she knows people hate to be lectured when buying a pet, and this animosity only leads to animals not being given the proper care they deserve.
Unlike [name_m]Pete[/name_m], [name_u]Ash[/name_u] and [name_f]Quilla[/name_f] - the latter two she considers dear friends - [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] was raised as an only child, although she does have paternal siblings. Her parents went through a messy divorce when she was just two, and subsequently she was raised by her mom and stepdad, who didn’t want to have any more children due their hectic schedules. On her dad’s side she has two younger half-siblings and a stepsister, but there hasn’t been much contact as her father’s treatment of her mother - namely leading a smear campaign out of petty spite due to her getting primary child custody - means [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] doesn’t have much time for him, admitting to [name_m]Pete[/name_m] (who she trusts more than anyone) she resents him for trying to turn people against her mother.

She often doesn’t stay around town due to the drama but also moving back to her native [name_u]Alaska[/name_u], as she is of Inuit Eskimo descent. She hates when people stereotype her as someone who has polar bears for pets, however she does have a male pet tabby cat back home named Twinkie. She secretly doesn’t support her dad and thinks he is very rude to Leonora’s mother, another reason why she’s glad she stays in [name_u]Alaska[/name_u], but she wishes she had a way to contact [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] and thinks she is a nice and smart young woman.

Kara’s remained mostly ignorant of the conflict between her dad and his ex-wife, but this largely comes from Awa’s efforts, as she doesn’t want to see her little sister dragged into the family politics given how ugly they’ve been over the years. She’s met [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] on a few occasions but is actually a bit intimidated by her older sister, who she considers effortlessly more cool and stylish than she’ll ever be - always wanting to present herself in the maturist manner possible to make a good impression. Her current major passions are sketching animals she sees around the garden and netball: something that she plays both competitively at school and also for fun with her friends, who share this passion - as the sports become notably popular at the middle school [name_f]Kara[/name_f] attends.
Through her mom and [name_f]Awa[/name_f], [name_f]Kara[/name_f] also has a strong connection to her Inuit culture, taking a lot of pride in being biracial and she tries to be equal in how she addresses her heritage. Her best friend is also a member of the Inuit community and they share a close bond due to their mutual familial similarities, although Kara’s sometimes a bit jealous as her friend’s family life is much less complicated than her own situation. Still she tries to avoid bitterness, as her mom’s always steering her from it due to Kara’s fathers’ demeanour, and she’s more often happy-go-lucky, which cheers her parents up considerably; even her stern father who’s seen as dour by most people. Currently, she has no clue what she wants in the future but [name_f]Awa[/name_f] has reassured her she has plenty of time and to not fixate on how some of her friends know their paths at such a young age. [name_f]Kara[/name_f] also has a crush on one of her friend’s older brother’s but he’s seventeen and involved with someone else, so she merely pines…not as subtly as she thinks she manages to.

[name_f]Junko[/name_f] " [name_u]June[/name_u] " Kobayashi (17) is Kara’s crush’s girlfriend. [name_f]Junko[/name_f] finds Kara’s crush to be very adorable, and knows that her boyfriend isn’t a creep to encourage [name_f]Kara[/name_f] in her pursuit of love. She tries to be friendly to [name_f]Kara[/name_f], although [name_f]Junko[/name_f] assumes that in the 13 year-old’s mind she’s her biggest adversary. Junko’s own older sister assures her that Kara’s going to get over it— reminding [name_f]Junko[/name_f] that she once had a crush on her significant other.
[name_f]Junko[/name_f] lives with her two older siblings and their single mother. Her father cheated on her mother and they had a swift divorce. Her father did try to introduce his girlfriend to the Kobayashi siblings, but to no avail: [name_f]Junko[/name_f] told him in very unkind words that she didn’t want anything to do with him after he hurt her mother like that. Her father still tries to reach out every now and then, but [name_f]Junko[/name_f] doesn’t know if she wants to let him in. This is in very stark contrast with how they were when they were younger— she used to be closer with her father. Due to unfortunate happenstance, [name_f]Junko[/name_f] was cheated on by her ex right before the news of her father’s infidelity broke, making the incident hit home a lot harder than it should have.
[name_f]Junko[/name_f] has graduated high school early and is in university as an art student. She wishes to major in visual art, although she has been dying her friends’ hair for a small profit.

[name_m]Mitsuki[/name_m] " [name_f]Suki[/name_f] " Kobayashi (20) is Junko’s older sister and advisor when it comes to what she jokingly calls the ‘love triangle’ her siblings experiencing. Having been older at the time of the affair, [name_f]Suki[/name_f] was even more unforgiving than [name_f]Junko[/name_f] regarding their father’s actions and refused to have anything to do with him, removing any and all photos containing him from her room in the aftermath. She’s become a more forgiving person as she’s aged - now being the main peacemaker between her friends in fallouts and offers advice to her siblings if warranted - but admits to her mother that it’ll take a lot longer where Mr. Kobayashi is concerned, his audacity regarding his girlfriend being especially bitter for [name_f]Suki[/name_f], who was outraged at his assumption she and her siblings could just get over his betrayal.
[name_f]Suki[/name_f] opted against university to instead become involved directly in work at a women’s shelter, starting as a volunteer after graduation, and working her way up to becoming a receptionist, with plans to move into counselling. A lot of people assume personal experience motivated her decision but [name_f]Suki[/name_f] dispels this easily: she just wants to provide help. Her real motivation comes from her own confidence, seeing a lot of her loved one’s lacked this and instead of pity or dismissal, [name_f]Suki[/name_f] decided to help others gain this, with an especial empathy for those trapped in abusive relationships. She’s recently moved out the family home and lives with her colleague who she befriended while they were both volunteering, but regularly cycles to see her mom and [name_f]Junko[/name_f], spending overnights there if she feels her roommate wants some space. [name_f]Suki[/name_f] isn’t looking for a relationship right now but has come out as queer to her family, as she wants to remain her authenticity in all areas of life.

Sayaka Kobayashi (19) is the second eldest Kobayashi sister and Junko’s older sister. Being in the middle of [name_f]Suki[/name_f] and [name_f]Junko[/name_f] as children was not fun, as the two bickered often in childhood and Sayaka was (jokingly) pulled into the middle of a lot of squabbles. Although these fights weren’t that serious, perhaps that was something that created Sayaka’s preference to stay neutral in confrontations— especially if she had to be in the good graces of both parties involved.
She was the one who caught her father with the other woman in public, and spent the next 48 hours of her life awake and debating if she should tell her mother or let her father tell her herself. Sayaka proceeded to choose the latter, and thankfully, her father did confess to the affair. Whilst Sayaka cannot bring herself to forgive her father just yet, she does respect that he did tell her as soon as he was caught. Junko’s ex did not give her little sister that closure, and Sayaka swears that if she meets the boy herself she’d send him straight to the hospital.
Sayaka, like her sister, decided to not pursue a higher education and became a jewellery maker instead. Her mother did express some apprehension when she first started, but when Sayaka gained a following and brought profits in, her mother became her biggest supporter. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though Sayaka does make alternative jewellery, her mother insists on wearing some necklaces, which she appreciates. Sayaka also helps [name_f]Suki[/name_f] with the women’s shelter: a portion of her profits is donated there every three months or so.

Da-jin “DJ” Chang (17) is a friend of the Kobayashi family. He is a maternal cousin of Sabine Chang but his parents and the rest of his family moved away out of fear they could be in unsafe conditions due to Sabine’s brother being falsely rumoured as a murderer. However he is very close with Sabine and her brother and his family is not cutting them out of their life, instead just temporarily leaving for safety. DJ and Sabine are very social with one another and DJ faces a dilemma. When his family moved to the new community, he had to deal with being the “new kid on the block”, which he didn’t like. The Kobayashi family was very warm and welcoming to his family, which DJ greatly appreciates. However DJ also bonded with Junko’s ex, being new to the town and having no idea her ex was a cheater. He knows now about the conflict and is glad Junko isn’t together with him anymore, but is very shy and doesn’t quite know how to break off contact with her ex as a friend as he is stuck in the middle and knows it’s a bad idea to continue being friends with both.

[name_f]Annika[/name_f] " [name_u]Nik[/name_u] " [name_f]Karina[/name_f] Jarvinen (17) is another friend of [name_f]Junko[/name_f] and an acquaintance of DJ - the two not quite being friends yet as [name_u]Nik[/name_u] loathes Junko’s ex for all he put her through and fully agrees with Sayaka’s perspective. She tries to keep her friend’s mind off all that occurred instead of dwelling on the unpleasantness, as [name_u]Nik[/name_u] feels he isn’t worth the amount of mental effort given how he chose to behave, although she’s understanding this isn’t as easy for [name_f]Junko[/name_f] given her extremely personal connection to him. Openly pan-demisexual, [name_u]Nik[/name_u] began going out with her girlfriend five months ago, the two having started out as lab partners in somewhat ironic circumstances: Nik’s way more into creative writing than she is chemistry and her girlfriend’s a natural at STEM, which a lot of their friends affectionately joke about. She’s not someone big on PDA and prefers written gestures: primarily poetry or small notes professing her affection. More than anything, [name_u]Nik[/name_u] wants to pursue writing professionally: be it journalism or novels of her own penning - writing both pieces intermittently as a means of preparation.
Coming from a Finnish-American family, [name_u]Nik[/name_u] is heavily involved in her familial culture and is always willing to discuss it with others, although she never wants to impose things. [name_u]Nik[/name_u] has quite a blunt manner that some people find abrasive or rude, even when she doesn’t intend on coming across that way. Her friends find this a bonus as if you want someone on your side in an argument, Nik’s incredibly loyal and defensive, but if they’re enquiring about fashion, she’s not the best to look for sensitive feedback. [name_u]Nik[/name_u] asks for this brutal honesty in return though and her remarkably thick skin means she’ll take almost anything on the chin - unless it’s something deeply personal, usually regarding her family. She’s quite a lot older than her younger siblings, and her naturally authoritarian personality means if their mom isn’t getting through, Nik’s very capable of getting the point across with her directness. Aside from her writing, [name_u]Nik[/name_u] attends vocal lessons and is very fond of singing in Finnish. She also owns a pet gecko named [name_m]Norm[/name_m], who she’s always showing to her friends and treats him like a personal celebrity.

[name_m]Matthias[/name_m] [name_u]Jack[/name_u] [name_u]Eagle[/name_u] (17) is the brother of Nik’s girlfriend and a fraternal triplet, being the only boy out of his two triplet sisters. He is the middle by birth order, being 6 minutes younger than the girl dating [name_u]Nik[/name_u] but 18 minutes older than their other triplet sister. He is currently dating a fellow Scandinavian woman who isn’t related to [name_u]Nik[/name_u] but he loves her and loves all of the countries there and hates when people act like they’re all the same. Talking to [name_u]Nik[/name_u] about her Finnish culture is something he loves discussing although his sister/Nik’s girlfriend loves it the most. He is also into STEM and wants to get into pharmaceuticals when he’s an adult. He too sides with [name_f]Junko[/name_f] and was never friends with her ex but gives DJ the benefit of the doubt since he was the new kid on the block at the time. [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] and his family were also the new family on the block at one time, but he and his triplet siblings were only 8 at the time and they’re much more immersed in the community now. He is also very smart at animal science, which is something his parents raised them to be and they have a house with lots of pets. Matthias’ sister who is dating [name_u]Nik[/name_u] loves [name_m]Norm[/name_m] the gecko and is very happy [name_u]Nik[/name_u] loves and cares about him as much as they care about their pets.

[name_f]Sanna[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Eagle[/name_u] (17) is one of Matthias’s sisters and the youngest triplet. Like him and their older sister, [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] is into STEM, although her interest is mathematics - something her friends joke about not understanding no matter how long they’ve individually known her. She’s a very loyal and caring person who’s never been the most outgoing but has a clear quiet confidence about her, most notably when participating in academic competitions, and even if she doesn’t stand out in the moment, [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] never looses sight on achieving her goals. While she’s close to her triplet siblings, [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] doesn’t have much in terms of friendship overlap as she doesn’t have as many artistically inclined associations, and likes to joke she’s a nerd through and through on account of reading comics and graphic novels when she’s enjoying some downtime. In further contrast she’s also single right now but very much happily so as she loves spending time with her friends or doting upon the family dog, [name_f]Clara[/name_f], a [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]. They usually hang out at the local mall but aren’t frequent shoppers, instead usually just hanging out and enjoying some privacy, as [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] prefers to be out when her siblings are hanging out with their significant others’.
Recently, [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] also began rock-climbing at the invitation of her best friend, who she’s known since the pair were only 5 and attending girl scouts together - Sanna’s sister quit pretty quickly due to disinterest, but she thoroughly enjoyed it and remained. This decision surprised [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] and her sister - as [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] always hated Phys [name_m]Ed[/name_m] - but she’s absolutely loving the challenge, comparing it to her competitions in terms of the feeling of success it brings. With their individual interests, relationships and commitments, [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] and her siblings most commonly hang out when dogwalking, but this is something that means a lot to them and she hasn’t lost any of her closeness with either of them in spite of growing into different people. Often she journals her personal experiences as a triplet, finding it a satisfying time that also allows her to talk to others about what it’s likely - namely dispelling rumours about psychic bonds or sharing the same interests…although when they were little they did have their own language that all three vividly know still.

[name_f]Aina[/name_f] [name_f]Joanne[/name_f] [name_u]Eagle[/name_u] (17) is the middle triplet (although she doesn’t believe in that). A STEM enthusiast, she’s interested in chemistry and how things are made. She’s quiet and keeps most at an arms distance, and prefers to keep a small circle of very close friends. Her siblings are an exception to this, though, and she’s very close with all of them. All of them come from fairly different circles, but [name_f]Aina[/name_f] doesn’t care. She’s never cared for weird high school cliques, anyway. She’s currently the proposed valedictorian of her class and plans to make sure that happens. Outside of STEM, though, [name_f]Aina[/name_f] likes to sew and make her own clothes. She’ll sometimes steal pieces from her siblings’ closets and turn them into outfits, although she makes sure that her siblings will definitely not miss those items in question.
Although [name_f]Aina[/name_f] loves [name_u]Nik[/name_u], she is afraid that her nature’s going to scare her away— Aina’s ex-boyfriend said those words verbatim to her and it gave her a complex. She’s sure her siblings can tell what’s wrong, but Aina’s not going to say anything.

[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] Hanwick (17) is a friend of Aina’s who belongs to the same circle of friends, which is unsurprising given her own reputation as being reserved and curt around new people. Although she’s never rude to anyone, [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] makes it clear to most people she isn’t interested in making an abundance of new friends, stemming from the fact she grew up an army brat and was constantly moving around - meaning once she’d settled and found her niche, the stability meant a great deal to her, and she’s self-confessed to not being the best person with change given what it symbolised throughout childhood.
When she isn’t furthering her explorations of technology - the field she’s determined to break into in one way or another, presumably with an eco-friendly spin given the current state of the world - Bonnie’s performing in gymnastics competitions or going running as a means of burning off energy. She’ll admit to anyone she’s a bit of a perfectionist who likes to keep her orders in good affair, and her mom frequently jokes about her being the ‘third parent’ of their household given she’s always got her stuff prepared. Her parents do catch up with [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] on a regular basis though, as she’s prone to trying to take care of things entirely by herself, which was notable when she confronted Aina’s ex.

[name_f]Camalia[/name_f] [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] Hanwick (16) is Bonnie’s younger sister. She and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] are both very independent and introverted and they sometimes hang out with one another but usually focus on their own lives. [name_f]Camalia[/name_f] doesn’t have a “circle of friends” and is friends with a few people who are much different from each other and says she likes it like that better. However it does come at the disadvantage that her friends don’t hang out with each other, making group activities rare. [name_f]Camalia[/name_f] can be rebellious at times and that’s when [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] steps in to be her “third parent” even though she is only a year younger than her. Still, [name_f]Camalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] get along and have a mutual friend. [name_f]Camalia[/name_f] is dating DJ and knows she can get him to make he right choice and cut off Junko’s ex as a friend and [name_f]Camalia[/name_f] also disdains Aina’s ex as well, clapping for [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] when she called him out.

[name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is more quiet and reserved than her sisters but unlike her sisters she knows when too ask for help and when she needs support. She is often being told what to do by [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and this includes about her best friend. Veronica’s best friend is the daughter of a well-known criminal and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] thinks they should stop being friends but [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] disagrees.

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] Xiaoqian Zhang (18) is a childhood friend of [name_f]Bonne[/name_f] and [name_f]Aina[/name_f]. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is one of the oldest of her grade, her birthday being just beyond the cut off of being a grade higher. She’s seen [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] a few times and personally stays away from her, disliking preteens on principle. It’s nothing personal— [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is the eldest of five children, and having four younger brothers makes you avoid children like the plague. She has her own circus to manage.
She mostly spends her time outside her home due to the fact that it’s always crowded. Although [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] loves her parents, she wishes that she had her own space at home: as the eldest, she’s expected to accommodate her younger siblings and take care of them at the same time. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is one of the top students of her class and is on the student council, but she thinks her parents don’t notice.

He is a paternal uncle of the Hanwick sisters, being the younger brother of their father, but keeps an unbiased nature. He and his wife have only one child but his wife is currently pregnant, although this new baby isn’t his — or hers. She’s serving as a surrogate mother for her sister, his sister-in-law. He and his wife may have other children after the one they already have, but aren’t sure yet.
Having [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] in his class makes him proud of her because she excels at his class and he is always happy to see what she submits for his assignments. He is a honours teacher but still makes sure not to make everything too difficult, instead just making the pace a little faster. He has always given his students feedback on their assignments and he would like them to feel good about themselves and feel rewarded. He feels [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] doesn’t get that support at home as much and hopes she isn’t always feeling discredited.

[name_u]Vida[/name_u] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] [Greene] Hanwick (31) is Brent’s wife and the mother of their son, who’s just celebrated his third birthday. [name_u]Vida[/name_u] often jokes she’s the polar opposite of her husband, as she’s quite a bit older than her two youngest siblings - one who’s non-binary and a brother - with her the older of the two being ten years younger than [name_u]Vida[/name_u]. Her parents were only nineteen when [name_u]Vida[/name_u] and her twin sister were born and actually spent part of her childhood living together but not being a couple, as they wanted to prioritise raising their child over forcing a relationship: a decision that actually allowed them to reconcile shortly after Vida’s fifth birthday. Currently working as a dental nurse, Vida’s always been a natural academic, but this hasn’t dulled her romantic sensibilities - as she’s dedicated to ensuring she and [name_m]Brent[/name_m] have time together as a couple; although she loves her son dearly and dislikes being away from him for an extended period of time.
Aside from planning impromptu date nights for herself and her husband, [name_u]Vida[/name_u] is heavily invested in environmental causes, and has been vegetarian since she was ten. She doesn’t insist anyone around her has to change their diet but is very pleased both her siblings are interested in conservationism and animal protection, with the three spending time attending protests or environmentalism meetings together. [name_u]Vida[/name_u] has plans on taking her son with them when he’s a little older, as long as he feels comfortable, but spoke to [name_m]Brent[/name_m] about this before he was even born as she didn’t want to go into parenthood without being as transparent as possible. The couple met through Vida’s twin - who she’s serving as a surrogate for - as they had mutual friends, with [name_m]Brent[/name_m] being introduced to [name_u]Vida[/name_u] at a party, and she still suspects her sister planned on setting them up.

[name_u]January[/name_u] gets on with [name_u]Vida[/name_u] and Vida’s family but is more close with their younger brother who is 2 years younger than them. They are a cyber security analyst and they met their wife in work because their wife is the Ceo of the company they work for. [name_u]January[/name_u] has always been in too computing and has their degree in computer science. January’s wife is 23 and they have 2 year old twins together and are adopting another child from Japan next year after the tech company have released their new product. The mother is expecting the child who they will adopt after birth, they are close friends with the mother, who has reasons to want to give her child up.

[name_f]Brittany[/name_f] likes to finger paint and is very confident in doing so while [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] is more shy except when watching his fave TV shows when he’s full of energy. [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] sometimes likes to stand tall on pillows and act like she’s the older sibling for fun and act like a “big girl” but little does she know she’s 14 minutes younger than [name_m]Tomas[/name_m]! She loves having big natural hair to look taller and [name_u]January[/name_u] and their siblings support this, seeing that people should always be confident in their racial attributes and knows the twins will be excited for their new Japanese adoptive sibling-to-be when the baby is born. [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] always acts proud of his parents and he is, even if her doesn’t understand technology. However he is already a self-proclaimed geek and loves robots and aliens. The twins also love their cousin, the 3-year-old son of [name_u]Vida[/name_u] and [name_m]Brent[/name_m], and are excited for their new cousin.
