[name_m]Emre[/name_m] [name_m]Mehmet[/name_m] Kolfa (38) is the foster father of [name_u]Braxton[/name_u] and adoptive father of his siblings. He is also Annemarie’s husband, who loves her dearly, and was grateful to carry on her idea of adopting children. They know [name_u]Braxton[/name_u] is still being fostered and isn’t quite adopted like [name_f]Zizi[/name_f] but nonetheless will welcome him with open arms regardless. [name_m]Emre[/name_m] himself was temporarily fostered as a child but did end up going back to his biological parents, who ironically just found out they were 1 month pregnant with another child. At first [name_m]Emre[/name_m] worried that his biological parents were replacing him while he was gone, but he knows now that’s far from the truth. He felt some pressure within his family when he was reunited that his parents had to work 110% to prove their worth, but at the same time he’s never used this against them. He still fondly remembers his foster parents during this difficult time, who have since been on good terms with his biological parents. He worries about how they feel that he didn’t stay with them but they’ve been supportive of the reunification regardless.
[name_m]Emre[/name_m] wonders if he could foster [name_f]Orianna[/name_f] as well. He and [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f] have the room for one more, but he doesn’t want to say anything too soon in case it all doesn’t work out. [name_u]Braxton[/name_u] knows that [name_f]Orianna[/name_f] would rather be reunited than fostered or adopted and [name_m]Emre[/name_m] understands, being at the perspective of a reunified child. [name_m]Emre[/name_m] also talks about his younger sibling in terms of the perspective since [name_m]Emre[/name_m] is glad to be reunited and have the sibling bond he otherwise wouldn’t have. The two Kolfa siblings are much closer now as adults and have managed to set aside differences for the most part. [name_m]Emre[/name_m] remembers his family being the only one in the neighbourhood of Turkish descent so he remembers that being a bit of a pressure to him as well. He’s very proud of it and focuses a lot of his time on supporting diversity, both with his own culture and the cultures of other people. He’s the boys’ basketball coach for [name_u]Braxton[/name_u], [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], and other boys on their team, the Foxes and the team has a lot of nice diversity this year. [name_m]Emre[/name_m] loved playing basketball as a kid and was also part of the chess team as well. Although he’s more of a basketball person now, he’s still going to argue that according to the Olympics themselves, chess is a sport!
