Big sisters are Holly and Sunny. We’ve been calling her baby Lou, Lou Lou, and Louie (Louie Bluebell, and Louie Blueberry).
What are your feelings? I feel a connection to this name, but I do have concerns. Is Lou really gender neutral? My personal feeling is Lou alone is more feminine than masculine.
If you feel the vibe we are going for, I’d love to hear any other suggestions you may have. We are down to the wire. Thanks!
i think it’s gender-neutral, but i’d expect to see it on a girl if i heard it as a child’s name. i think that the longer middle name balances it out nicely, and it’s really sweet with Holly and Sunny!
I think [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] goes great with big sisters’ names! [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] is a cute middle name too actually.
I think [name_u]Lou[/name_u] can be gender neutral but I might assume girl before I would assume boy. I do think it leans feminine.
I love [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]! Bookish, a little spunky and feminine. [name_u]Louie[/name_u] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] and [name_u]Louie[/name_u] Blueberry are adorable nicknames.
[name_u]Lou[/name_u] is so cute I adore the flow of [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]! Only things…Lou on it’s own I always imagine the loo like the restroom. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] still keeps that flow (and the way I pronounce [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] which is emphasizing the S and really saying SUH at the end instead of the limp and dull zuh makes the S pop in both names and bind them together more!) and that way when people ask “Is [name_u]Lou[/name_u] short for anything” “My real names [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], but I go by Lou” it makes more sense. Also, [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is so adorable on a girl but as she gets older, it may not be as fitting so she can always go by her full name [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. I knew several Katie’s and Annie’s who ended up going by [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], and [name_u]Anne[/name_u] when they became adults because they grew past those names. [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is to die for! so all I’m suggesting is consider if you and your family are sure [name_u]Lou[/name_u] should be her name her whole life. Please, don’t feel like you have to take my suggestions so I’m sending my love! So excited for your baby girl
Oh my goodness, [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is perfect. I am so in love [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is simple and sweet but so full of personality, and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is gorgeous and fits beautifully with it. I do think [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is gender neutral, but if I had to guess, I’d guess girl. And [name_u]Holly[/name_u], [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] & [name_u]Lou[/name_u] are just delightful as sisters!
[name_u]Holly[/name_u] & [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] are so cute! [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is really nice for their little sister, & I think that it’s gender neutral. But I also think it’s just a bit short. What do you think of [name_f]Lula[/name_f]? Then you could call her [name_u]Lou[/name_u], but she has a more feminine full name as well. I think that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] are also lovely, but [name_f]Lula[/name_f] feels the best w/big sisters’ names.
[name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is so lovely and goes brilliantly with [name_u]Holly[/name_u] and [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]! They all have a very breezy, chilled vibe separately and together - very summery. [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is definitely gender neutral but on its own I’d absolutely see it as a girl’s name. To me, [name_u]Lou[/name_u] on a boy would likely be a nickname for [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] or [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] whereas [name_u]Lou[/name_u] on its own feels more feminine. If you did want a longer name though [name_f]Luella[/name_f] or [name_f]Lua[/name_f] would be gorgeous. Actually, I think I’m a bit in love with [name_f]Lua[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]!
[name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is darling! I prefer a more formal name with nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and we often call her [name_f]Lu[/name_f]. I love the suggestion of
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
