Egg Babies!

So in health class we recently got eggs that we need to carry around for a week and not crack to show us about parenthood. It’s very exciting because everyone named their eggs! Here were some of the choices

Boys:
[name]John[/name] [name]Timothy[/name] “JT”
[name]Nate[/name] (Gossip girl)
[name]Chuck[/name] (Gossip girl)
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Damon[/name] (Vampire Diaries)
Eggo
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Wren[/name] (Pretty [name]Little[/name] Liars)
[name]Dwayne[/name] (Sports)
[name]Carmelo[/name] (Sports)
[name]Devonne[/name]
[name]Aiden[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]

Girls:
[name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Isabella[/name]
[name]Blair[/name] (Gossip Girl)
[name]Leighton[/name]
[name]Peyton[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]

Personally I named mine after a character too. I chose [name]Giles[/name] from [name]Buffy[/name] the Vampire Slayer

Aw, I remember egg babies! I love [name]Giles[/name] from [name]Buffy[/name], too. I named my egg baby Elfin. It was my favorite name ever at that point, and I am very glad now that I did not have an actual baby to actually name at age fourteen.

a girl in my class is 14 and pregnant due next week calling her baby boy [Name]Cayden[/Name]. I think its awful shes pregnant but feel lousy at the same time just thought i would say because you mentioned " glad i never had a baby at 14 "

[name]Giles[/name] & [name]Elfin[/name] are cute names for egg babies i named mine [name]Diego[/name] Because it has an Egg sound in it

Oh…egg babies! I had one too. Mine was a boy, and although I was ‘into’ names then, I wouldn’t have considered myself a name nerd. Actually, I did name a beanie baby [name]Mordecai[/name]… my egg baby was the completely boring, [name]Alexander[/name] [name]James[/name].

I had one of the robot babies that cried and you had to hold a key in its back; luckily I got my project done before my school started with the babies that you had to feed, burp, and change its diaper.

I named mine [name]William[/name] [name]Jeffrey[/name].

[name]William[/name] was my “baby daddy” and [name]Jeffrey[/name] is my dad’s name.

I had an egg baby in the seventh grade and remember that I was sooo excited to name it. I got a girl and named her [name]Emmanuelle[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. Pretty good for a 12 year old, I think! This was in '98 or '99, so before [name]Rose[/name] was such a popular middle name too…

[name]Delilah[/name] is cute.

I remember egg babies, I called mine [name]Evangeline[/name].

I had a fake baby you actually had to rock, burp, feed and change its diaper. I loved it. I named mine [name]William[/name] and I can’t remember the middle name haha.

In grade six we had egg babies, I called mine Eggbertie. However the point was we had to look after it for six weeks then make a contraption that you put the egg inside so when its tossed off the balcony it wouldn’t break. All for the name of science.

Eggbertie died a horrific death, thrown off the balcony inside a paper rocket my partner and I made. /sad.

We had to carry around a baby doll for our lesson. Not a fancy one like other people are mentioning, just a regular doll of our choice. (Didn’t learn a thing; we just felt silly carrying dolls around everywhere we went like we were five years old again.) I think I used one of my old Cabbage Patch dolls, which I renamed [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name].

Ha! We never did this in school, but I always wished we did ever since I read a Babysitters Club book where the girls all have egg babies (the book was called “[name]Maryanne[/name] and Too Many Babies”)! I don’t remember what all their babies were called, but [name]Maryanne[/name]'s was [name]Samantha[/name]!

We never did this either. Must be a north america thing. Sounds interesting though!

I never had an egg baby, but I did have a plant baby (a kid in my grade was allergic to eggs). I gave it like five names that I don’t remember, but the first name with [name]Reginald[/name].

In addition I had a child development class in high school where we had to fill out developmental charts for our “baby” for a year. I named mine [name]Kyler[/name] [name]Kingston[/name].

I did this with one of those electronic babies that cry, and you have to use a special sensor to care for it and then feed it and change its diaper. It came with a bottle and also this awkward clip-on patch for “breastfeeding”… about 95% of the time I put a hat on the darn thing, clipped the patch to that and voila, hands-free robot feeding. The guys in my class got a kick out of “breastfeeding” their babies in public though, lol. High school was weird…

Anyway, I named my first robot baby (a girl) [name]Isobel[/name] [name]Leigh[/name]. This was well before the current [name]Bella[/name]/[name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name] trend. I was writing a story with [name]Isobel[/name] as the MC’s name and [name]Leigh[/name] because the cadence of it reminded me of the poem, [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. I forget what I named the second baby I took home (a boy - at that point I think I liked the name [name]Alexander[/name] a lot), probably because by the end of the five days I was calling it “the devil”. It was demonic and shrieked CONSTANTLY no matter what you did to appease it.

Weird side note: I was 16 at the time and had to take this robot baby EVERYWHERE, including out in public, and besides people staring at me awkwardly, the reception I got was oddly good. The thing looked so real I actually had more than one person tell me how beautiful my “daughter” was, and one lady even asked me if she could hold her. That lady I explained the story to, the rest I just let them believe it was a real baby, lol.

I remember reading that book and wanting to do it as well, but we never did. I did, however, see it done on an episode of a kids’ TV show recently and one of the characters named her egg ‘Eggward’, which I found rather amusing.

I had to carry a doll that weighed six pounds, I named it [name]Talia[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Lenore[/name].

My egg baby was [name]Topanga[/name]. Can you guess what show I was obsessed with at the time?

We did that, except it was a lemon since our teacher didn’t want his classroom to smell like a rotten egg  I think mine was [name]Timothy[/name], and my friend’s was [name]Thurston[/name].

I had the exact same doll in high school! The sensors on ours were awful, though. Didn’t work worth poop!
It was great taking the baby to class with me, hoping she would need care and I could have a “get out of class free” card!
I only had my baby for three days I think, but I named her [name]Harmony[/name] [name]Blue[/name]!
Take that, [name]Beyonce[/name].

I did this in ninth grade with a 10-pound sack of rice, haha! They had us decapitate dolls and attach their limbs and heads to the sack of rice and dress them, lol.

I remember I named mine [name]Hayley[/name]. I think her full name was [name]Hayley[/name] [name]Abigail[/name] or [name]Hayley[/name] [name]Marie[/name].
