hello! i’m actually going to skip two years with miss scout. i think it’ll be more fun and interesting for me to write about, so scout will now be three years old and not one!

woah! it has been a while since i last posted here, i’ve really missed it!

miss scout over the last two years

and now here we are…i’m nineteen (twenty tomorrow), reuben so twenty (twenty one in august) and we have our darling three year old miss scout. though things have changed a little, as within the next few weeks we’re adding another member to our family. we know the sex though we’re not planning to reveal until birth, any guesses?

Not much of a post from me today, still waiting on my first child to-be, which I’m super excited! I’m still enjoying my nurse career though I know maternity leave will be sooner than I know it! We keep telling her moving up isn’t that hard at her age but, ya know! I actually have good memories of myself in middle school, but juggling homework was quite the hassle! Also as a fellow single mother (to be, in my case), respect! You deserve all the credit for parenting and I hope to carry that when I raise my child.

hey everyone! it’s been a while since ive posted with this family! im skipping ahead 2 years so I believe we are due for some new introductions!

my name is Ru, im the author of a [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] Times bestselling fantasy trilogy, an editor at a publishing company in NYC, a mother of 4, and partner to an amazing human being, [name_m]Alex[/name_m]. they have been a stay-at-home parent since we adopted our first children, and have decided to return to work at an absolutely adorable little cafe/bookstore that’s around the corner from our apartment.

together, we have 4 little hell-raisers — I mean, children! our older three are adopted, and our youngest is biologically mine.

our oldest, [name_f]Ripley[/name_f] [name_f]Reign[/name_f], who turned 7 in [name_m]March[/name_m]! she will be going into second grade in the fall, at a Montessori school within walking distance of our apartment in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m]. she loves all things architecture—her dream is to build castles in Europe, like the ones we visited in [name_f]Austria[/name_f] and [name_f]Germany[/name_f] this past summer. she is also a budding gymnast and is hoping to be able to compete this year.

next is our sweet, empathetic nature boy, [name_m]Cove[/name_m] [name_m]Kasper[/name_m]. he loves animals, especially turtles and peacocks, and wants to be a vet for exotic animals or a conservationist when he grows up. he turns 6 at the end of [name_f]September[/name_f], and will be in kindergarten this year at the same school as [name_f]Ripley[/name_f]!

Keeper [name_m]Jayce[/name_m] is our fun-loving, adventurous spirit! he has the biggest smile, the most infectious laugh, and an incredible sense of humor. he loves the beach and would spend every moment of his life there, if we would let him. it’s been amazing to watch his confidence grow! he’ll be 5 in [name_f]November[/name_f], and is going to be in transitional kindergarten this fall.

lastly, our youngest, [name_m]Quest[/name_m] [name_f]Harper[/name_f]. he is the first baby I carried myself, only for him to become a total Opie’s boy! he loves snuggles, tickles, and his stuffed rabbit, [name_f]Momo[/name_f]. he has a silly streak and loves to perform for us, especially when my partner is playing their guitar. we plan to get him one of his own for his birthday, which is in [name_f]January[/name_f]. he will be 3, which is wild!

we are hopefully not done yet, though! my partner is unable to get me pregnant so we are about to begin our next ttc journey, and I can’t wait for everyone to follow along.

i had an awesome twentieth birthday! it’s strange not being a teen mum anymore, as for the last three years that’s all i’ve been. but we didn’t do anything big for my birthday, my friend recently had her birthday party and we used her balloons which they offered us. then i just spent the day by the beach with my little family. just the usual day, which is pretty darn special.

we also went on a little walk which i loved! scout was a bit wet from the sea but she still had a great time in the woods playing, and telling us this is were the fairies live. we don’t take her all the time but everytime we do she has a very good time!

i guess that’s all! i’m hoping that my next post could possibly be baby being here since i’m 38+3 weeks. scout was born at 39+1 so i’m hoping he’s here within the next week. all my fingers are crossed that their here soon!

sorry for the double post, but we have a very exiting announcement. our baby has been born! we’re all very exited that they’re finally here, and scout is already so happy about her baby sibling.

baby was born on august 2nd, at 39+2. they weighed 8lbs 2oz and 21 inches long. i was in labour for seven hours, with an hour of pushing before he was born. though originally i thought i wanted to try as minimal education as possible, though i ended up getting an epidural which i was grateful for later on!

we had decided not to share the gender, though reuben and i knew. a lot of reuben’s family thought we were having a girl, i was carrying high as you would a girl as well as was extremely nauseous throughout the entire pregnancy. my family thought we were having a little boy, i was raised by my mother and she had three daughters and a son. she thought since she had so many girls, i’d probably have a boy. she was right! because we welcomed our little boy three days ago!

we chose his name, seeing as i’ve always love the name ozzy. we tried to find a longer name which we enjoyed as much as just ozzy. we love the chilled out, happy feeling it gives us. is also massively makes us think of the beach, which we do live right by. i also love the way ozzy and scout or scout and ozzy sound together!

for middle names we’ve always preferred more classic middle names i case our children decide to go by them when they’re older. scout’s middle names are josephine claire, and we wanted something similar. my brothers name is malachi, and i’ve always loved it and been jealous. two years ago when my niece was born, they gave her ‘emilia’ as her middle name so it felt like a return of the favour. we chose jack as it’s reuben’s middle name and he wanted to carry it on!

our girl romy turned seven on the third! i can’t believe how quickly these last seven years have gone. romilly is the sweetest, bubbliest most confident girl i know and she is so loved by everyone around her. she is the best big sister to bambi and tallulah who absolutely adore her. i honestly can’t imagine life without our gorgeous girl. happy birthday romilly violet!

we got her a new surfboard for her birthday and even though it is freezing in the water at the moment, she has been out on it every single day. the local older kids that she sees when she is out surfing with her dad all call her ‘romy grommie’ which is too cute! she absolutely loves it.

we have been trying to grow more produce on our farm recently to use in our cooking! the girls have been loving helping me cook everything and they have all (bambs especially) been eating so much better!

yesterday i took the little ones down to the beach at sunset as they had both been begging me to go all day. bambi is sometimes an absolute pain to say the least, but these little moments just make everything worth it! she absolutely loves being a big sister and tallulah absolutely adores her

we took a trip over the weekend to my sister’s house which is about four hours away. we were only planning on staying three nights, but we are still here after five and leaving in the morning! roms has missed a bit of school, but nothing too bad and bambi and lula have only missed two days of kindy, which they are both loving!

my sister ally and her husband max have three little ones too! her eldest is eight and is called nora lily. nora and romy get along amazingly and she is the best big cousin! jack nicholas is their five year old, who is like bambi in a boy, except maybe slightly more controlled! their youngest is elsie june who is eighteen months old the sweetest little bub!

the kids all get along so well which is so sweet to see. the girls were all pretty good on the drive up here too! they are used to them though as we are about three hours from all of their grandparents and a lot of family and then my sister, like i said, is four hours away and my brother-in-law is eight hours from ours! romy read so many books in the car which is just amazing! we have a little bookworm on our hands! for the last half and hour she wanted to watch a show so i let her watch something on my phone!

Oh my goodness, I have to introduce my family!

Firstly, my oldest, my son [name_m]Kieran[/name_m] [name_m]Shawn[/name_m], who has just turned 12 yesterday! He recently started 6th grade! He takes after me, he’s very quiet and enjoys reading about everything history.

Secondly, my daughter [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], who’s 9 and extremely bubbly. She’s in the 3rd grade. She loves everything pink and everything spooky. She can be a handful with her messy art, but it’s all in good fun.

Third, my daughter [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f], or [name_f]Allie[/name_f], who’s 6 and just started first grade. She’s wise beyond her years and loves making new friends. She’s always so concerned with making sure everyone is happy. She loves rainbows and bugs, especially moths.

Fourth, Allie’s twin sister, [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Siobhan[/name_f], or [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is quite a bit more spunky than her twin sister! Lastly, my youngest daughter, [name_f]Judy[/name_f] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], who’s 3 and extremely vocal. She already loves trying to sing along with every song in the car. She’s such a bundle of joy!

Oh, and I couldn’t forget that I’m expecting another daughter next month. Poor [name_m]Kieran[/name_m], stuck as the only son! And our pets! We have two cats, [name_m]Rocco[/name_m] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. And, since yesterday was Kieran’s birthday, and he’s been begging for a dog…

[name_m]Kieran[/name_m] got a puppy yesterday! He didn’t want a huge party, so he had his cousin [name_f]Mysti[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] over and the two had a blast with the puppy. He’s decided to name it [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] after the dog in his favorite show, Heartstopper. DH [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] and I love seeing him so happy!

hello lovely humans!

i’m currently soaking up the last days with indie before she turns two! where did all the time go? indie’s dad has her every other weekend, so he’s going to her today. though we’ve had such a lovely week!

we went clothes shopping for her yesterday, theo (her dad) also tagged along and we had a lot of fun. she loves trying on clothes and generally had an amazing time! she was more upset that we couldn’t get every single thing she tried on, but she loved this yellow dress so we definitely bought that!

we also went to play by the lake! though she’s not quite old enough to go swimming in there, she had a great time and loved messing and playing around. i’m honestly surprised she stayed neat for so long, as the little tornado usually gets dirty within about thirty seconds of leaving the house!

we also had indie’s birthday lunch with theo’s family. theo invited me along and we all had a great time! she was so sweet and loving the entire time and i could not help it, but the sandles! indie’s grandma got them for her as an early birthday present and i could not help but put them in them. they are just so cute!

although the weather here wants us to think that summer is here to stay, we’ve been spending this week getting ready for the upcoming school year. I can’t believe that I’ll have 4 kids in school this year where did the time go?

[name_m]Quest[/name_m] and Keeper will be doing a half-day Montessori preschool, then spend the afternoon with my partner, who is going back to work part-time. [name_f]Ripley[/name_f] and [name_m]Cove[/name_m] will be at the same school but will be there all day.

everyone got to pick out their backpacks this week. Ripley’s is London-themed, with Big [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and union jacks and [name_m]Buckingham[/name_m] palace guards. we’ve actually not been to [name_m]London[/name_m] but she liked the design more than the [name_m]Paris[/name_m] one we found, so I guess we’ll have to plan a trip to [name_m]London[/name_m] soon lol. Cove’s has sea creatures all over it—fitting, I know. his first ever backpack was shaped like a turtle and we picked it out because of his name, and it’s just become tradition that every new backpack follow the theme. Keeper chose a bag with stars and planets all over it because that’s his new obsession, and he will talk the ear off of anyone who will listen about all the planets in the solar system. finally, [name_m]Quest[/name_m] picked out a bluey backpack, which was a surprise to no one as it’s his absolute favorite show (okay, it’s one of mine, too)

[name_f]Ripley[/name_f] has made a new friend within our apartment complex, a little girl named [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] who just moved in. [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] will be going to a different school in the fall but [name_f]Ripley[/name_f] has already planned when they can meet (around Ripley’s gymnastics schedule, ofc) and she’s trying to convince my partner and I to let the two of them have a sleepover.

lastly, an update to the ttc journey: we just completed our first round of clomid! well, I mean me because, as ive explained to my partner, im the one doing all the heavy lifting lol. my partner can’t get me pregnant so we’re using a sperm donor, and we’ve decided to use the same one that we used when I became pregnant with [name_m]Quest[/name_m]. so there’s a good chance we’ll add another blondie to our bunch!

(I really am amazed at how much [name_m]Quest[/name_m] looks like his siblings, despite not being genetically related to them… people are always surprised when I tell them that the older three are adopted)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Wow, this week went by fast!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] turned 13! She didn’t want a party, just a get togther with her bestie, [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f].

This is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] during their late night run to the mall

Of course I had to do a 13th birthday photo shoot!

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] have had this inside joke about sprinkle cakes, and they laugh every time they see one. So, naturally, [name_f]Clara[/name_f] had to have a sprinkle cake for her birthday!

The day after Clara’s birthday, we went on a boat trip with grandma and gramps. This pic is [name_f]Clara[/name_f] holding [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] up

This is [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Finn[/name_m] looking out during the golden hours of the day.

[name_m]Dominic[/name_m] (yes I am changing his name) wasn’t much of a sailor!

Then, the morning after the boat trip, [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Finn[/name_m] decided to make up breakfast!

@CattheBat13579 That would be amazing! He has such a hard time making new friends sometimes. He’s always been a bit of an outcast among the kids in his grade, so we’re hoping things end up better at this school.
