I was looking at Ancesty.com and FindaGrave.com (morbid, I know) tonight. I use them while searching for records on my family, and Ancestry is where I keep the family tree. I also look the on FamilySearch.org, WikiTree.com, Geni.com and Legacy.com quite often.
I did the same. I took it and [name_f]Elzira[/name_f] out of my post on What names have we missed? after I noticed it.
Ah, interesting! [name_f]My[/name_f] partner and I will also be the last ones in our friend group to have kids. Beyond my love of finding the right names for our own, I think I joined nameberry because I’m fascinated by the names my friends have picked and love imagining what names they’ll pick for potential future kids. I just pray that they don’t choose any of my names - I’m so picky! We might have to stop being friends so I can feel comfortable using the name! I prefer your way of handling it though - make up a new one!!
Names I’ve made up…
Avoranni AH-vor-AHN-nee (Avora) uh-VOR-uh
Baira BY-rah
Mauryn MAR-rin
Raydia RAY-dee-uh
Anialla (AH-nee-AHL-la)
Mahani (ma-HAN-nee)
Lindarr (LIN-dar)
Mardas (MAR-dez)
@tianagrace @andieamo say no more-- Ellaby oh my gosh!!
As far as made up names that sound too “trendy” for me, I love
Cleobelle - This started because I had the name [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] on my favorites for a while but I never loved any full name for it & Cleobelle was born.
Elizabelle - Same thing as Cleobelle. I love the name [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] but can’t find any full name I like for it.
Novalie - Heard this as [name_f]Novalee[/name_f] when a family vlog channel I watched almost named their daughter this, they went with [name_f]Alaya[/name_f] which I also love but to me sounds kind of made up.
Haisley - [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is one of my favorite names and I stumbled upon this in a thread about the name [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. I personally love it but again, sounds made up
AAAHHH LOL!
