Favorite nickname for Francesca??

I’m considering [name]Francesca[/name], but am looking for a cute nn to go with it outside of the obvious, “[name]Frankie[/name],” which hubby is not a big fan of. Any fresh ideas?

Other kids are [name]Anthony[/name], [name]Rocco[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name].

Im also open to any other Italian names (esp. saint names) that you think would sound nice with the other children.

Thanks!

[name]Francesca[/name] is very pretty you could nn her [name]Fran[/name] but the full name is so much nicer.

[name]Francesca[/name] is on our short list, but I’ve had the same hesitations as far as nicknames. I don’t like [name]Frankie[/name] or [name]Fran[/name], but do like…

Cesca (chess-kah)
Cess ([name]Chess[/name])
[name]Franca[/name] (frahn-kuh)

I knew of a little [name]Francesca[/name] who went by the nickname [name]Chessie[/name]. Very sweet.

Like the suggestion of [name]Franca[/name], so sweet and feminine.

What do you think of [name]Francie[/name]?

I [name]LOVE[/name] this name so much! I love the idea of Cheska.

I like the nickname [name]Francie[/name] but to me it belongs to [name]Francine[/name], especially since [name]Francie[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name] have two different ‘c’ sounds. I knew a [name]Francesco[/name] who went by Cess ([name]Chess[/name]) and I thought it was nice.

I love the name [name]Francesca[/name]! My favorite nicknames are [name]Francie[/name], [name]Frannie[/name], and Cesca.

Similar names:

I love [name]Francesca[/name] and really like both [name]Fannie[/name] and Cesca as nn.

Also wanted to throw out the name [name]Gemma[/name] because it’s Italian and a [name]Saint[/name]'s name.

Cesca has always been my favorite.

Aside from [name]Frankie[/name], I love [name]Frannie[/name] and [name]Francie[/name].

Good luck!

Cesca (chess-kah) and Frenchie are my favourites after [name]Frankie[/name]. [name]Love[/name] your other kids name too by the way:)

Some saints names:

Good [name]Luck[/name]!

I also knew someone in college named [name]Chessie[/name] (not short for anything, that was just her name). I think that’s a great name! [name]Francesca[/name] is beautiful though, so if you go with that I’m sure your little girl will tell you what her nn should be (with her look, demeanor, personality, etc, not actually verbally!).

What about Cessa (pn: Chessa)?

Chicca (key-ca) is my favourite. Cesca is also cute.

Other ideas (sorry for any duplicates):

[name]Alessia[/name], [name]Elena[/name], [name]Julianna[/name], [name]Annalisa[/name], [name]Marta[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Giorgia[/name], [name]Arianna[/name], [name]Gaia[/name], [name]Gianna[/name], [name]Sofia[/name], [name]Ginevra[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name], [name]Amalia[/name], [name]Alana[/name], [name]Camilla[/name], [name]Eleonora[/name], [name]Milena[/name], [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Bianca[/name], [name]Chiara[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Simona[/name].

I’m even thinking about using a shorter, plainer middle name and incorporating that into her nickname. For example, [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Belle[/name]= [name]Francie[/name]-[name]Belle[/name]. Others we like are [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Claire[/name] ([name]Francie[/name]-[name]Claire[/name]), [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Mae[/name] ([name]Francie[/name]-[name]Mae[/name], although we’re steering away from this because it sounds too close to [name]Fannie[/name] [name]Mae[/name], lol), and [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Jane[/name] ([name]Francie[/name]-[name]Jane[/name]).

My best friend’s 1.5 year old is named [name]Francesca[/name], and we call her “[name]Effie[/name]” for short or sometimes “Miss F” - it works very well  Nobody (so far) has tried to call her [name]Frankie[/name] or [name]Fran[/name].

[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Belle[/name]: I love this, although you already have an [name]Isabella[/name].
[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Claire[/name]: I love both names, but I think that [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is kind of K-heavy in sound.
[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Mae[/name]: I love it, but like you said, there’s [name]Fannie[/name] [name]Mae[/name]…
[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Jane[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] this!

I’m voting for [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Jane[/name].

Good luck!

[name]Anthony[/name], [name]Rocco[/name], [name]Isabella[/name], and…:

[name]Emilia[/name] (Italian, and close to [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name])

[name]Non[/name]-Italian names that I can see with [name]Anthony[/name], [name]Rocco[/name], And [name]Isabella[/name]:

[name]Audriana[/name] (and you could call her [name]Audrey[/name])
[name]Mila[/name] (not sure of its origins)
[name]Olivia[/name] (seriously popular, though)

Good luck!
