General thoughts on the name Eden?

Would be for a girl. We have loved this name since we saw it. What do you think?
Thanks! Much appreciated!

I absolutely love the name [name]Eden[/name]. I think it’s dramatic but somehow still delicate and approachable. Gorgeous choice. Have you thought of any middle names?

I love the name [name]Eden[/name]! I think its gorgeous. And [name]Edie[/name] is a cute nickname (if you should want a nickname). What are you thinking for a middle?

Thanks!! We are thinking either [name]Elisabeth[/name] (some family meaning)
or [name]Olivia[/name]. Have done a poll on the girl’s board
and it’s always split. What do you think? Any
other suggestions. One syllable last name, starting
with P. Thanks again!

I love the name [name]Eden[/name] but the meaning “Place of Pleasure” put me off.

[name]Love[/name] it!!!

I love the sound and look of it. It is really short, but very pretty, which is great. The only possible reservation I would have: I would assume the family was religious (which is fine, but I just thought I’d tell you my assumption).

@Abbycd-I appreciate that. We had thought about that as well…like the name enough to go passed it. Appreciate the thought/honesty!

Any thoughts on [name]Elisabeth[/name] vs [name]Olivia[/name] for MN? My husband goes by his middle name, so we want a good mn that could someday be a first, if needed!

[name]Eden[/name] is rather trendy, as is [name]Olivia[/name], so I’d go with the more classic [name]Elisabeth[/name].

I seem to be the sole dissenter, but I don’t really care for [name]Eden[/name]. It reminds me quite a bit of [name]Nevaeh[/name] (neither were used as names until very recently, both have experienced massive leaps in popularity over the past few years, the meaning is essentially the same) but it gets tons of love while [name]Nevaeh[/name] may be the most hated name on the planet, which I don’t really understand. I do quite like [name]Edie[/name], though, and if you love it, that’s what’s important!

Thanks for opinion. Yeah, I don’t really see [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Neveah[/name] in the same category at all. [name]Don[/name]'t like the latter a bit and see [name]Eden[/name] as an actual name and one that is actually quite timeless. But again, appreciate the opinion and help on middle. I think we’ll go with [name]Elisabeth[/name], especially given family significance.

I [name]Love[/name] [name]Eden[/name]!!! ive known girls and boys to be named that but i prefer it as a girls name.

[name]Love[/name] love [name]Eden[/name] (and not even close to the same category as [name]Neveah[/name] as I see it!). [name]Eden[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] and [name]Eden[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] are both beautiful choices. [name]Eden[/name] isn’t trendy either (it has gained popularity though but I wouldn’t categorize it as a ‘trendy name’ although [name]Aiden[/name] was/is)

[name]Eden[/name] is one of my husband’s middle names, so that really colors my association. He’s 30 years old and was born in the Caribbean. I have no idea if the name was popular for either boys or girls at that time and region. Weirdly, my secondary association of this name is actress [name]Barbara[/name] [name]Eden[/name], so I always find myself thinking about “I [name]Dream[/name] of [name]Jeannie[/name]” when I hear the name!

If I used [name]Eden[/name] I would like to have an ancient biblical name for a middle. So, I thought of [name]Abraham[/name]'s wife [name]Sarai[/name]. I would choose this combo as it has a sense of ancient biblical history and [name]Sarai[/name] gives a more exotic feel to the combo.

If you like the idea of connecting [name]Sarah[/name] the wife of [name]Abraham[/name] to [name]Eden[/name] then [name]Eden[/name] [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] would make a lovely combo.

I absolutely love love love the name [name]Eden[/name], it’s at the top of my list for my future daughter. It’s not at all a common name where I live ([name]Holland[/name]) which is part of the charm for me as well. However, my SO is not convinced, to him it’s more a word than a name… I see much discussion in our future!

Perhaps, if you’re concerned about the popularity of [name]Eden[/name], you could consider [name]Elin[/name]? Or [name]Enora[/name]?

I absolutely love the nickname [name]Edie[/name], but in all honesty I’m not overly keen on [name]Eden[/name] due to past experience with an awful, bratty little girl. Having said that, [name]Eden[/name] WAS on my list in the past. Also, I certainly don’t agree that it fits into the same category as [name]Neveah[/name], nor would I expect it to be used on a religious child (again, due to the same experience).

I do love [name]Eden[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] though! It’s lovely! (As long as you’re surname doesn’t start with L. No one wants the initials EEL  )

I [name]Love[/name] [name]Eden[/name]! It’s been on my super short list for both daughters. The place of pleasure thing threw me off for a while too, but I think I could get past it myself. [name]Eden[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] and [name]Eden[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] are both lovely choices. [name]Just[/name] depends on your last name and if you are put off by the uber popularity of [name]Olivia[/name] right now. Less of an issue for a middle though. Good luck!

I don’t want to beat a dead horse, just wanted to offer this for consideration:

no offense intended!
