Gone With the Wind - boys edition

I just finished reading Gone With the Wind, and as I read, I made a list of every name in the book. What do you think of them?

[name]Brent[/name] - this one could grow on me
[name]Tom[/name] - of course [name]Thomas[/name] and nickname [name]Tom[/name] are classics
[name]Boyd[/name] - I didn’t like this at first but it also grew on me
[name]Ashley[/name] - gone to the girls but not a bad boy’s name
[name]Charles[/name] - another classic
Raiford - don’t like this one at all
[name]John[/name] - once again, classic
[name]Angus[/name] - just think of beef
[name]Evan[/name] - never thought of this as an old-fashioned name, but it’s nice
[name]William[/name] - classic
[name]James[/name] - classic
[name]Andrew[/name] - classic
[name]Jack[/name] - great nickname
[name]Sam[/name] - also love this nickname for a boy

[name]Dallas[/name] - I think I like this one
[name]Levi[/name] - love this name!
[name]Darcy[/name] - definitely an 70’s girl name

[name]Beau[/name] - love this name! (also full name [name]Beauregard[/name]

I love Gone With the Wind. Here’s the ones I like:

[name]Brent[/name] – I know a [name]Brent[/name]
[name]LaFayette[/name] – [name]Love[/name] this name <3

I love Gone With the Wind. I knew Gone With the Wind before I started kindergarten, so naturally was confused when half of my female classmates were named [name]Ashley[/name]. I’ve always thought it was a shame [name]Ashley[/name] got so popular for girls. [name]Lafayette[/name] and [name]Beauregard[/name] are guilty pleasures for me.

here’s the girls…

[name]Tom[/name] - An underused boy’s name.
[name]John[/name] - Such a great classic.
[name]Hugh[/name] - I prefer this over [name]Hugo[/name].
[name]Toby[/name] - A great nickname for [name]Tobias[/name].
[name]William[/name] - Another classic name. If I loved it more, I’d use it in a heartbeat.
[name]James[/name] - Ditto
[name]Andrew[/name] - Another classic.
[name]Phillip[/name] - [name]Philip[/name] is like [name]Thomas[/name]; an unexpected choice.
[name]Jonas[/name] - This used to be a favorite of mine until it was ruined by an estranged family member.
[name]Jack[/name] - If this wasn’t so popular, it’d be higher on my list, as it honors my mom.
[name]Sam[/name] - This is growing on me.
[name]Joseph[/name] - I much prefer [name]Josephine[/name].
[name]Alex[/name] - A bit too popular for my liking but I don’t mind.
[name]Henry[/name] - [name]Henry[/name] is a favorite of mine as a middle name.
[name]Levi[/name] - A great Southern name.
[name]Darcy[/name] - A great unisex name.
[name]Nathan[/name] - I prefer [name]Nathaniel[/name], but [name]Nathan[/name] isn’t bad.
[name]Beau[/name] - Like [name]Levi[/name], it makes a great option for an Southern boy. I prefer it in the middle.

I love Gone with the Wind! Here are some of my favorites:

Would anyone actually use [name]Rhett[/name]?

My hubby and I have decided on [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Langston[/name] if our first baby is a boy. We don’t know any other African American babies with that name, and its classic southern which is our style.

I’ve known two Rhetts in my life and I adore the name! Never had the brass to actually use it, but I do love it. lol

[name]Love[/name], love, love GWTW! Great inspiration.

That is a beautiful name, [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Langston[/name]! I love it!
