I think it works on it’s own. Have you considered [name_f]Gwenna[/name_f]? It’s one of my favorites!

Totally fine!! I think I prefer it on its own

I personally prefer [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], but it definitely works on its own.

It definitely works on its own, and I love it! It’s gentle and traditional on the one hand, but a little bit rock’n’roll on the other. Such a sweet, sassy, solid little name!

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is definitely fine as a full name! I’ve actually known more girls named just [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], than [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] as a nickname. (I’ve only met a few in my entire life, it’s not popular by any means - hope my post doesn’t make you start worrying about that!)

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is so spunky and so sweet at the same time. And hits that great sweet spot of familiar enough that most everyone can spell and pronounce it, but also distinctive and uncommon!

I love [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] as a standalone! Gorgeous.

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] rocks as a given name!! It’s okay for a name to be one syllable, Nameberry!!!

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is great on its own. And I agree with the pps’ comments about it.

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is fantastic! While I do love [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] on its own.

I prefer it as a nickname, but I think it works on its own.

You could use [name_f]Gwenna[/name_f], as someone else suggested, or [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]/[name_f]Gwenith[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] works on it’s own. I think it would go great with a longer middle name.

My mother is [name_f]Gwendolene[/name_f], but has gone by [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] all her life. Her nickname was [name_f]Gwennie[/name_f] (She is now in the last stages of dementia, so while her body is alive, my Mum mentally is not with us).

For many personal reasons I have never liked any version of her name. However ther is one version I do like, that is [name_f]Gwenda[/name_f]. Not [name_f]Gwendolene[/name_f] (including any spelling variations, ) but not [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. However, you pick the version you like.

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] totally works on its own, it’s such a gorgeous, sassy name!

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] makes for a great standalone name in my opinion – classy, with a touch of spunk.

Personally, I think Gwen is great, but you could always use a different version of Gwen if you want to:
Gwenyth/ Gwenith
Gwenna
Gwenda
Etc.

Or just use Gwen

As someone who typically doesn’t like nicknames as full names, [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] works perfectly fine. I would assume someone introduced as [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] was simply a [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. That said, I do prefer the longer names, as I don’t find [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] that appealing, but there’s nothing wrong with it.

[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] definitely works on it own.

I love it as a nickname, sadly SO hates it and all longer forms because of a [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] who had a falling out with his family :frowning: I do think it can stand alone though. [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] [name_f]Stefani[/name_f] is just [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] I believe.

Fun fact: [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is not just a nickname, but has existed as a full name in its own right in various forms since [name_m]Roman[/name_m] times, and probably longer, whereas most long forms of the name only date to the Middle Ages. Definitely usable as a full name.

I absolutely adore [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] - she’s probably in my top two girls’ names!
