I have fallen in love with the name [name_u]EVER[/name_u]-[name_u]LEE[/name_u], however I don’t know how to spell it. I picked [name_u]Everly[/name_u] at first but I don’t really like the ending, then I went with Everleigh but it seemed trashy to me. Can anyone help with this pickle I’m in? I also debated with [name_u]Ever[/name_u]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] but now I don’t know.
I really want to add this name to my list but I can’t settle on a spelling for it. Options I can think of:
I like the spellings Everleigh and [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. I think either of those would be fine. I don’t really like hyphenated names and it sounds like you don’t really want [name_f]Evalea[/name_f] or Evalie because they’re not [name_u]Everly[/name_u]…
I like the [name_u]Everly[/name_u] spelling. I’m probably in the minority by saying I think the Everleigh spelling is the prettiest. It just looks fuller to me and classier. I usually don’t like spelling deviation but I like this one.
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] is sort of a GP of mine, and I think I would like it better if I found a spelling that I love - I don’t tend to like “made up” spellings, but I can’t love [name_u]Everly[/name_u] either for some reason. I think spelling it [name_f]Eva[/name_f]- would definitely cause prounciation problems, and I don’t like hyphenated names, so after all this time, I’m still stuck with preferring the [name_u]Everly[/name_u] spelling.
Personally I would just choose [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. I also like Everleigh and I really don’t think that it is trashy. But if you don’t want to use those then I would probably go for Everlie. I don’t think hyphenating the name is a good idea.
I like [name_u]Everly[/name_u], I think it’s very sweet. I also like Everlie, but not as much as with the “y”. It could be mispronounced, as with some of the other spellings. I do not like any of the hyphenated versions, please AVOID; they have a kind of trashy look and sound to them, like [name_u]Jo[/name_u]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_u]Ash[/name_u]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is such a cute, charming name, [name_u]Ever[/name_u]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] and the sort really ruin it for me. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
I have several relatives who have the middle name [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]. I really [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] that spelling and don’t see why it would look “trashy.” I vote for Everleigh (Everlie or Everlee are ok, too) … [name_u]Everly[/name_u] (in honor of he [name_u]Everly[/name_u] Brothers…showing my age…LOL)
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]. I do like Everleigh and even debated on putting that on my list. But I found [name_u]Everly[/name_u]/Everleigh to be too trendy and not classic enough for me. I still think it is a pretty name.
However, I don’t think pronunciation will be an issue. I think most people will pronounce it [name_u]EVER[/name_u]-[name_u]LEE[/name_u], not EE-VA-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]. I can’t imagine anyone misspelling this name. It is clearly in relation to the word [name_u]Ever[/name_u].
Note: I don’t mind the -leigh on the end. Maybe I’m biased because my middle name is [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]. I also grew up with lots of Ashleighs, so I don’t find it to be trashy. I think Everleigh is acceptable and I think it fills the name out a bit. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] kind of looks incomplete to me.
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]. It’s the most accepted spelling (and rising by the minute).
[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] by itself isn’t trashy, I think most people consider it trashy when it’s tacked onto the end of a -ly name that makes it trashy.
