Help me choose a name!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries,
We just found out we are expecting a baby girl :-). Which of these names do you like to go with brother, [name_u]Rex[/name_u].

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Aveline[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Caia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]

If anyone has any other suggestions they would be gratefully received!
Thanks
[name_f]Jetta[/name_f]

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] would get my vote for sure! I would use this name in a heart beat but my hubby isn’t a fan.

My favorite is [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. i am not a fan of [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] as it makes me think of “big load” or “lard.” [name_f]Caia[/name_f] strikes me as a name that would need much correcting regarding pronunciation. The rest of your choices are lovely.

I like [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] best. It’s on my list for my baby girl currently. Along with [name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] like the prefix “[name_f]Coral[/name_f]” ;).

I think I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] best. It’s such a spunky name that is so rarely heard.

I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] best with [name_u]Rex[/name_u], they are both spunky, fun and “badass” with musical connections. However, I like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] more than [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] because it doesn’t have the unfortunate associations. So, I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] for you, but I’d never use it myself.

I’d like to piggyback off the other poster who mentioned [name_f]Coral[/name_f]. I think it a better fit fro [name_u]Rex[/name_u] than [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and it is rarely used. If you are not a fano f teh obvious word-name… than the simpler [name_f]Cora[/name_f] also would sound lovely with [name_u]Rex[/name_u].

Of yoru list, I like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] best, but would liek to offer some suggestions with [name_u]Rex[/name_u] that you may like:

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Delle[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Honna[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] and [name_f]Holly[/name_f]

hope that helps!

I would choose [name_f]Caia[/name_f] from your list. Other suggestions:

[name_f]Dixie[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] (Cosi or [name_f]Ettie[/name_f])
[name_f]Delta[/name_f]
[name_f]Shayna[/name_f]

I prefer [name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is beautiful, romantic, feminine, and underused. I think something about girl names that start w/ “D” give them a little tomboy or “spunky” feel that others mention and this is what I feel makes it a good match for [name_u]Rex[/name_u]. Both names are classic and refined yet all American and kind of rough and tumble.
Not sure if that makes sense.

I also like:
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_u]Domenique[/name_u]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Clio[/name_f] / [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Sidra[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Gioia[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] & [name_f]Maple[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] with [name_u]Rex[/name_u].

With [name_u]Rex[/name_u] I like:

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Caia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]

[name_f]Coralie[/name_f] is beautiful.

I like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] the best!

My favorite is [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]. My second choice would be [name_f]Aveline[/name_f].

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I love [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] but now I’m worried about using it due to negative associations e.g. Betrayer. Is that too much of a burden for a little girl? I like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] a lot too but I just now found out it is pronounced “day-lee-ah” (not dar-lee-ah) which is very similar to a close family members name. Oh dear, not sure what to do now.
I actually really liked [name_f]Celia[/name_f] so it was interesting that just one person preferred that one.
Thanks again

I like a lot of your names!

For what it is worth, I pronounce [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] as DAH-lee-uh with the first syllable sounding like “doll”. But that my be an accent thing.

I also like [name_f]Celia[/name_f].

Others:
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Mariel[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]

Best of luck!

I like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Caia[/name_f] from your list with [name_u]Rex[/name_u].

I also say [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] as DAH-lee-yuh. [name_m]Per[/name_m] the NB definition, it is pronounced [name_u]DaY[/name_u]-lee-a in the UK.
So if you are stateside, I think most people will read it as Dah-lee-a.

I agree, or even dahl-ya

I’d love to meet a little [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
