I’m very new to Nameberry. My sister-in-law recommended this site to me when I mentioned that my husband and I were having trouble with names for our daughters. Hopefully you guys can help us!
I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant with twin girls and have an almost two-year-old daughter named [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. We have quite a few names that we like, but can’t decide on any combinations.
So far, our options are:
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
We also like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] together, but don’t have another name to go with that combination.
I would really love to use [name_f]Frances[/name_f] since it’s a family name and probably my favorite, but I don’t know if [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] or [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] sound that good together. If anyone has other suggestions for a name to go with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f], that would be great! I also think that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] sound great together, but is [name_f]Eva[/name_f] too popular? We’d prefer to keep it at one or two syllables because our last name is three.
I’d love to hear your suggestions for names for [name_f]Rose[/name_f]'s twin sisters or comments on the combinations we have now!
I actually really love [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] together. However I’m not sure if the two are too matchy with the repeating sound in the front. I think they both have distinct enough sounds and complement each other nicely. My second choice would be [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. All your names sound great with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
Well I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and think it is perfectly matched in style and feel as [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is kinda sweet together. Normally I don’t suggest alliterative sounds when naming twins, but if those are your favorites - they do work nicely with each other.
My personal favorites are [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but I’m all for a family name, so I think you should definitely use [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are great together! They both have that vintage quality I love. If you love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] make a cute pair. I think my vote goes for [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], & [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
I love any combination of [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. They go wel together and with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. You have lovely picks.
My favorite of your combos is [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]! [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is such a great name.
But I also really like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] (my favorite)?
Or [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and [name_f]Elena[/name_f]?
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]?
From your current options I like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
I really like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]…not sure if you are into nn though)
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] gets my vote. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]! [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] are different enough for twins but do sound great together.
You have lovely taste in names! I think you should definitely use [name_f]Frances[/name_f], it’s your favorite, it goes well with [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and the family ties are a huge bonus.
So the real task is finding that other twin name. You seem to favor having the same amount of syllables for your twins, which I think is a smart choice in making them sound good together without being too matchy!
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is nice, but I like [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] even better! [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] throws off the same sweet vintage vibe as [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and isn’t as trendy as [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would both make good middles. Some other ideas are:
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] (may be too close, but if you like to use nicknames, I think [name_f]Franny[/name_f] and [name_f]Flo[/name_f] are darling together!)
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (similar to [name_f]Eva[/name_f] with that great v sound)
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] & [name_f]Eva[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is a gorgeous classic name and I love the nickname [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is also a lovely choice but I dislike [name_f]Frances[/name_f] & [name_f]Eva[/name_f] together. I think [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is too formal for [name_f]Eva[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Eva[/name_f] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] make a perfect twin set. Both names are spunky and have a lot of vibrancy to them. I also think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds really pretty with [name_f]Eva[/name_f] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f].
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] ~ [name_m]Even[/name_m] though both [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Frances[/name_f] are vintage choices I feel that stylistically the names do not work together well. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] feels to spunky teamed with [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Jane[/name_f] ~ Stylistically these two names work really well together. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a really pretty name and sounds so sweet with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is also gorgeous a really pretty name that again works well with [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] are great names for twins.
Moving onto your beloved [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. For twins I think [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Frances[/name_f] work brilliantly well together and sound great with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. As [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] & [name_f]Frances[/name_f] are your favourites I would use them : )
[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are a gorgeous sibset! You could use [name_f]Frances[/name_f] as a middle name, [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] sounds beautiful to me.
I love [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] together (I know these are longer than the names you want and that you won’t use these.) I want girl twins (when I’m older) to name this, with nicknames [name_f]Nia[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f]!
Anyway, I love your name choices, and as said above, [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are great together. (I don’t think popularity is a problem.) Good luck choosing!
A lot of you have suggested [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] together, which I think sounds great, but we would prefer not to have names with the same beginning sound.
