Well, we are pregnant again and expecting another team green baby in the spring! And surprise, surprise, we are indecisive once again with names haha.
Here are our top seven girl’s names (in no particular order). Which one is your favourite? What vibe does each name give off? Which one goes best with big brother Leo?
If it helps, our last name starts with H and is similar to “Harrison”.
I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is my top pick. I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. It feels warm and sweet and easy to understand and spell, yet not one I hear every time we’re at the park.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] might be my second favorite? Close with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f], though. I think I slightly prefer [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] over [name_f]Anna[/name_f], personally, but that’s just my style. [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] look very cohesive with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] to me.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I am not wild about [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] “Charlie”. I ADORE the name [name_m]Charlie[/name_m] on a boy, but it’s one of the few “boy name on a girl nicknames” that I just am not big on. I think it’s because I know at least a handful of little girls who go by [name_m]Charlie[/name_m], so it’s sort of zapped the sparkle from it for me. If I didn’t have so many associations with it I would probably feel differently. I LOVE [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], though.
I absolutely love [name_f]Ella[/name_f] & [name_f]Anna[/name_f] from this list – they both have the friendly feel of [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I also like [name_f]Claire[/name_f]!
Overall, I would say [name_f]Stevie[/name_f] would bring an edgier feel to the sibset, while [name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] would add a little more of an elegant, [name_m]Euro[/name_m] chic twist.
Congratulations!
I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] and Claire/Clare
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is nice but seems a bit similar? Le-o and El-o-eeze
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], they sound so sweet and bright together! (Leo and Claire/Clare is also great!)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ‘Charlie’ is very cool and cute!! While I still prefer [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] being ‘Charlie’ is very cool with [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with any of your choices
[name_f]Love[/name_f] your son’s name!
All the names on your list are fantastic, It’s impossible for you to go wrong! However, if I had to rank them from my least favourite to favourite, it would be…
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but it doesn’t particularly stand out to me. It’s also pronounced very differently across English-speaking countries (I’m assuming you live in one) which could potentially cause confusion.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - I think I prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to [name_f]Clara[/name_f] by a smidge. I find it a bit more interesting and… flowy, I guess. If that makes any sense! However, I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] potentially goes better with [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ‘Charlie’ - From here on a strongly like all these names! I think I prefer [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] as a nickname to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], out of personal preference, but I think [name_m]Charlie[/name_m] goes better with [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is so sunny and welcoming, I do really like it.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] the prettiest, softest name that could suit anyone! Great with [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] - Eternally beloved for a reason! [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is fantastic - a perfect mix of strength, cuteness (not that you can’t be strong and cute at the same time!) and overall beauty. Also lovely with [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] sounding - just rolls of the tongue. You could potentially use [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] (?) which is a bonus. Completely gorgeous.
[name_f]Stevie[/name_f] - [name_f]Stevie[/name_f] is just the coolest name ever. Full stop. I wouldn’t usually think to pair it with a name like [name_m]Leo[/name_m], but I think, as both names are just super duper cool, I think they just go great. I can’t gush about [name_f]Stevie[/name_f] enough, it’s just stunning.
I hope these (mainly opinion-based) comments were somewhat helpful!
Congratulations! [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is so handsome, and these names are all lovely! I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] are my favorites with [name_m]Leo[/name_m], but they all do work very well! [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is my favorite in general, but I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is getting my vote - [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are so sweet together! I prefer [name_f]Lola[/name_f] or [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] as a nn to [name_m]Charlie[/name_m], but [name_m]Charlie[/name_m] does work really well with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as well!
I kind of agree with you that [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] sound a bit similar - and now I notice that the first three letters are the same, just rearranged. There was something holding me back from [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and I think that might be it!
Your point about [name_f]Clara[/name_f] being pronounced differently is probably my biggest hang-up about it. I love the way it sounds pronounced CLAIR-AH but I know in some parts of the world it’s pronounced CLAR-AH and I don’t love it said that way. I am in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] so I’m hoping if we go with it that the CLAIR-AH pronunciation will be the default …
I’m so happy you have such an appreciation for Stevie!! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I do really love this one, and it would be an honour name for my Dad. We’ve had mixed reactions from the few people we’ve shared it with. I think it’s probably just one of those names that people either think is really cool or on the flip side, a little out there for a girl. I’m not sure if we’re confident enough to use it but we do keep coming back to it so there’s something special there.
I like Le0 and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].
Second choice, [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. Pronounced CLAIRE ah. I like that it makes a darling name combination AND she could use the nickname [name_f]Cece[/name_f].
