We just welcomed our 3rd sweet pea into the world, and are struggling with boy names! We didn’t know what we were having, but we’re really convinced baby was going to be a girl …surprise!
Anyways, siblings are [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. If this baby was a girl, our favorite name was [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. We really want something that goes with our kiddos names, but is also nature, natural, outdoorsy in style.
We are also looking for a B or W in there, for my father who passed away a few years ago. He was [name_m]William[/name_m], but always went by [name_m]Bill[/name_m].
Last but not least, last name makes it all tricky. It’s a 2 syllable, that starts with a long I. Like in ice.

[name_m]Bear[/name_m]-I like this as a mn. I think that it’s a little hard to take serious as a fn.
[name_m]Reef[/name_m]-Ooh, that’s kind of cool. Very unique yet simple & goes well w/[name_f]Clara[/name_f] & [name_m]Graham[/name_m].
[name_u]Birch[/name_u]-This is okay, but doesn’t sound as nice. Kind of harsh to my ears.
[name_u]Cedar[/name_u]-This is cute. I don’t like it as much as [name_m]Reef[/name_m], but it’s different & has nice imagery.
[name_u]River[/name_u]-I love this one. It’s a little more well known as a name than the others, which isn’t really good or bad. I just think it’s really handsome.
[name_u]Ash[/name_u] ( but not [name_u]Asher[/name_u])-I like this as a nn for [name_u]Asher[/name_u] a lot, but it just seems so short on its own.
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u]-I like [name_m]Reef[/name_m] [name_u]Barrett[/name_u].

[name_u]River[/name_u] I love, but we aren’t sure it feels like it fits this little man. We can’t do [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] for a few reasons, and we know too many Rowans.
We have thought on [name_u]Oak[/name_u], but with the last name, it’s a bit off.
We do keep on going back to [name_m]Reef[/name_m] [name_u]Barrett[/name_u]. Today, that is our favorite. I guess my only concern is him being called “reefer” at some point. Definitely don’t like that association!
Oh, and I do like [name_u]Marsh[/name_u]! [name_f]My[/name_f] other two kiddos called this baby Marshmallow Fluff through my entire pregnancy. Working that in could be fun, but not sure how…

Since you’re open to [name_u]Marsh[/name_u] my suggestion is as other have said using [name_m]Marshal[/name_m] and then go by the nn [name_u]Marsh[/name_u].

With baby boy already being here I’d kind of stick with those two middles as you brainstorm first name possibilities.
Although honestly in my experience sometimes the fear of a potential nn could be unfounded so… if [name_m]Reef[/name_m] [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] Is what you both keep going back to I’d just go with it!
I love the suggestion of [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]. From your list, I think would personally use [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] as the first name. I get the feeling you would really like a “word” name included, and I wonder if chanting [name_m]Weston[/name_m] to [name_u]West[/name_u] would work?
