First of all, I’m new to Nameberry, and I just have to say this “writer’s corner” thing in the bomb.
Okay, so my story is a sort of futuristic, post-revolutionary [name_u]America[/name_u] (think more Divergent than The Maze runner). Anyways, I cant seem to decide on a name for my heroine. I love what [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_m]Roth[/name_m] did, naming her character [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], but calling her [name_u]Tris[/name_u]. So longer names with nicknames, or short names. Something original, but not unheard of. The heroine is sort of nerdy at first, but learns to defend herself and fight throughout the book. She is 16.
The hero is a seasoned fighter with the organization they are a part of. He is stoic and strong. I was thinking [name_m]Miles[/name_m], but it seems to young. I also like [name_m]Bennet[/name_m], but call him [name_m]Ben[/name_m], but it just doesnt fit (too preppy I suppose). He is 18.

It’s one of the stickies on the writer’s forum main page ^^ It’s the “how to get the best help” one. The forms outline the kinds of information that are helpful to determine how your character might be named! Posts with the recommended info are usually easiest for people to reply to.
