but forever ruined to some users here by troll from 10 years ago who gone by username [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f].

I think she’s very pretty, and delightful with a [name_m]French[/name_m] surname.

[name_f]She[/name_f] is a current favourite in ‘Telegraph’ circles having taken over from [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] as the upper middle class girl name of choice. But not overly popular in general.

I taught a little [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] and there were never any practical issues with her name. I never heard of any of the other teachers/other parents/administrators mishearing it or struggling to spell it or saying anything negative. [name_f]She[/name_f] was an incredibly sweet, energetic little girl and a very loving big sister.

Personally, I love [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]. I think it’s really sweet and unique. It’s cute, but not childish. And it’s similar to [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], but also stands on its own. I think it’s a great choice.

I think [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is lovely very elegant with a Parisian flair she feels very sophisticated and stylish. Definitely a number one choice of [name_m]Daily[/name_m] Telegraph readers she has that overall flair. I like her a lot especially with the nickname [name_f]Tillie[/name_f].

I quite like it but much prefer [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f], which feels a bit stronger and more elegant. Where I am (central [name_m]England[/name_m]) I have met an awful lot of little Ottilies over the past 5 years or so.

I genuinely love it, heavily considering it myself if I am blessed with another daughter, I think it’s even better with a [name_m]French[/name_m] ln, since it is french/german. [name_f]She[/name_f] gives me such soft but still playful vibes, and is also quite posh which is cute. I’m a fan of the meaning prosperous in battle as well I think that’s a good value for any little girl to have in life :white_heart:

I think [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is a beautiful choice!

[name_f]Tilly[/name_f] has been a favorite of mine since I was a child- love [name_m]Tilden[/name_m], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] & Ottilie!! I think [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is lovely, though in some accents it sounds like “oddly” which does put some off.

Honestly, I’ve never really had her on my radar, but recently [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] has been growing on my, so I see the appeal! [name_f]She[/name_f] has a adorable, endearing sound, and feels very bubbly, yet sleek. I’ve never met an [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], and if I did I would be pleasantly surprised! I think I slightly prefer [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f], but [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is truly lovely as well.

[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is very nice - it’s charming and vintage. I really like the nickname of [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] for it as well!

I quite like it in the way it blends styles – trendy but quirky, contemporary but old-fashioned, strong but frilly. [name_m]The[/name_m] nickname options are versatile too – [name_f]Tillie[/name_f] and Tils as you say, but also [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], [name_f]Ottie[/name_f], [name_f]Dottie[/name_f], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Ollie[/name_m], [name_f]Otter[/name_f], Lolly…

I think it’s a bright, distinctive, and pretty name with lots of nickname potential. I wouldn’t choose it here in Australia as so many would make it less pretty with the slip into a D sound for the T - and “oddily” isn’t ideal. It’s a bit of work to say! It wouldn’t happen nearly as much with Ottoline (or Otto for a boy) but for some reason more with Ottilie. I prefer Ottoline myself - it’s equally charming and more sophisticated to me.

We might be some of the few ones who remember that :sob::sob:. For years, Ottilie was ruined for me by her, she did a lot of emotional damage to the berries on this forum back then, but I’ve slowly been stepping past that. Ottilie is a beautiful name, and has started feeling dainty and delightfully German and French? I love the nns Lottie and Tilly for her. I would love to meet an Ottilie! Paired with a French last name is even dreamier :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

A lot of folks like it and would use it - and I am ok with that

But not a favorite of mine, but I have to admit

that there aren’t many “O “ names that are on my list - but I am just one person
