Small correction ā†’ Honoring historical figures > Honoring family.

This is also becasuse everyone in my family seems to hate their names with passion, especially older gen like both my grandmas. Iā€™m glad that Iā€™m meh about mine.

[name_m]Ned[/name_m] is my dogā€™s name! My parents would have used it for my youngest sibling but she turned out to be a girl so youā€™re 100% correct, itā€™s great for either haha

[name_f]My[/name_f] hot take: I donā€™t think itā€™s weird to name your kid a name that youā€™ve already given to a pet. Canā€™t we honor pets too? Is it that confusing? Idk, I just donā€™t see why itā€™s a sin to name your kid after your pet.

Listening to Casefile podcast and the European pronounciation of [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] (uh-liss-EE-uh) is so much nicer than the Australian/American (uh_LEESH-uh) pronounciation. Why have we done this to ourselves???

Thatā€™s why Iā€™m glad thereā€™s [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]!

Iā€™m american and I say Alicia like uh-liss-EE-uh! Iā€™ve never heard it pronounced like uh-LEESH-uh

[name_f]My[/name_f] cousinā€™s an Uh-leesh-uh, I Iā€™ve also hear Uh-lee-see-uh and Uh-liss-ee-uh.

I know an [name_f]Allicia[/name_f], pronounced uh-LEESH-a. But I also know an [name_f]Elicia[/name_f] pronounced uh-LEES-ee-a

I like both but I instinctively say it uh-LEE-see-ah, Iā€™ve never actually heard the uh-liss-ee-uh pronunciation

[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] on a boy > [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] on a girl
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] on a boy > [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] on a girl

Yes! I used to be so against Bellamy for a boy, but a few months ago, I started to really love it on boys!

Iā€™m which language? Iā€™ve only ever heard it with the emphasis on the LEE (a-LEE-cee-a), which is why Iā€™m asking.

Thatā€™s interesting! Maybe itā€™s regional? Iā€™ve just never heard any of the famous American ones (Keys, Silverstoneā€¦) pronounced that way.

Yes! My brotherā€™s dog is named Fyodor (sometimes called Fyodog) and thatā€™s just wonderful. Heā€™s also had a dog called Floris.
