Oh my gosh, that is PERFECT.
Thatâs amazing haha!!
Isnât it? This actually came about because one of my brotherâs neighbors asked what the name of his puppy was, but he wasnât familiar with the name [name_m]Fyodor[/name_m] and misheard âFyodogâ. Thatâs been the dogâs nickname ever since.
same, i used to think that Bellamy would only suit girls !! but Bellamy Blake on the 100 really sells the name
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is overrated
I feel like itâs the name not every [name_u]Berry[/name_u] has on their list but when itâs brought up everyoneâs like âooh yes!â
hopping in for a sec to comment on some iâve missed:
1.) yeah ranking honors seems a bit odd, and i liked the comment someone made about not being able to judge the value of ANY name. kind of falls into line with the discussion we had a while back about âfillerâ names - you never know what meaning a name holds for a person, and even if it doesnât have one, the base assumption should be, âah, i respect the thought process of this other individual. i will not look at a name i personally think is bland and assume this mother is thoughtless.â which always always rubs me the wrong way. itâs never that blunt, but i k n o w a lot of people have internal biases against âraeâ and âmaeâ and âroseâ and âgraceâ, etc. letâs respect everyoneâs name choices!
2.) honestly every time people bring up a hot take of like âi donât know why it would be weird to name my kid (insert convention here)â, i think f o l k s. youâre thinking about it way too hard. very few people outside of contained, condensed naming communities will ever think that your child has a dog name, or care who your childâs honor is, etc. youâre all good!
3.) i have never seen much hype for gwen. i feel like itâs one of those kinda neutral names on here. kinda like, love for other people but not for yourself, sorta thing? it says a lot that a lot of people donât have it on their lists yknow - then you can kind of picture berries liking it for others but not feeling any sort of real passion for it lol. so iâve never really seen it as rated particularly highly at all!
About fillers: A name canât be a filler name. You can use a name as a filler. Those are different things.
Would I say fillers donât exist? Nope. I once saw an Instagram comment like this: âHer middle name took 3 seconds to decide. We had to choose something and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] sounded fine so we went with it. Didnât feel any emotional connection to it.â This is a filler. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] filled a blank. Does that mean [name_f]Grace[/name_f] can only be used as a filler middle? Nope. If you just like it or it holds a significance, in other words. if it has a reason itâs not a filler.
Though Iâd still comment âI find [name_f]Grace[/name_f] boring as a middleâ if anyone asked my opinion. Iâd say the same for first names, so? To me âI find [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] too overusedâ and âI find [name_f]Grace[/name_f] too overused as a middleâ donât have a difference. I find [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] boring, tbh. Same for [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a middle. Somehow people get defensive over middle names but not firsts.
youâve got me thinking bellamy blake does sound a lot like a berry combo and the names on that show are amazing !! i wouldnât be surprised if the person who choose the names are a berry
My catâs name is John Dorian âJDâ but lately weâve just been calling him John
Oh please post often on JDâs Instagram I enjoy seeing him
[name_m]Will[/name_m] do! S/O is the main poster there
Iâm also Hispanic so thatâs probably another reason why I pronounce it like that!
If you take names from other languages/cultures you should leave it on the gender it is traditionally used on.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is overrated
[name_m]Just[/name_m] because two people were famously married doesnât mean you shouldnât use their names for siblings (Mary and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], for example). Itâs not like youâre marrying your kids together !!
i want to like rosemary, but i just cannot get behind it
[name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] > [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
100%
I didnât use to think so, but I actually do agree now. [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] has really been growing on my lately!
