I love very feminine names on tomboys and rather masculine names on girly girls. Idk, I just like the contrast.

Yes I call my dad Papi too so [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] just seems weird too me as a name. But I also think itā€™s cute :sob:

I feel like this will be controversial because itā€™s a NB favourite, but Iā€™m really not a fan of [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] (or alternative spellings) for any gender (sorry!) :grimacing:

It makes me think of that one awful youtuber, thatā€™s why I dislike it.

This is the same scenario for me! :joy: My mom wouldnā€™t consider any name that was popular when she and my dad were kids when my sister and I were born because they were too common for her - our names ended up being in the top 100s when we were born!

I prefer Rebecca to Rebekah, but Bekah is SO much cuter than Becca.

Oh, absolutely!
And Bex is the superior nn for all variations of Rebecca.

Me neither!

I just know to many and all of them are annoying, especially one in particular. He thinks heā€™s smarter and better than me because he made a 100 on a science assignment last year and I made an 80.
He still holds it against, me, Claudie. You do not understand my frustration.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]. Hereā€™s a reminder:

The world isnā€™t [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking. People speak a lot of other languages. And we, non-Anglophones, donā€™t consider how it sounds in [name_f]English[/name_f] when naming our kids. [name_m]Just[/name_m] like you donā€™t consider how the name sounds in Chinese or Swahili. Would be nice to remember this when making comments.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day

[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] is such a perfect name! and it means lover, which is the most perfect meaning too. I could talk for so long about how much I love [name_u]Lennon[/name_u].

and [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] & Shepherd!! theyā€™re perfect together!!

If weā€™re talking about musician names, Iā€™ve always been partial to Lennox, Morrison, and Vaughan.

I agree. Itā€™s lost any vintage charm due to being so common. People say it wonā€™t be dated due to being a classic, but at least in the US, it never ranked higher than #47 before 2000 (when it started to rise). That doesnā€™t seem very classic to me in the same sense [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] (despite its recent decline) are.

I prefer [name_f]Carla[/name_f].
