I wish ALL names were non-binaryā€¦ Sorry, I said it! Iā€™ve always thought this. Why canā€™t I name my daughter [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] and my son [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]? Iā€™m not going to, because of the way society is, but I should be able to.

I personally donā€™t feel the need to pick a name with good nickname options; I donā€™t see much point in picking a nickname before a child is born, Iā€™d rather let it develop organically.

However, I can understand the wish to give a child options in that regard.

In my opinion the best names are the ones that have options, so if your kid hates the nickname thereā€™s still a full name waiting for them, or vice versa.
