[name_m]Art[/name_m] and [name_m]Artie[/name_m] are completely unisex. I donā€™t understand why theyā€™re not considered as such???

Also, my sister named a male character of hers [name_u]Nova[/name_u] and now Iā€™m in love with [name_u]Nova[/name_u] being unisex as well. !!!

I honestly never knew it was an Arabic name until I looked up its origins. Iā€™ve known a few [name_f]Layla[/name_f]ā€™s and they were all either white or Hispanic.

All the girls named [name_f]Layla[/name_f] Iā€™ve know have been Arabic, so thatā€™s probably skewed my perception. I know a little white girl with the name, but only distantly.

Iā€™m just saying I personally wouldnā€™t go for it, Iā€™m not commenting on whether people have a right to names from other cultures because obviously we are a multicultural world and we do borrow from one another, but there are some names that seem odd on someone who has no connection to the culture. Iā€™m not saying [name_f]Layla[/name_f]ā€™s one of them, but again, and I know this isnā€™t entirely logical, I try to stick to names that donā€™t wade into that controversy, despite how uninformed I feel about the matter.

No absolutely! Only do what your comfortable with! While Iā€™ve only known white and Hispanic [name_f]Layla[/name_f]ā€™s, youā€™ve only known Arab [name_f]Layla[/name_f]ā€™s and your opinion on the matter is something that a lot of the time I agree with! I absolutely get where your coming from and commented on it because finding out [name_f]Layla[/name_f] was Arabic was actually slightly surprising for me.

I donā€™t understand anyone who goes by [name_m]Dick[/name_m]. Why would you CHOOSE that? Your parents gave you [name_m]Richard[/name_m], with a million different nicknames, and you WANTED to become [name_m]Dick[/name_m]? I have nothing against people who go by [name_m]Dick[/name_m], but Iā€™m just baffled by their choices.

I wish names were judged less harshly - my whole list feels like itā€™s either too boring, too out-there, or too cheesy/ā€œtr@shyā€ (derogatory term imo, so Iā€™m censoring it), based on opinions Iā€™ve seen floating around on the internet and from what Iā€™ve heard in everyday life. It feels like I just canā€™t win with my lists :sweat_smile:
