Okay, so Iāve been loving Stephan forever, and just recently I realised that I think everyone pronounces it differently to me!
I say āSte-fahnā, not āStef-enā.
Curious to hear what you guys say.
Am I pronouncing it wrong or not?
X
Stef-an or Steve-an is how I would say it.
In my head, I said stef-ann, but out loud I wouldāve said steev-en
I say Stef-ahn!
[name_u]Stef[/name_u] Ahn
It sounds like STEFF-en when I say it. [name_m]Stefan[/name_m] would be steff-AWN (which I think it closer to how you say it?)
I say stef-un, like the beginning of [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f], but Iāve heard your pn being used too and it wouldnāt surprise me
[name_m]Stephan[/name_m] : I would say [name_u]Stef[/name_u] - ahn (although also understand [name_u]Stef[/name_u] - un)
[name_m]Stephen[/name_m] : I would say [name_u]Stef[/name_u] - enne (or have also heard Stee - ven)
[name_m]Steven[/name_m] : Stee - ven (the only pronounciation that feels comfortable to me)
I would say steh-FAWN but steff-in wouldnāt surprise me either
I pronounce it steev-ihn
STEF-ehn
Well, I normally say it the same as [name_m]Steven[/name_m], but my brain was being silly at this moment I read it, so I guess I do pronounce it as āstef-ahnā.
Stephan = STEFF-un
Stephen = STEVE-un
But wouldnāt be surprised by Stephan pn ste-FAHN (maybe more like ste-FAWN in an American accent?)
Now that you mention it I should say Stef-ahn. But I was reading it as [name_m]Steven[/name_m] until I read through your post.
Stef-ahn
stef-AHN. [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] would be steev-in. Stefen would be stef-in.
I always say āstef-en.ā I will never not be surprised when people pronounced it āsteve-inā
[name_u]Steph[/name_u]an- Steph-in
[name_u]Steph[/name_u]en- Steve-en
[name_u]Stef[/name_u]an- Steph-an
In my brain
With this pronunciation, Iād be inclined to stay Stef-Ahn
The same as [name_m]Steven[/name_m]. Wouldnāt be surprised by steff-in though
