I’ve posted about this before, see here (Modern Take to Honor a Larry?). But still struggling to come up with the right name and getting down to the wire.
Team [name_m]Green[/name_m] so boy or girl names would be appreciated. You can see the suggestions on the other post, but none have hit home. [name_m]Lawrence[/name_m] and variations and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] variations were the obvious choices. Those just aren’t doing it or we are so submerged in names that we can’t decide what we like!!
Getting extra creative this time…
[name_f]Lainey[/name_f]
[name_m]Landry[/name_m]
[name_f]Lowry[/name_f]
[name_f]Lacey[/name_f] / [name_f]Lacy[/name_f]
Rally / [name_m]Raleigh[/name_m] (reversed consonants)
[name_m]Darryl[/name_m] (has all the letters of Larry)
Rylar (anagram)
[name_f]Blaire[/name_f]
[name_m]Sinclair[/name_m]
[name_m]Enzo[/name_m] (Larry comes from [name_m]Lawrence[/name_m], [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] comes from the Italian version Lorenzo)
[name_m]Renzo[/name_m] (also comes from Lorenzo)
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m] (‘son of Lawrence’)
[name_m]Harry[/name_m]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]
[name_m]Lonny[/name_m]
I searched for names containing ‘lar’ and found these which were not suggested in your other thread:
Hillary, Ilari
Larena
Lorelai, Lori (no ‘lar’ but similar to Larry I think)
Renzo (via Lorenzo)
Claretta
Ilarion
Klara
Millaray
Stellar
Valarie
As Larry comes from Laurence, originating from Italian place name Laurentium in ancient Italy, how about another Italian city name? E.g.
Rome
Milan
Florence
Venice
Trieste (Tristan?)
Verona
Modena
Lucca
What are some names you do like? Do you have maybe a few you like but can’t use?
Just trying to get an idea of your style.
Personally, for a girl I love Lorelei. I would use it even if I wasn’t honoring the name Larry. It’s a gorgeous sweet spot name that shares similar sounds to Larry/Laurel/Laurie but I think Lorelei is more sophisticated. Leni (pronounced Lenny or Lay-nee) is becoming super trendy right now. It’s not my cup of tea but seems very well-loved & might be an option.
Another option might be Barry or another rhyming name like Perry or Mary, etc. I love all of those names on their own but bonus that they can honor Larry as well.
If you have a boy, what are your thoughts on Lawson or Larson? Son of Lars/laurel/lawrence I think they could work well as a middle name for a girl as well.
Sorry for any repeats: But based off the sounds here are some names I thought of
[name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelai[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]
[name_f]Irina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellery[/name_f]
[name_f]Larissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] / [name_f]Alara[/name_f]
