My wife is in labor right now so quick replies are appreciated!
Our short list of names is:
Mabel
Natalie
Paige
Evelyn
June
Taylor
We both like “Mabel” however her family and two best friends do not. My family likes it, and my friends are 50/50 as I’ve socialized it. The main complaint I hear is that it sounds too “old” of a name.
Last name is Williams (very common), so want to pick something not as common. Middle names are up for selection as well, including perhaps choosing from the above list.
I think [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is cute! You can use nn [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. Family/friends will grow to love it. And if you love it but don’t use it you will regret it. Also from your list I really like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Paige[/name_f]. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] is cute
Vintage, yes, but not old. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] would be a great combination for all-out vintage, or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u] if you wanted something slightly rising in popularity. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u] as a middle for a [name_u]June[/name_u] baby!
I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], it’s one of my all time favourite names.
To some people it will seem too old-fashioned. But you’ll never find a name that will please everyone. Choose the name you and your wife love.
Sorry [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is not a name I like as it sounds old ladyish. It’s on par with [name_f]Molly[/name_f] & [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] ( Good names for cows ) All your other choices are quite nice.
I like Tallia [name_f]Paige[/name_f], Tallia [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]. They are all nice combinations, in my opinion
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], it’s so pretty and vintage. Who dares what her 2 best friends and family think. If you name her [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], they will see her as that and end up loving it because it’s her name. I would go with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], what a beautiful combo.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is one of my favorite names! I think it’s sweet and totally ready for a comeback. I understand though that people’s opinions can definitely affect your decision. I say go with whatever you love. Of your other options I really like [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] as well!
I think [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is a really spunky vintage choice and I like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] teamed with a fresher more modern choice. I like the idea of [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f].
I would think of a little old lady if I heard the name [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_m]Williams[/name_m], but again, that is just me! I think [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] is adorable!
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is also “old” sounding to me; [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] is a bit too popular though i do love the name.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is old-fashion, but old fashioned names are coming back in fashion. I believe more babies will be named [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] in years to come. If you chose this name, you will be ahead of curve.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is lovely choice. I like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u].
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is so pretty and beautiful. It’s the kind of name that wears well, even though without a face to it it does seem old-fashioned. Once it belongs to someone, though, it has a lot of vivacity. One thing you can say if someone comments is, “yes, it’s an old-fashioned name and that’s our style.” Being stylish is more important than keeping up with trends.
[name_f]Maybelle[/name_f] is a fresh take on [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] (with history), and it’s rare enough to help protect your child from issues w/identity theft that come with having a common name.
Stick with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] if that’s what you love!! It’s not your family’s daughter, or your wife’s best friends’ daughter. It’s yours. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is old-fashioned, but so are [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], etc. - and those are all the rage right now.
Heck, at the daycare where I worked last summer and the school I work at now, there’s an [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], a [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], an [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], a [name_m]Quinton[/name_m], a [name_f]Faustina[/name_f], and even a kindergarten-age [name_f]Mildred[/name_f]! And no one bats at eye at those kids. If they can grow into their names and get along just fine with the Jaydens and the Dylans of the world, I suspect your [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] will not have any trouble.
I adore [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and don’t find it too old-fashioned. It has a vintage vibe, which is in right now. If you like it, who cares what your friends think? [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is lovely.
I actually think [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] seems fresher than [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Paige[/name_f], which have a very 90s vibe to me. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] will fit in with all the Evelyns, Adelaides, and Eleanors that I keep hearing about.
