Jasper or Oscar

Not expecting or ttc just curious

Which do you prefer?

What vibes do each give you?

Is one trendier than the other?

I’d love to know what y’all think!!

Thanks :yellow_heart:- bee

i like oscar more! it feels sweet and bookish, like lavender pressed between the pages of a heavy book to dry

(i know an oscar who’s the opposite of that, though, so it works on all kinds of people!)

i mostly prefer it because i don’t love jasper’s nicknames, but i adore ozzie, and oscar feels a little more timeless! i wouldnt call jasper trendy in a bad way, but it’s certainly a trendy-feeling name. i still like it too though!

Definitely [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]! [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] to me is vibrant, witchy, has history but feels modern, quirky but in the best way, could fit any personality. I’ve never personally understood the appeal of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m].

[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] for me. Feels outdoorsy, strong but easy going. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is more urban, loud, and maybe a little grouchy

I prefer [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] more.

Yes, I think [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is trendier - but not in a bad way. [name_m]Just[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is more elegant, international, has more flair and personality, and has great namesakes for me. I would use [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]

Not any specific reason, I just like it more than [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]

I quite like [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] but I looove [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. I find [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] just a little bit of an odd sound and I don’t really connect the nature imagery with it that I could do. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] sounds so friendly, cozy and wholesome to me! It probably helps enormously that all of the Oscars I looked after were sweethearts! (As a childcare worker, I looked after one [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] in my time, and many Oscars.)

Tough choice!!

[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is sleek, refined, red-orange-gold in vibe, cheerful but smart and tidy.

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is warm, rugged, woodsy and charming - both poetic and studious but outdoorsy and rough-and-tumble too.

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] feels slightly more classic, but I think I’ve loved [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] for longer

I like both but slightly prefer [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]!

I prefer [name_u]Jasper[/name_u].

[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is sharp and feline and a sparkling green.

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is more rotund. A teddy bear name.

In the US, [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is rising much faster than [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], but internationally, the inverse is true.

[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is my favourite he’s charming, whimsical, bright and I love the meaning ‘bringer of treasure’ which just adds to the overall mysticism of the name. [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] really appeals to me and feels rarer in comparison to [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] a name I encounter on a daily basis (there are two Oscar’s at my daughter’s nursery) and doesn’t feel as trendy. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is lovely very classic, has the strong O sound which people really love (including me) and I love the nickname [name_u]Ozzy[/name_u]. I think [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] feels friendlier as well.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

[name_u]Love[/name_u] both, they’re both posh [name_u]Brit[/name_u] boys hitting each other with baguettes names to me! But more seriously, both very charismatic.

[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is a little jauntier and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] a little more sturdy.

Since my LO only watches like 6 shows (one being SS) this is definitely a worry :see_no_evil:

@heartwings since we are Latine, I love the idea of my child having people like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Romero[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] to look up to :two_hearts: (and [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] too)
