What about [name_u]Julie[/name_u]? Does it feel dated to you?

It was apparently crazy common in the 60s and 70s, but I hardly ever meet a [name_u]Julie[/name_u].

[name_u]Julie[/name_u], [name_f]Julia[/name_f] or [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]?

it does feel dated to me, but that might be because i have an aunt named this. i like juliet and julia (though i’d spell it giulia), but i wouldn’t use julie as a nickname

I’ve met several Julies in their 40s/50s so it does feel a little dated - but then so does [name_f]Julia[/name_f] to me. [name_u]Julie[/name_u] is okay - pretty solid with a hint of sweetness but no frills, quite versatile.

I think I prefer [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] if I had to pick

A bit dated, yes, but the only [name_u]Julie[/name_u] I know is only 20! It’s sweet, green, and energetic to me. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is my favorite similar name.

Yeah feels very dated to me. Which is a shame really as the sounds are pretty. [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is lovely.

[name_u]Julie[/name_u] is a sweet name with old-fashioned charm. I really like it.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]

I know several [name_u]Julie[/name_u] in their late 30s, and a 5 years old Joulie but I never met a little [name_u]Julie[/name_u], it’s kinda dated but super cute.

Feels dated and a bit tired/sad to me. I prefer [name_f]Julia[/name_f] or [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], or else [name_f]Junie[/name_f].

Feels dated to me too. I adore [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f].[name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Junie[/name_f] are cute too. However, if I would meet a little Julie/ [name_f]Julia[/name_f], I think that would change my perspective.

It’s my Mum’s name. Personally, I wouldn’t judge a name by whether it seems dated or not. Name fashions come and go, and one day [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] will seem dated! I like [name_u]Julie[/name_u]. The name has a simplicity that the alternatives don’t have.

[name_u]Julie[/name_u] is a very dated name. It was crazy popular as you say and I know many Julies and the majority are 40 or older. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite [name_u]Julie[/name_u] variant is [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] or with the [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] spelling. [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] is also a lovely choice.

It feels classic to me. Especially some of the longer versions. I know several little Juliana/Giulianas and I considered [name_f]Juliette[/name_f].

Very nice name!

[name_u]Julie[/name_u] & [name_f]Julia[/name_f] both feel like perennial classics to me - not dated at all. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names!

I’ve always liked the “jewel” sound, and [name_u]Julie[/name_u] also sounds like “jolie” (pretty).

[name_f]My[/name_f] fave version is [name_f]Julia[/name_f].

I grew up with a million. I still like the name, though I prefer [name_u]Julep[/name_u] or Juilliard.

[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] sounds to me overwrought and melodramatic.

It’s my sister’s name, she’s 29 so it doesn’t feel that dated to me since I hear it often. The only complaint she has is that people often think it’s short for something or they think her name is [name_f]Julia[/name_f] which she hates.

I think [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_f]Jolie[/name_f], [name_u]Jules[/name_u], [name_f]Jovie[/name_f], and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] sound more modern, but there is nothing “wrong with [name_u]Julie[/name_u] or [name_f]Julia[/name_f] IMO

i prefer julia, and juliet(te), but i love julie! it doesn’t feel dated to me, probably because i know a young one.

For most of my life, [name_u]Julie[/name_u] was my absolute favourite name. It is a bit dated now, but I still love it. We gave my daughter [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] as a middle <3
