šŸ’ Louise will give you a curated list!

I’m feeling very[name_f][/name_f] un-inspired by my names lately, so I thought it would be fun to dive into some list curating.

[name_f][/name_f]

Pitch me your request: could be a description of your style, a list of your favourite names and combos, an aesthetic you’re looking for, or a name/combo you’d want siblings for! Sort of a name guru inspired thread, but a bit more flexible for me since I can decide how much time I want to put into it!

[name_f][/name_f]

I’ll be responding at my own speed, but feel free to request as much as you want, and I’ll try to get to them!

Fun!

[name_f][/name_f]

I’m looking for a name that is the epitome of the ā€˜divine feminine.’ Think powerful, graceful, and fierce all in one package. Something that carries strength, wisdom, and a bit of mystery—kind of like [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Morrigan[/name_f], [name_f]Lilith[/name_f], or [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]. Would love to see what you’ve got!

[name_f][/name_f]

Alternatively, if you’d like another challenge, I’d love to see what you’d come up with for sibling names for [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (separate). Again, no pressure! Thanks.

Hello, [name_f]Louise[/name_f]! Thank you so much for offering to do this! :rainbow:

[name_f][/name_f]

If you have the time and energy, I would love some help finding for ideas for siblings to Aetheria [name_f]Odette[/name_f] [name_f]Nimue[/name_f][name_f][/name_f]! I feel like you know my style a bit, but if you need more inspiration, feel free to take a look at my usercard, as many of my favorites are there! I would describe my style as somewhat grand, ancient, eclectic, mythology and fantasy inspired, and generally over-the-top!

[name_f][/name_f]

I hope my brief is not too complicated! [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to skip me if it is![name_f][/name_f] Thank you so much again if you choose to take on my request, and have a fantastic day! :yellow_heart:

Okay I’ve been waiting for this one :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

[name_f][/name_f]

I have been struggling immensely with my style lately. Feeling a bit burnt out on names, and indecisive about my criteria (I made it too strict and now I’m not sure what actually matters). I’m sort of starting over with names rn.

[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]my write up[name_f][/name_f]

As a general description of the vibe:
[name_f][/name_f]I love quirky names, I love vintage names. They can be ā€œcrustyā€ or ā€œclunky,ā€ but I don’t like them to feel super buttoned down, prim and proper. Ideally, the name would be rare in the US but not shocking. Maybe it was your grandparent’s name, maybe you’ve read it in a book. [name_f]My[/name_f] career is in science (PhD student in immunology) but I also work as a member of the Nameberry team [name_f][/name_f]— so I feel like my children’s names should balance those two lives a bit [name_f][/name_f]— steady and weighted, but exciting and interesting.
[name_f][/name_f]I foresee my kids being total weirdos. They’d create a language, wear capes to the grocery store, put on dramatic performances with the family dog. Thinking tortoiseshell glasses, [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Janes[/name_f], science experiments taking up the dinner table, and amateur sleuthery.

[name_f][/name_f]

Some names that I like already:
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Bram[/name_m], [name_m]Ernest[/name_m], [name_m]Grover[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Percy[/name_m]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f], [name_f]Maude[/name_f], [name_f]Romy[/name_f], [name_f]Thora[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f](My dogs are [name_m]Finn[/name_m] + Walter)

[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Lou[/name_f], I would take any and all insight you can give me. Want to curate my list a little? Works for me. Have a combo to suggest? I’m all ears. You aestheticized some names? Excited! Want to tell me what my future child will be named? Here’s a pen and a birth certificate.

[name_f][/name_f]

Thank you!!!

Oh Louise!! This is so exciting!

I would love to hear what names you would add / think fit with the names my partner and I both love (so far!). I’ve been slowly suggesting names to her and would love to have fresh ideas

Our kids will have one art museum parent and one lab scientist parent so their lives will definitely be a mixture of craft projects and kitchen table experiments!! I hope to raise curious, kind, quietly brave, and passionate kiddos. We love the children’s book protagonist vibe for names — what that means may vary depending on who’s saying it.

So far our list is:
Margot, Kizzy, Jane, Elsie
Henry, James, Miles

… and lots of unfortunate nos from her already: Rowan, Matilda, Ramona, Nellie / Nella, Libby, Eva, Max, Rudy, Cosmo

(Frances, Louisa, Opal, and Nell are maybes so if you think I should fight harder for any of those based on vibe I’d love to hear that too!)

This sounds great!
[name_f][/name_f]I’ve been feeling bored with my current lists. I love names that lend themselves to nicknames (I.e. [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] nn Penn), more unusual names (I.e. [name_f]Ludivine[/name_f], Alucard), surname names (I.e. Sellers, Granger), names with an international/European/Scandi flair (I.e. [name_f]Zosia[/name_f], Tryggve), etc. [name_f]My[/name_f] current top favorite combos are [name_m]Kennet[/name_m] [name_m]Evander[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Kit[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Columba[/name_f] [name_f]Jean[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f][name_f][/name_f]. I’d be grateful for any ideas you have for me.
[name_f][/name_f]Thank you!!!

Thank you for offering this!

[name_f][/name_f]

I’d love to get some ideas similar to: [name_m]Nai[/name_m], [name_f]Romy[/name_f], Tez, [name_f]Mab[/name_f], [name_f]Tassie[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m], [name_f]Katri[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Joni[/name_f], [name_m]Ziggy[/name_m], [name_f]Dessie[/name_f], [name_f]Deenie[/name_f], [name_m]Kite[/name_m], [name_f]Scout[/name_f], [name_f]Ro[/name_f], [name_f]Mitzi[/name_f], [name_f]Bebe[/name_f], [name_m]Mack[/name_m], [name_f]Wynn[/name_f], [name_f]Winry[/name_f], [name_m]Merle[/name_m], [name_m]Thaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Tor[/name_m], [name_f]Keedie[/name_f], [name_f]Jilly[/name_f], [name_m]Taz[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]

Take as much time as you need [name_f][/name_f]- and no worries if you don’t get to this one!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’d like suggestions of more combos for my UC, which so far, has [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f] Marianthe, [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] [name_m]Taliesin[/name_m], and [name_m]Dante[/name_m] [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

The vibe is marble statues draped in ivy and wisteria, dew-covered cobwebs catching the sunlight on a spring morning, bees and dragonflies buzzing through the air, forests and marshes shrouded in mist, the smell of campfire smoke and sea salt, windswept cliffs.

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]

(I’m reading through this thread and just wanted to show my appreciation for [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] [name_m]Taliesin[/name_m], I love it)

Baudelarian and romantic, symbolist 19th century gothic with a touch of French-Italian boheme and European chic, perhaps with a touch of nobilty here and there from [name_m]German[/name_m] Polish and Slavic influences.

Oh, [name_f]Louise[/name_f], how fun!

[name_f][/name_f]

You have many requests already, so please feel free to skip mine!

[name_f][/name_f]

I would love a list that fits in with my current favorite names, as my style does seem to be shifting a bit. Right now, my favorite names are: [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Ruby[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Asa[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_m]Noah[/name_m], [name_m]Jude[/name_m], [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m], [name_m]Rowan[/name_m], and [name_m]Gideon[/name_m].

A middle name for Elsa! List as many suggestions as you want!

This is so sweet Lou!! Only if you have time, but I would love more grand, historic-cool boys names like [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] and [name_m]Hadrian[/name_m] !!
[name_f][/name_f]Anything you think fits the vibe
[name_f][/name_f]Thanks so much :green_heart:

Could you please let me know which order you prefer for this name (with Merlowe being the stand in for my husband’s real last name, which sounds similar. This would be for a real child):

[name_f][/name_f]

S@skia Leon0r [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] Merlowe

[name_f][/name_f]

S@skia [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] Loen0r Merlowe

[name_f][/name_f]

I see the first as more regal & poised, and the second, more lyrical & whimsical.

[name_f][/name_f]

Are there any Spanish names (as an honour) you would sub in for [name_f]Leonor[/name_f] instead? [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] was my grandmother’s name so would like to keep.

[name_f][/name_f]

Thank you! :cherries:

I would love to see some names inspired by this moodboard 🩷
