Name for Nickname Leo

Hello All!

I have used the super search, and still haven’t found a long name to shorten to [name_m]Leo[/name_m].

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is a family name, but my husband isn’t sold on the “nickname” as the full name. It doesn’t have to start with [name_m]Leo[/name_m], as long as the name contains it somewhere. Taking ALL suggestions! Thanks!

I feel like many other people on here have had the same dilemma with the name [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. The only name containing [name_m]Leo[/name_m] that I’ve really ever care for is [name_m]Leopold[/name_m]. Other options [name_m]Leon[/name_m] and [name_m]Leonard[/name_m], but I don’t care for either of those.

We named our son [name_m]Leo[/name_m] - that is his full name. At first I really wanted to find a “full” name for it too, so I searched and searched for one.

The closest we came to finding one was [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] (the Spanish association worked for us), but in the end we realized we just loved [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and went with that.

It was a great decision! We love the name on its own, it doesn’t feel like a nickname, and would have regretted forcing a longer name just because.

Whatever you decide, good luck!

[name_m]Leon[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
[name_m]Leopold[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonid[/name_m]

Napoleon, Leofric, Leandro or Galileo?

The Leo in my book is Leosandro, but I made that up.

You could also do any ‘lee’ name with any ‘oh’ name. Examples:

Ashley Owen nn Leo
Bradley Oberon nn Leo

[name_m]Lennox[/name_m], that is the one i like best and I always end up shortening it to [name_m]Leo[/name_m].

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u], pronounced [name_m]Layton[/name_m]

Or maybe even Olsen??
