I love generational dice roll CAFs - I get so into these made up families and create backstories for each person and enjoy following their “lives”. But I’m so scared to start another one because the last one I did had like 14 decades and by the end I was spending 2-3 hours+ on each post, but I was so determined to finish.
It was fun, but a little traumatizing, ngl, and I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to commit to something like that again.
Double -a endings are pretty a lot of the time… I only dislike them when there are too many other sounds repeating in the rest of the name.
I LOVE double -a endings
They sound melodic and I love many -a names so using them in the same combo is even better
Double -a endings can be so lovely! [name_f]My[/name_f] first ever combo for [name_f]Anya[/name_f] was [name_f]Anya[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], which I still really like!
Double -a endings are the only same endings I can easily tolerate tbh. For some reason, -a almost feels very subtle and difficult to notice? Whereas double -ee sounds or -o and occasionally -ia feel more emphasised and stand out more to me.
I can get behind double -a endings as long as the names don’t have other repeating sounds or as long as the match is just the -a and not the ending 2 or 3 letters of the names
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Silvana[/name_f]? Not my jam. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f]? [name_m]Can[/name_m] totally get behind that.
i’ve got a history of nickname post so feel free to add that to the comments or if you want me to add it to the post that’s brilliant work, molly!
my toddler nephew calls my kids mimi and momo, and now we’re choosing a name for #3 that also has a cutesy double-syllable nickname I wouldn’t do it without the full names to fall back on, but when it’s just a nickname, bring ON the cutesy!
I find double A- endings with non-matching vowel sounds (as you describe) so lush and entrancingly maximalist. It just adds so much exuberance to a combo.
@regionlatbest @AerieEerie ah the Umbrella Academy is to blame for the fact I adore [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] on a boy!!
@marigold.solstice coincidentally, my rant is also that I wish [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] had more use on boys! Your description is perfect. I’ve just been imagining little boys named [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] & [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] and I wish I was brave enough to seriously consider it!
Half the

my

I understand this I love [name_f]Maren[/name_f], it’s beautiful, easy to say, the perfect name for a hypothetical daughter. It took way too long for me to realize that it sounds just like my name with an ‘m’ tacked on front. (And I just don’t think the same way about my own name even though they sound so similar.)
Literally, I like [name_f]Ophira[/name_f], [name_f]Shira[/name_f], [name_f]Samira[/name_f], Catira, [name_u]Akira[/name_u] etc. but it would be so confusing in real life to have all that!
I love both [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] & [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] so, so, much, but they’re much to close for me to use both of them
[name_f]Lilith[/name_f] has so much more meaning to me but I’ve been loving my [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] combo more than my [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] combo recently, and I can’t decide which name I like more!
It’s going to be hard to choose between [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] one day and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! — I love them all, but too similar!
Omg yeah when names I like are too close for siblings like [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_m]Dax[/name_m] and [name_m]Ajax[/name_m]
I’m trying to convince myself that Lilith and Lilac aren’t too close for siblings even though I know they probably are
I mean… lih in [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] and [name_m]Lye[/name_m] in lilac… idk lol
That’s my reasoning but they look so similar visually
WHY DO I HAVE TO LIKE SUCH SIMILAR SOUNDING/LOOKING NAMES??
Ok this is why I’m terrified to start CAFs
