The next girl is from Cameroon, having emigrated with her family when she was 8 years old. She lives with her father, mother, paternal aunt, and siblings. She is the 3rd of 5 children. She speaks french with Ms. N in class, and that brings her some comfort, she feels grateful that Ms. N is willing to do that. She is 5’9", and wears her dark brown hair in a loose afro. She prefers to line her eyes using metallic, peacock colors for a dramatic look. She adapts different styles, going from put-together houndstooth blazers one day to flowing sarongs the next. She loves painting with acrylics in abstract style.

The next student is considered to have a duel identity by some of his peers - being considered an exceptional maths student, yet this has never interfered with how much he loves creating art using charcoals and chalks. At 6 years old he was diagnosed with Aspergers and in spite of facing some judgment following this, he’s ultimately been glad for this - as it helps him process his experiences better. He’s the older brother of the Schneider twins - 10 year olds Jack Alexander and Emmeline " Emmy " Rose - and the eldest of four children, with another sister who’s just turned 15. His parents have always ensured he has space and quiet, as his favourite pastime is curling up with a good book alongside the family’s Jack Russell Dexter - although he’s also a keen windsurfer when the weather’s better. He’s also who Alex Nemmis has an interest in and it’s quietly returned, speaking to his close friends about this one regular basis - as he never quite knows how to express his feelings in a way he considers ‘cool’. At 5’10" he’s very lanky and has wild, pale blonde hair which curls slightly at the ends - with a fair complexion and light blue eyes. His favoured sense of style is chaotic grunge with some academia elements - namely in the form of his beloved satchel bags and oversized cardigans - although he did recently take the plunge and got his right ear tragus pierced. Thanks to his clashing favoured subjects he doesn’t know what he wants in the future career wize and worries about this often, confiding in his mom - a local cake maker who’s known for her very warm, compassionate nature - who does her best to remind him he doesn’t have to rush his plans. Z invited him to attend pride recently, after he came out as gay, and he had a wonderful time there with his friends - in the process considering a future working in that sphere considering how uplifting of an experience it was.

The first student is a boy who is a little clumsy sometimes. However, he often plays off of his clumsiness and is seen as the comedian of the classroom.

The second student is Jack’s twin sister. She is quiet until she warms up to you and then she is talkative and fun.

  9. Theodore ‘Teddy’ Lucas Schneider

The 10th student is known for his dedication to all creative subjects, more so than traditional academics. His love of metalwork is infused with what he creates, preferring unusual materials to express his artistry, as he feels they reflect his own nature nicely. Having vitiligo, he’s faced both bullying and intrusive questions throughout his life; however what upset him most was seeing his mom blame herself for this, as she shares the condition. At 6’1" and with a lithe figure, he wears his hair in bantu knots and his style incorporates lots of traditional Senegal patterns to reflect his heritage. He takes pride in his eyes, which are a dark honey colour, and more recently he’s been encouraged by Antonia to try wearing gold makeup (be it glitter or eyeshadow), something he’s come to love and incorporate as much as possible; as well as having his septum pierced. As the only son, with an older sister who’s in her final year of high school and younger one who’s in 8th grade; he and his dad are particularly close, sharing a love of classical music which they find helps them relax.

The next student is a girl who is of American Samoan descent. She is second generation American, and very connected to her culture. She is close friends with Ayume Tsunoda, sharing her reading passion (particularly horror, like her friend, and also sci-fi, with biopunk being her favorite subgenre), and her love of finding calm, serene places to hang out. In class, she’s noticed that Scarlet’s going for a bolder look, and that has peaked her interest, and she is striking up a friendship with her. She tends to have a few close friends at a time.
She is 5’5", curvy, and has thick curly black hair that lands midback. Her eyes are a warm brown, and she has a nose ring and 6 piercings in her earlobes. She wears turquoise studs in her upper holes, and discreet silver hoops in her lower ones. She prefers to wear dresses, most often floral print or geometric designs, and loves to find them from garage sales, or to raid her mom’s boho-heavy closet. Her younger brother is 13 and already 5’8", and they have a loving relationship. The family has had some adverse experiences, but she doesn’t share much about it at school.
She loves art class because it’s opening her up to expressing without words, and she’s feeling a new sense of freedom. So far she’s found that all things tactile are her favorite - sculpture, assemblage, and she is including 3-D elements in her paintings as well.
She thinks that her future is in public service, but isn’t sure exactly where she will land. This newly discovered love of art is something she wants to keep doing, as well.

The next student is 17 years old and has recently come out as a lesbian. She grew up in a home with two dads, so they were very supportive of their daughter. She was adopted from Ethiopia when she was a baby but has always felt a bit distant from her culture. She has two younger siblings; a sister adopted from Taiwan and a brother adopted from foster care. Growing up she had a pet hamster named Skittles, after her favorite candy. She has always loved coming from a multicultural family. Her dad is white and her papa is Cuban. She noticed when she was sixteen that she was never really into regular movies with a guy and girl together, and soon enough discovered she was actually attracted to women. Her crush, Paloma, is in chemistry class with her, but she is too scared to confess her attraction.

The 13th student is the third Newman sibling, who’s adapted to being part of such a large family by developing a notoriously calm demeanor and is typically the go-to peacemaker now her eldest sister’s attending college. She’s only younger than her closest sister in age by ten months, meaning they’re actually in the same year group in spite of not being twins - something that they found very amusing in terms of tricking new teachers into thinking otherwise (who’ve promptly ensured they aren’t placed in the same classes too often subsequently). With a boho meets new age aesthetic, haram pants, oversized clothes and patchwork patterns are go to’s for her style wise, accompanied by a dash of silver; often having small braids or beaded decoration within her hazel brown hair, that tends to have a permanent bed head aspect to its wild texture - a trusty bucket hat serving as the best cure when she doesn’t have time to tame it properly. Her septum’s pierced - as are her ears extensively; preferring dangly and long jewelry - and she has her sights firmly set on getting a tattoo the moment she turns eighteen. She shares her younger sister Aloisa’s appreciation of horror, with her paintings having a lot of gothic and subtly macabre elements to them - a style that did lead to her being referred to the school counselor when she was fourteen - but if quickly became apparent she merely has an love for the darker side of things and getting scared in a healthy sense. Jewelry is something else she’s fond of making - having learned some metal work from Ali, and she recently worked with Thorn and her closest sister to create a pendant for their mom’s birthday: depicting a Fairywren, her favourite type of bird. Having come out as pansexual just after turning sixteen, she met her girlfriend thanks to her interest in urban exploring, with it actually serving as their first date - but she refuses to go on double dates with any of her siblings, as that’s one of the few things that she really can’t handle being around. Her best friend is Kiojah - who’s been teaching her French, although she’s the first to admit she’s a slow learner when it comes to languages; preferring anything that depends more on creativity, and is always the first to compliment her makeup. She helped create the logo for High Velocity thanks to her artistic abilities and the fact she’s never been affronted by Thorn’s protective tendencies, being one of the main confidents of her younger brother - although she’s realistic and doesn’t expect to know everything about his life.

Summary

The next student comes from a large family. She is stuck in the middle, being kid 5 out of 10. It’s hard for her being stuck right in the middle of such a chaotic group, and especially since she has to be a role model for her younger siblings. She feels a lot of pressure and compares herself to her older sisters in particular. Mrs. Sekelsky has reminded her several times that she is doing her best and doesn’t need to constantly compare herself to her sisters. This student and Xiomara tend to get along well.

Hawthorne ’ Thorn ’ Gray Newman is credited to @I_meme_it !

Summary

The next student also comes from a large family, being the older brother of Ravenna Paisley Newman from Mrs. Sekelsky’s class. Like his younger sister, he finds it hard standing out, and tends to do as such by rebelling in every way possible, considering any form of attention better than being overlooked; something that his teacher’s have come to recognise, and they’ve encouraged him to concentrate on what makes him happy. This has been music, with him playing drums in his friend’s band - High Veolicty - and through this he’s settled considerably. Being the 4th of 10 kids means he’s protective towards others, acting as a surrogate big brother to some of his friends and classmates. Recently he had help from Cillian to dye his hair neon yellow, which compliments his punk sense of fashion - especially his favourite tartan trousers.

Aloisa Briar Newman was made by yours truly!

Summary

The next student is the 2nd youngest Newman sibling. In the vain of her parents influence, she’s heavily inspired by the Victorian Gothic era - citing Mary Shelley as her idol and trying her best to dress in appropriate fashion. In spite of this she isn’t particularly morbid, having a very upbeat and enthusiastic demeanor, being naturally sociable on account of coming from such a busy household. She’s annoyed her hair’s dark blonde instead of jet black - often complaining to her best friend who possesses the dream colour - and tends to wear it loose with dramatic accessorising; but is proud of her blue-green eyes, finding depending on what she wears, one shade will brighten. As her parents work in the horror industry - her dad’s a writer of both novels and screenplays; mom does prosthetic makeup and special effects - she’s got a love of costumes too, having worked with her older siblings to create some killer Halloween looks; and she’s learning to sew with the help of her gran. Some of her teachers have been alarmed by her fascination with the macabre and everything spooky - but Ms. Kiefer has encouraged this gently, by ensuring she’s introduced to age appropriate media and suggesting she writes down the ghost stories she’s so fond of writing, so they can be shared with classmates who’ll enjoy her talents. In spite of there being a lot of jostling for attention among the siblings, she isn’t too phased and does her own thing often - going to a friends house or listening to audiobooks and drawinf up in her room. Out of everyone she’s particularly close to Thorn, thinking his dyed hair is amazing and has constant questions about how his band’s doing - being more than a little annoyed she isn’t allowed to go to their gigs and instead has to rely on the music copies her brother saves for her. Thanks to her parents jobs, she’s also close friends with an up-and-coming child actress - however she keeps this information to herself as she doesn’t want anyone to like her for inauthentic reasons; and also knows her friend faces enough pressure in general, so she does her best to uphold her privacy. More than anything she’d love a pet - even more so since talking to Eli, as they sit next to each other thanks to their surnames - but for now she has to be content with her dad’s tropical fish, who the siblings have tried to name but it proves difficult based on splitting the decision making evenly.

The 14th student is a girl who is very known for her naturally low voice which sits in the contralto range. Sometimes it bothers her because she tends to get mistaken for a man, especially by older folks - who she has frequent contact with due to volounteering at a nursing home ever since she lost her paternal grandparents in a tragic car crash. Naturally warm and caring, she has a good head on her shoulders and loves organising parties or events for seniors at the place where she volounteers. She also has a keen interest in fashion - especially being into the corporate, suit-and-tie-for-women aesthetic which she feels completes her overall organised and quiet nature. Because of her voice and style she is often regarded as boring at best or cold and souless at worst. Very few people can see through that - Pomeline Newman, her best friend, being one of them. Recently through Pomeline and Thorn. this girl has met Kelso Pendry and found a deep connection to him, admiring his goal to become a substance counselor and bonding over losing loved ones. The girl became involved in finding venues and booking events for High Velocity to play at, just for the sake of further befriending Kelso. It feels good to finally have found someone who understands her. She is determined to strengthen the friendship and for now chooses to ignore butterflies in her stomach. She’s way too put-together for stupid teenage infatuation.

The next student is admittedly a creative personality at heart, often feeling insecure in comparison to some of his classmates - which he tries his best to hide. He belongs to the band High Velocity - performing as the frontman - alongside Thorn Newman and subsequently is close friends with Warui based on their mutual connection. His mum’s a Scottish opera singer and raised him and his sister - who’s older than him only by thirteen months and attends St. Veronica’s - as a single parent following the sudden passing of their father, a music video director, from complications to do with alcoholism. This had led to him to develop an interest in becoming a substance counselor, even if his music works out as he considers it a highly important service - and wants to prevent others enduring the complex feelings he went through growing up in regards to his dad. He has silky, dark red hair cut at jaw length and dresses in an elegant style that favours dark colours, velvet fabric and sheer material - with his right ear being extensively pierced as well as his septum, often wearing glittery cloud stickers beneath his eyes. At last three times a year he visits his extended family in Dumbarton and incorporates Scottish slang into his songwriting for added flavour. His closest confident is his maternal cousin Alistair - who’s only a week younger than him - and the pair vidchat once a week usually. Although shy throughout his childhood, music really helped him come out of his shell and he’s part of a large friend group - consisting of students from numerous schools, as he loves meeting contrasting personalities. He’s the proud owner of a pet bearded dragon - named Shredder, in tribute to he and his sister’s devotion to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as kids - and Alistair’s sister Maeva painted Shredder onto the back of a denim jacket he proudly wears to gigs. Recently he’s felt more able to open up to Mr McSimmons’ about his fears - especially in the wake of his hopes to work helping others - and the support his teacher has shown in return has considerably eased his mind.

The next boy has had a passion for art for as long as he can remember. His parents brought him on frequent trips to the modern art museum, and he grew up thinking of famous artists as his friends. He’s in the 25th percentile for height, and is slim as well, but building muscle due to joining the water polo team. He’s half Jewish, on his dad’s side, and he lives with his father and younger sister, his mom having passed away when he was 14 due to heart failure. He likes the finer things in life, which his friends tease him about - his caviar tastes. He has bright blue eyes and blonde hair, and can be perceived as somewhat vain about his looks.

The next student signed up for this course after being waitlisted for a photography class at East Marsh. She has had a passion for taking photos since she can remember, so drawing and painting (plus other things) are definitely out of her element. She has auburn colored hair cut short into a pixie cut. She has a pair of clear glasses but doesn’t wear them often even though she probably should. She is a pretty good student - usually completing her work on time and efficiently. She volunteers as a peer tutor, helping underclassmen with their assignments. She is dating a guy named Jack, and they have been together for a year and a half now. She has two older sisters and one younger brother, plus the family labradoodle, Sachi. She cut her hair short when she turned 15 because she wanted to distinguish herself from her sisters who are close in age to her, one being 18 and the other being 20.

This can cause her to become a bit spoiled, as her mother rarely tells her no. Despite this, she is nice girl, and a talented painter. This girl is very shy, since she get bullied due to the fact she has a lazy eye. She does have one friend though, a girl named Evie Foster.

The next student is dedicated to surrealism, arguably befitting of his contrary nature. Some teachers have found this frustrating - as he can seem disconnected from lessons, often doodling while listening as it helps him concentrate - but Ms. N understands it’s his form of self-expression and has helped introduce him to more unusual artists, who he finds he relates to. He’s from a small, tight knit family - having a younger sister, who’s his polar opposite in terms of interests - and shares a love of learning languages with his dad, an engineer who travels extensively thanks to his work in renewable power. This has influenced both his own values and style - he’s an eco-punk whose style incorpates patched up trousers and graphic print tees, often changing his hair style, and as of now it’s a mullet; although interestingly enough he’s never dyed it from its natural black. Having just reached 6ft he’s slim and tends to rush about places, even if he isn’t late - although his height is enhanced by the heavy bovver boots he favours - and rather infamously he got his tongue pierced, something his mom (a dentist) wasn’t exactly thrilled about. Recently he came to realise he’s asexual - after often questioning the fact his friends got into relationships whereas he lacked any interest or jealousy - which has helped him figure out more in terms of himself. His loved ones have thankfully been nothing but supportive of him in the wake of this understanding, and he’s joined the school’s LGBTQIA+ Alliance in order to speak to others and find more common ground outside of his established circle. Sometimes he’s hinted to guessing Bee has a crush on his good friend Kelso but it’s never mean spirited, as he’s been a surprisingly successful matchmaker throughout his time at East Marsh - including helping out his good friend Jack Culloughfield, Jade’s boyfriend.

The next student is soft spoken and serious about her art - she plans to go to art school - but is more social within her group of friends. She is of Mexican, Hawaiian, and Filipino descent. Her parents had her when they were 18, and she likes that they’re cooler than her friends’ parents, with her mom sharing her passion for anime and her dad enjoying taking day trips with her and her younger brother. She’s 5’1" with bobbed brown hair that’s naturally highlighted with blonde streaks near her face. She has a tan complexion with freckles, a naturally husky voice, and a gentle gaze. She tends to dress casually, and can be seen among her friends as a peacemaker - people are drawn to her easygoing attitude. She’s close to Antonia and Ali, and she has just begun seeing her boyfriend. She’s excited to be dating for the first time.

The 20th student is not the most sociable person, often dealing with a lot of insecurities based his poor background. He lives with his mom, a single parent who works as a cleaner, and two younger half-siblings: his 11-year-old brother and 6-year-old sister, who’s dad was convicted for domestic violence; something that he was exposed to and still has counseling for. His own father left before he was born, and it’s hard for him considering they look very alike: both being tall (he’s 6’1") and slender, with wild, wiry dark brown hair and sharp jawlines, although he’s glad to have the deep blue eyes of his mom. Ms. N asked East Marsh’s headteacher to inquire about the local council getting him a drawing tablet, as she hoped his confidence would flourish with the new tools, and this thankfully proved correct. More than anything he wants to illustrate comic books and graphic novels, an interest that means he wishes he had the confidence to talk to Scarlet more. He tends to dress in thrifted clothes that he spends a lot of time styling, with graphic tees of bands or their logos being his favourites; alongside his check print Vans which he saved up for himself, working at a local fast food joint at weekends.

The next student comes off as very clique-y and arrogant. On the exterior she seems to “try too hard” to fit in with all the trends, and her hair is very blotchy from all the times she tried to self-bleach it. Her parents aren’t very involved in her life, and they never really have been. As a kid she spent lots of time in positions of power in her friend groups, perhaps as a reflection of what she observed at home. She is about 5’8 and enjoys wearing super cropped outfits, which often leaves her in the dean’s office for violating the dress codes. On the inside, she has a lack of understanding for who she really is. She sees all these girls on social media who seem to be living a perfect life, and seem to be super happy, so she tries to replicate that in her own life in hopes to become happier herself. Art is one aspect of her life where she feels she doesn’t need to try super hard to please anyone, and she can actually express what’s going on in her head through the pieces she creates. She enjoys very abstract and surreal artwork because of how open they are to interpretation.

The next student isn’t the most talkative until she truly feels her voice needs to be heard. A first generation immigrant, she moved from Kyoto when she was five and her style draws inspiration from traditional Japanese art - with the subject having always been her favourite, although media class is a close second thanks to her growing interest in making short animatics. Her closest friends in class are Reese and Elisapeta, and her best friend is ironically someone who isn’t too interested in more creative subjects - but she feels this brings them closer together, as they can talk for hours about a wide range of subjects, with history being a favourite. The daughter of a biology lecturer and a retired ballet dancer, she’s the younger of two children, with an older brother who uses he/they pronouns and is preparing to graduate - although she finds it frustrating how secretive they’re being about what they plan on majoring in; as the siblings have typically shared a close bond, causing her to suspect they’re acting on impulse. Her dad in particular loves to insist she should become a detective, as when she wants to find something out she’s incredibly tenacious and absolutely nothing stands in her way - traits she shares with her mom, who’s always the first to encourage her daughter in whatever she sets her mind to. At only 4’10", she dresses in a y2k mall Goth style and dyes the tips of shoulder length hair white, finding it compliments the black colour perfectly alongside her brighter accents. She loves wearing wedged heels as they give her the height she’s eager to gain, and her makeup is fittingly dramatic - often featuring wave esq. eyeliner in a variety of colours that matches the jewelry she’s picked out. When she isn’t practicing her artwork or calling her family who still live in Japan, she enjoys rollerblading as a pastime, considering it the best way of reducing her carbon footprint - gaining the approval of Jasper in the procesz. Her parents allowed her to get a pet chinchilla last year - who she’s named Echo - and her responsibile side always comes out around the little furball; being very mindful of her pets needs and the fact overcrowding would be a nightmare for Echo, not caring some people consider this stingy on her behalf. Part of her wishes to live with her grandparents while attending university - as her culture means a lot to her - but as of now, the thought of leaving behind all her dear friends and beloved family feels a little intimidating (not that she’ll ever say it outloud).

The 23rd student is a keen photographer. He particularly enjoys taking photos at events that matter to the local community - be it local festivals , concerts or even political rallies. He loves photos like that because he can capture the emotions that take over people’s hearts when they come together. He is quite sociable, getting along well with Jade because of their mutual interest. With his neatly done, straight, ginger hair and pale skin, he is immediately recongisable as Tabby Westgale’s older brother. Although the personalities of those two couldn’t be more different, they are pretty much inseparable and are both firm believers in the good old rule “Only I can mess with my sibling!”. It stems from the fact that their father and mother, a neurologist and a prosecutor respectively, have always been devoted to their careers first , which made them feel like they only really have eachother. It happens despite their parents seeming involved in their lives on a very superficial level of buying gifts and going to parent-teacher conferences. The guy hopes he and Jade can inspire Tabitha to open up to people more and recently even came up with how to do that - they plan to gather a bunch of friends for a photography session meant to be inspired by vampires as they’re described in Tabitha;'s book, effectively making her the creative director of the event.

@kitkatcookie Absolutely no problem!

Tabitha " Tabby " Ruby Westgale was made by yours truly!

Summary

The next child is a quite introverted girl who doesn’t like to stand out. She always keeps her ginger hair in a neat bun and prefers neutral color palettes on her clothing - particurarly gray woolen sweaters and black turtlenecks paired with denim trousers or black skirts together with white tights . Although she’s very far from a gossiper herself, she likes celebrity gossip and follows various influencers on Instagram, hoping to one day be famous and confident like them. In her free time she listens to Billie Eilish and posts a fanfiction on Wattpad in which an ordinary teenage girl, Amy , gains popularity and respect in school by becoming a vamipire Youtuber and flaunting her supernatural abilities on social media.
She sees Amy as a reflection of herself and so far Ms. Lambos’ is the only person in her real life who has ever seen the story. Ms. Lambos is very impressed by the girl’s creativity and willingnes to add motives from myth or traditional Romanian folklore to her work, although very concerned with her extensive social media usage and glorification. She works together with the girl’s family to get her to open up and socialise with classmates.

The next student prefers working with clay primarily, something he jokingly attributes to loving playdough so much as a child. This prompted his interest in also painting in unusual ways - not just applying his brush in strokes but incorporating handprints and other materials alongside the acrylic, with an emphasis based on warm, bright colours. He’s a huge fan of tie dye as a print but otherwise his style doesn’t particularly follow the boho mold, instead taking more inspiration from editorial and high fashion styling, especially when he’s wearing his green, faux fur jacket. Having best friends with Sol since they were only six, their families couldn’t be more different: his parents run their own landscaping business and are very attentive to their three children, having conceived him - their eldest - only a few months after earning their degrees. At 5’9", his shoulders are a little broad when compared to his slender frame - something he used to dislike until his growth spirt began - and he’s got dark, honey coloured hair that curls at the ends; with rich, caramel brown eyes often brightened by the freckles the sun brings out across his skin. He’d like to get a facial piercing of some sort but hasn’t made up his mind yet on what exactly, instead opting to get an industrial bar threaded through his left ear. Known for his affable, wry humoured nature, he’s pretty popular and tries his best to get along with everyone, considering his younger brother - who’s exceptionally moody at the moment - his practice run for maintaining this demeanor. He and Lydia actually dated when they were fifteen briefly, but found their natures clashed too much, and while he would’ve liked to remain friends he also understands it could’ve been very awkward. Like his mom, he’s incredibly talented at cooking comfort food - making mean toasties - and often prepares extra for Sol and Ruby alongside his younger sister (his brother’s insisting on preparing his own lunches). Sometimes - a thought he’s only ever admitted to Sol or his dad - he considers reaching out to Lydia but worries it might seem disingenuous based on his devil-may-care reputation; especially thanks to how they’ve both changed in almost two years. To clear his head - or to escape from his brother blaring death metal and sister complaining ahout her dance competitions - he goes for bike rides, accompanied by the family’s beloved rescue dog: a three legged Papillon named Basil, who sits in the basket on his bike.

The next girl is less mature than a lot of her classmates. She follows Reese, Z, and Kiojah around, without really making a connection with them. Bee has jokingly nicknamed her ‘The Shadow’. She doesn’t pick up on social cues, and tends to be very shy. She’s relatively guileless, and ultimately the other students know that, and have grown to understand that she’s going to be around. Ms. Navarre lets the students negotiate this for the most part, and focuses everyone back on the art.
She’s got shoulder length, sunbleached wavy blonde hair, brown eyes, and freckles. She often wears denim in light colors, along with sweatshirts from locales where she’s visited. She is an only child, having been raised mostly by her nanny, while her parents (a lawyer and a CEO) were quite hands off. She has a dapple gray mare, named Glitter, that they board at the stable near school. She thinks Glitter understands her better than people do. She dedicates all of her art projects to Glitter, depicting the mare in many different forms.

The next student was uncertain about joining the class, as she was unsure if her style of art, collaging, would be considered ‘valid’ next to others. Ms. N has been nothing but supportive in this though, having a very broad opinion of what art is, and especially appreciates how this girl reflects personal stories and messages within her’s. Her art reflects her life as an Omani-American and Muslim, who chooses to wear a hijab, and is known for having a very chic, sophisticated sense of style; preferring silk, velvet and woolen fabrics, often paired with her favourite nude kitten heels. She does her makeup in a likewise immaculate manner, especially around her eyes as she’s very proud of their lovely coffee colour, which compliments her jet black eyebrows and the golden nose stud she wears. In spite of her confidence in how she dresses, she often worries about academics, feeling she pales in comparison to her older brother who’s studying to become a neurosurgeon and mom who’s involved in Embassy work; in spite of her parents trying their best to dissuade her from being so hard on herself. The main family member she’ll listen to is her dad, a fun-loving chef who owns his own restaurant and has a well of dad jokes to cheer up his kids. Her best friend also belongs to this art class and she’s the biggest voice of support within the room, rivaled only by this girl’s younger brother and sister, who are art obsessed fraternal twins.

The next student is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. They have presented this way since they were fourteen, and pretty much everyone at East Marsh has accepted them in their new identity. They are biracial, being part black and part white. They are deeply connected to their mother’s black side, especially in today’s current society. They advocate for the rights of black trans students and black nonbinary students through social media, organizing peaceful protests, community gatherings, and informational sessions. They have an older brother who is a freshman in college at the University of California, Los Angeles. Sometimes they are able to go and visit him, but it’s usually not a common thing since this student is also involved in the debate team. They enjoy sculpting, much like Abel, so the two often get along well in class and share tricks they’ve discovered. This student has a very popular tiktok account in which they share what it’s like to not only be a biracial student, but also being nonbinary. Sometimes their art is also featured in the videos, which Ms. N appreciates.
