The 30th student is Jaylan’s sister, who took the class when she and her brother were both thrilled to see a class that would teach a language most universities wouldn’t have normally. She wishes this was in higher spirits, given this war was horrific, and she often finds herself speechless on injustices. Normally a high-spirited person, people often underestimate her true feelings when she’s not happy-go-lucky.
Honestly, she’s not the little girl who needs her older relatives by her side. She knows her brother doesn’t try to baby her, but it’s worried her a lot that maybe she does get babied too hard. Too many times when she wants to speak out, people accuse her of being “sheltered” and that her complaints aren’t anything to get worked up over. This only convinces her to keep acting happy and not let anything change that, because she worries it could change her. Thankfully, she’s glad to be open about her thoughts thanks to [name_f]Leni[/name_f] and the resourceful environment in class.

The next student is a lover of furry animals. He has curly black-brown hair, dark skin, and loves hoodies. He is really good at making pet treats. Studied because he works with animals and wants to help Ukrainian pets who are less fortunate due to wartime get adopted and cared for.

The 32nd student listens to a lot of Ukrainian music, considering it a way to free himself mentally. He’s visited the country lots of times pre-invasion, and misses being able to go. The worst part for him is the fact that many of the wonderful sights he’s seen are damaged, destructed, or completely gone. He has gone through some rough times and this has only made it worse, yet he’s not the kind of person to go away, he wants to stay close with the spirit of Ukraine.
He’s not Ukrainian, he’s very much a [name_m]Brit[/name_m] (though spending much of his early years in the [name_f]British[/name_f] Virgin Islands), and he’s kept on a lot of his heirlooms from WWII during the bombings in the UK. He likes to envision peace despite lingering worries of a WWIII. He likes hippie culture and lifestyle as well, and has a minimalist streak. He always had deep brown skin and long hair, and only recently grew out a beard. Learning a new language was difficult and he started at a slow pace but now he’s doing better at remembering and appreciating the linguistics behind Ukrainian.

Next student entered the class for more cultural understanding. She found out her IVF baby was from a Ukrainian donor. She knows she isn’t of that culture and doesn’t want to appropriate, though she is open to baby knowing about culture. She secretly wants more kids but wants to do well in her classes first. Has two dogs.

The 34th student, who’s ironically 34, tends to get easily annoyed, though he’s not necessarily a bad person by any means. He knows one day we’ll all be history, but that it’s important to be on the right side of history. He can be thought-provoking, as an Afghan man who worries he hasn’t done enough for his homeland. Though he’s also trying to calm himself, usually by tapping his foot or clicking a ballpoint pen repeatedly to blow off steam. To his credit, he’s a fast learner and very good at reading maps.
He is a lawyer, but he prefers not to tell people, since he often doesn’t know who to trust. Part of the reason for taking this is to prove people wrong that he couldn’t learn another language that isn’t within his linguistics, especially since he’s not the best with [name_f]English[/name_f]. He respects Ukraine no matter what though, and he’s not going to let terrible people say otherwise on that. Worries a lot about grades at [name_m]Michel[/name_m] Guyot’s but is very smart and active in class.

Next student entered the class for more openness to he world. They have changed a lot in life, coming out as non-binary and changing a career path. They see many [name_f]British[/name_f] people and many people of other cultures assimilating and they feel the same way about life. They strongly feel the invasion was morally corrupt and that cultures needs to be accepted for what they are. They are tall, have dark skin and shaved hair, and are amazing at dancing and gaming.

The teacher is a 38-year-old male, turning 39 next month. He teaches at the secondary school rather than [name_m]Michel[/name_m] Guyot’s language school, though interestingly, he is related to [name_m]Michel[/name_m] Guyot himself! Most people know this, though it’s not something he’s flashy about. He is the ex-boyfriend of [name_f]Bayley[/name_f] [name_m]Tan[/name_m], which is awkward, but the two don’t interact and he’s just glad [name_f]Bayley[/name_f] is in a better relationship now. Needless to say, his life gets talked about, though everyone (and he says it himself) knows it’s pale compared to the mysterious past of Redholm [name_f]Lake[/name_f].
His class is small, with it usually being less than 12, but this is his smallest group by far. He’s not bothered by it, he would have been a [name_f]Scout[/name_f] leader if he had kids anyway, and was into scouting ironically until deciding he wanted to be a teacher. He has dark eyes and tan skin with freckles, the freckles being more visible depending on the light. His hair is wavy and grows fast, though he tries to cut it to fit the guidelines for private school teachers. He uses a lot of idioms. The reason why he teaches writing for the school paper is his genuine interest in the old-fashioned taste of newspapers. Though he’s honest that he needs the paper to be appropriate for the school, not a gossip column. Still, he enjoys the small group of writers and photographers making it as creative as possible in editing.

The first student is gender-fluid leaning female, 17. They are a B grade student. What they like most is studying art. All their textbooks and notes are decorated with small drawings. They love coffee and often come to Mr. Naide’s class with a cup from the local coffee shop. They like fashion and current trends. They are most often trusted to take pictures for the school newspaper.
This student is the same age as [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] and often laughs at her for preferring coffee over tea. She often asks [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] if she’s [name_f]British[/name_f] at all. She loves tea wth milk and cinnamon. She has a kawaii style and often buys clothes from online shops like modakawa and pastelloves. She would like to have a butterfly tattoo on her forearm but her dad really doesn’t want to hear about it. She actually wants to follow her dad who is an investigative journalist and uncovered a corruption scandal in an international adoption centre from which this student was adopted from Uganda 17 years ago even though then her parents had no idea about it and her dad only uncovered it when alarmed by the Redholm [name_f]Lake[/name_f] authorities that some of the documents might have been falsified. This student hopes she won’t have to report on scandals - her preference is fashion and gossip, she wants to interview celebrities in the future and is the biggest fan of [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] Cumberbatch you could think of.

The 3rd student is a 16 year old boy who you wouldn’t normally expect to be on the newspaper committee. This boy is on the school rugby team and is very much a “jock”. But he also has a soft side and is really into sports journalism, as well as photography, and he is the main photographer for the school newspaper. He is really kind, although he puts up a tough face in front of the rest of the school. He has six younger siblings who he loves to take care of. He is friendly with everyone on the school newspaper committee and his casual, funny nature draws people in.

The 4th student is a shy and introverted 15yo girl. She believes in observing before contributing to discussions. She likes reading books and writing short stories. She also enjoys classical music and playing chess on her own. She joined the newspaper committee not only because she likes writing, but also as an attempt to make some friends. She has a habit of biting her nails when nervous. She hates loud noises, crowds and when people underestimate her because of her shyness. She has a dream of becoming a published after and hopes to attend some prestigious university after school. She is a kind of features editor in Mr. Naide’s committee.
