The results are finally here! [name_f][/name_f] And the florals are back, baby! [name_f][/name_f] There were a few years where there were barely any floral names mentioned, but they are back, and there are so many other florals that just barely missed being included! [name_f][/name_f] What do you think of this year’s top picks? [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Do[/name_f] any surprise you?

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]For reference, here were last year's 25, if you're interested:[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
And I’m attaching the full results for 2025 for whoever would like to review them! [name_f][/name_f] Thank you for sharing all your favorites with me, berries, and I hope this brings you as much as enjoyment as it brings me each summer! [name_f][/name_f]
Aw I’m sad my precious [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] didn’t make this year’s list [name_f][/name_f] A lot of amazing names though! No surprise that Josephine’s at the top
[name_f][/name_f]
Ones on my list that made it to the top 25: [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]June[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
And as with the boys, names that are on my list but either further down or there as a middle: [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], Beatrix/ce, [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], Jane…and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] (different spelling but still counting it)!
[name_f][/name_f]
I’m very happy to see [name_f]Frances[/name_f] so far up the list, I love her but sometimes worry she’s too clunky…love that others love her too! Also surprised to see [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] on the list, considering she hasn’t been in the US Top 1000 for decades! She does have a certain charm to her though…this is making me see her in a different perspective
[name_f][/name_f]
And I absolutely loved reading through the full list! So many vintage favourites in there…thanks so much for doing this @ashthedreamer[name_f][/name_f]
Wow, such great names! I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]June[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] were on my list, so I’m happy they made it!! I think I’m most surprised by [name_f]Clio[/name_f], especially this spelling. She’s sweet-but I didn’t realize she was such a favourite!
Whoa, I knew [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] was popular on here but I didn’t expect it to be the[name_f][/name_f] single most liked name! And it’s not even close!
[name_f][/name_f]
Others are a bit more expected: [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], Marigold… [name_f][/name_f]I would have guessed Beatrice/x to be further up but since they have to share it makes sense that each of them only gets half the fame I suppose!
[name_f][/name_f]
None of the names I submitted made the list, but that’s only because [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is behind [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Clio[/name_f] alphabetically – they’re actually tied for 24th. And even though they didn’t make my[name_f][/name_f] top 25 I’m still delighted to see [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]June[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f].
florals are so back and I’m happy to see it [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] (spelled differently) were all on my list. [name_f][/name_f]I also love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and Clio; all of those come on and off my top list. Altogether a gorgeous set, which isn’t surprising at all given the lovely people here
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] in the Top Three feels unexpected and very-berry at the same time! [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] feel a little surprising too [name_f][/name_f]- I’d half expect [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. would rank above them! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] And the [name_f]Clio[/name_f] spelling feels unexpected too!
Only three of my girls made it into the top 25 (Rosemary, Eleanor and Violet). I think Fern and Clio were probably the most surprising and I did think my girl Helena would rank higher, but it does set my mind at ease that she’s flying a little under the radar. It would be cool to get a caf with the names that were only used once!
I was just[name_f][/name_f] thinking about when these posts would drop! What a lovely surprise on a dreary day.
[name_f][/name_f]
I feel so uncreative that so many of my favorites are on the list, but of course the appreciation for these beautiful names makes total sense. [name_f][/name_f] A very [name_f]Berry[/name_f] list indeed. I’m intrigued to see [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] at #1[name_f][/name_f], but she does have a quietly steady presence on the forums. Not at all shocked to see [name_f]Fern[/name_f] so high up – she’s definitely blossomed this past year! [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious, did you get more or less responses this year than last? This year’s list feels much more [name_f]Berry[/name_f] than 2024’s.
Most of these are a little more demure than my general first name style but I’m excited to spot a couple of our favourites for #5[name_f][/name_f] on the list!
Thank you so much for doing this, it’s really interesting to see.
[name_f][/name_f]
As a [name_m]Brit[/name_m], it’s really good to see [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] at the top, because I submitted [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] to the underrated name thread a few weeks ago, because it is underrated here in the UK. It just hasn’t caught on over here, like it has in the US, and I can’t understand why. [name_m]Even[/name_m] some of my friends have looked at me, quite bemused, at my love for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], so it’s good to know I’m in good company!!
[name_f][/name_f]
I think I counted five names I submitted that made the top 25, and five that I was the only one to suggest, so I wonder what that says about my tastes.
[name_f][/name_f]
I’m going to carefully peruse both of the detailed lists tomorrow, on my day off, because I’m hoping to discover some gems to add to my lists!
I am most surprised by [name_f]Clio[/name_f]! I don’t feel like I’ve seen it mentioned much around here. The others aren’t shocking but they are lovely. I love that the top 3 names have the “ine” ending but with two different pronunciations. [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] was one of my submissions, I wonder if it’ll start catching on more?
well, berries are nothing if not consistent with their style!
[name_f][/name_f]
from the top 25, I was delighted to see [name_f]Fern[/name_f] ranking so highly as it’s a name I’ve really come around to in the last year or so. I used to find it rather harsh and unappealing in an American accent, but after hearing it on a contestant in the kids version of GBBO, I have a new appreciation for it!
[name_f][/name_f]
the highest ranking name from my list is [name_f]Juniper[/name_f] with 10 entries, which doesn’t surprise me, followed by Frey(j)a at 5.
She did make a push at the end though! [name_f][/name_f] I thought maybe she had a shot! [name_f][/name_f] And ironically, [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] was the number one last year. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]. She’s definitely loved on Nameberry!
[name_f][/name_f]
And you’re welcome! [name_f][/name_f] I’m already impatient for next [name_f]July[/name_f] to come again so I can do it all over again lol.
I do combine spellings, since the sample size is so small, compared to national rankings of whatever. [name_f][/name_f] And I fully admit to picking my favorite spelling when there are variants. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]. I like [name_f]Clio[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], but both spellings were definitely submitted! [name_f][/name_f] I do that with a couple names, but the main culprits are [name_f]Clio[/name_f], [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] lol.
Yeah she definitely surprised me too! [name_f][/name_f] And she gained steam at the last minute… for the first half of recording votes, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] was the number 1, which seems kind of funny given that she’s number 7 now lol. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] definitely fell as [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] rose!
[name_f][/name_f]
And I’m so sad about [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], at one point she was top 10! [name_f][/name_f] She also dropped quite a bit.
So interesting! Thank you for putting all the time and effort in to make this happen!
[name_f][/name_f]
I would find it interesting to know the comparison of who is in the US vs UK vs other places. I feel like some of these names I would be super surprised to hear here (US) but maybe it more common in other areas. Names like [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Clio[/name_f] I would be really shocked to meet here. But names like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] all seem very popular here too.
Hahahahahaha I always remember this first quote about [name_f]Rose[/name_f] from 2 years ago from you so I’m happy for you that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is BACK, and better than ever lol. [name_f][/name_f] 3 [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names!!! [name_f][/name_f] I’m not really a rose person but I adore [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] so I am very happy she’s back! [name_f][/name_f] A little sad [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] didn’t make it but so many other florals did that I can hardly complain!
It’s like a Nameberry bouquet, I love it! [name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
and I know, u half thought [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] was going to beat out [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] for a bit there! [name_f][/name_f] But [name_f]Clio[/name_f] is a combo of [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] + [name_f]Clio[/name_f] votes, I usually combine spellings where it makes sense to do so given the relatively small sample size of name submissions.
