I’m looking for some new ideas, and thought this could be fun for everyone as well.
So which name(s) have been on your mind lately? Any particular reason to it?
the combo [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] has been bouncing around in my head for a while. I like it and I don’t like it at the same time, so that might be why it won’t go away.
[name_u]Lorca[/name_u], cause of [name_m]Federico[/name_m] García [name_u]Lorca[/name_u] and [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] (his daughter is named [name_u]Lorca[/name_u]). I highly doudt i will ever use it, but its on my mind lately.

[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] [name_f]Therese[/name_f] ([name_f]Ally[/name_f]) - I am not close to TTC, but I have decided on this as my favorite girls combo. For now at least… anyway, I love that it is a double honor name. I am smitten with her!
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] - This is one of my favorites right now. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is way more popular than I would like… and I have typically gone for [name_f]Liana[/name_f] instead, but [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is so beautiful!
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] - I love the idea of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Jo[/name_u], but I am still back and forth on [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]. Also, the spelling of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is kind of a pain.
[name_f]Nessa[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] the whimsy. I think the approaching summer is making me lean toward happy, fun names.

[name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] - Again, [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. Also, pretty frilly and maybe too long. Stuck in my head though

[name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - I had forgotten about [name_u]June[/name_u]! But I rediscovered her recently. It is a meaningful name for me, and I love the simple feel with a little quirk mixed in. [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is way, way more classic than I usually go, but something about this combo is memorable.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] - I am not sure about the repeating Vs, but this combo has stuck on my list for a while now. I am trying to come up with some other middles, but [name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] keeps catching my eye!
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] [name_f]Liv[/name_f],[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u], and [name_f]Britta[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] - I need to bring these back to my sig. I am loving nature names right now, and these are some of my favorite nature inspired combos. Oh, and I am also considering [name_u]Piper[/name_u].

I am also leaning that way on the boys side - [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], [name_m]Clay[/name_m], [name_u]Reid[/name_u], [name_m]Cliff[/name_m]… and [name_m]Bowen[/name_m]. Ha! I guess I am really caught up in the -en/-an thing.

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] - I have loved this for a long time, but I have been thinking again about sibsets recently. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] & [name_f]Carina[/name_f] was my original set, but I am liking [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] & [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] right now. Definitely something I am pondering.
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] ([name_f]Miri[/name_f]) & [name_f]Edith[/name_f] ([name_f]Edie[/name_f]) - I love [name_f]Miri[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f]. I really do. But I am starting to waver on [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] & [name_f]Edith[/name_f]… I think I need to hear them on a real baby! They are feeling dated to me right now. I want to love them again!
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] - Magnolia used to be one of my favorites, but I have not been able to find a middle for her. Meanwhile, Magdalene has really snuck up my list. Which way to Maggie?

Oh, I’m a big admirer of [name_u]Lorca[/name_u], and I find really cool the idea of using [name_u]Lorca[/name_u] as a name, unfortunately, in Spain it is only used as last name, (it’s also the name of a town). I think [name_u]Lorca[/name_u] would be a good middle name.
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I think it’s gorgeous, but it’s also borderline too much for me, and it doesn’t match my style very well. I tend to go for more classic names, but I think [name_u]Winter[/name_u] with the potential nickname of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would just be so cute.
[name_f]Nara[/name_f] and Çansa, maybe even Bornova as place names. I always loved place names - Mavera and Ardahan are my favorites but these three are rising on the list too.
Animal names are second guilty pleasures, Aslan, Kaplan, [name_m]Kurt[/name_m], Kartal etc. I even thought about Kelebek and Çalıkuşu lol.
[name_f]Otillie[/name_f] & [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] have been on my mind recently as combos too: Otillie [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] & [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f].
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] is on my mind a lot right now, it could possibly end up replacing [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] in my top five.
Also, I’ve been rereading The Chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], and have been giving a lot of thought to [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] as a result. Not sure I’d be brave enough to use it though!

[name_m]Kurt[/name_m]: I heard this in a youtube video, on a little boy, and it just made the name seem real…not some old, dusty name. I find myself liking the sound and the simplicity of it. It’s strong, short, and stands out (where I’m at).
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]: This is a family name on DH’s side, far back, and I’ve always liked the idea of the name…but we never really considered it before. It sounds really sweet.
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]: I like it, but my husband doesn’t. I’m liking it as a middle right now.

For girls I’ve been thinking about the names [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I love the nn [name_f]Minty[/name_f] and [name_f]Minta[/name_f] but wondering if [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] is too much? I’ve never really liked [name_f]Jane[/name_f] but it’s slowly growing on me. And I’ve really starting loving [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] lately.
And for boys I’ve been thinking about [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] and [name_m]Idris[/name_m].

Sibsets with Bilge & Fatih, [name_f]Maysa[/name_f] & Bulut plus [name_f]Fatima[/name_f] & Mariye. Maybe Börteçine Aşına Hatun and Mekselina Osman/Ömer Süreyc? Balamir Aybars Hakan and Mavera Ayla Liri? Too many ideas. What about Masal & Öykü? Sigh.
Lately I’ve been thinking about the name [name_f]Auria[/name_f], my only problem being that I’m to have a niece named [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and my cousin (who I am close to) has a daughter named [name_f]Aria[/name_f], so to me [name_f]Auria[/name_f] seems like a mix of those two names and therefore unusable. The nickname usually comes from [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], but I can’t see myself using that name and today the name [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] hit me. I could see myself naming my daughter [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Auria[/name_f].
Otherwise, I’m thinking about [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m] at the moment, because of a [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who character.
I’ve been trying to revamp my boys list lately, so I’ve been thinking about [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] a lot. Also, [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]. Questioning [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]. SO vetoed [name_u]Reese[/name_u] so I’m mourning.
For girls, I’ve been having a major crush on [name_f]Julia[/name_f], and thinking about whether I should have [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] on my list or just [name_u]Josie[/name_u].
